2001 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab Trd Off Road 4x4 on 2040-cars
Greensburg, Pennsylvania, United States
This auction is for a very nice 2001 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab TRD Off Road 4x4. The truck was a local trade on a new Tacoma. We have driven the truck a few hundred miles and it runs and drives great. It has the bulletproof 3.4L V6 and automatic transmission with only 178k miles. We noticed that it will need a new tailpipe (has a few leaks), but other than that the truck seems to be pretty good mechanically. The frame was replaced by Toyota under manufacture recall, and this service included all new brake lines, leaf springs, hardware, and etc. All four raised white letter tires match and have excellent tread and the A/C blows cold. All of the power options and everything else works just as they should. The body is in excellent shape and in above average condition for a PA truck this age. The red paint shines like new and there is no rust except for a very slight amount on the bottom lip of the drivers front door and the rear bumper. The spot seen in the photos on the drivers front door is just a paint chip that could easily be brush touched. The interior is like new and exceptionally clean with no rips, tears, or burns. There's no smoke or any other fouls odors present. The truck also has a spray in bed liner and has obviously been very well kept and maintained. This is a very nice older Taco in great condition for its age and miles. We all have an idea of what it's worth, so good luck bidding. This is a no reserve auction that we are not offering a buy it now price on, so bid to win. The truck is being sold through North Greengate Auto Sales, and is being sold as is with no warranty expressed or implied. I will be happy to answer any questions that you may have. THANKS FOR LOOKING AND GOOD LUCK BIDDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Toyota and Mazda set to expand partnership
Mon, May 11 2015Toyota and Mazda are already teaming up for the Scion iA and Mazda2, but that partnership might just be the beginning. Reuters reports the two Japanese companies could expand their work together, with Toyota chipping in its experience with both fuel cells and plug-in-hybrid tech, and Mazda contributing its know-how in regards to its Skyactiv line of engines. The report cites a pair of unnamed sources that are "not authorized to discuss the matter publicly." The move, on the surface, is certainly appealing for both parties. Mazda has very little experience with hybrids (remember the Ford-rebadged Tribute Hybrid?), let alone something as advanced as a fuel-cell vehicle. Teaming with Toyota, arguably the world's greatest hybrid manufacturer, would give it a serious leg up. For the Japanese giant, meanwhile, a partnership with Mazda could expand the economy of scale for the Mirai FCV's tech, while Skyactiv engines would do well in replacing the base engines in cars like the Corolla, Camry, and RAV4. What are your thoughts? Would an expanded partnership between Toyota and Mazda make sense? Can you think of any drawbacks? Have your say in Comments. 2013 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport
Tue, 16 Apr 2013"Oh yeah, Toyota still makes the Tacoma." Admit it, that's what you just said to yourself. It's a perfectly natural reaction, but the Tacoma has been quietly anchoring its segment for years, outselling every other compact pickup without making too much of a fuss. Toyota hasn't neglected the Tacoma - it was updated in 2012 with a revised nose and interior as the most noteable changes.
In a world awash with high-value fullsize pickups all vying for your attention, the Tacoma still charms more than a few buyers out of their cash. I hooked a Tacoma for a week to see whether it still has enough to recommend it.

Lexus Eco Challenge rewards schools for clean water, briquette press projects
Fri, Feb 28 2014Teams from one New Jersey high school and one Michigan middle school reversed the old adage by thinking locally and acting globally. And that strategy won them the grand prizes in the most recent edition of the Lexus Eco Challenge. The future is indeed bright. The Toyota luxury-vehicle division gave out a half-million dollars in this year's contest. One $30,000 grand prize was awarded to the Pinelands Eco Scienteers from Little Egg Harbor, NJ, which produced and distributed low-cost briquette presses to rural villages beset by deforestation. The other grand prize went to the E.T. Electrical Team from Byron Center West Middle School in Michigan. That middle-school group raised money to send water filters to Haiti, Kenya and the Philippines. Lexus also awarded eight $15,000 first-place awards, with the winners including high schools from California, Florida, Missouri and Pennsylvania as well as middle schools from Arizona, Michigan, North Carolina and Texas. A special shout out goes to Daniel Boone Area High School in Birdsboro, PA, where students created an educational and public-relations campaign to publicize algae-based biofuels. In all, Lexus has doled out more than $4 million in Eco Challenge awards in seven years. Check out Lexus's press release below. Students Get Dollars and Sense in Lexus Eco Challenge - $500,000 Awarded to Teams Who Learn About Environment and Community Empowerment Two Grand Prize Teams Earn $30,000 Eight $15,000 First Place Awards Given to Innovative High School and Middle School Teams Students Bring Ideas to a Larger Audience and Make a Positive Impact on the World TORRANCE, Calif., (Feb. 24, 2014) – It's a win, win situation! Communities become a better place, and students, teachers and schools have the chance to share $500,000 in scholarships and grants through the Lexus Eco Challenge. This year, the $30,000 Grand Prize winners are the Pinelands Eco Scienteers from Little Egg Harbor, New Jersey, and the E.T. Electrical Team from Byron Center, Michigan. The Lexus Eco Challenge is an educational program and contest that inspires and empowers young people to learn about the environment and take action to improve it. High school and middle school teams nationwide define an environmental issue that is important to them, develop an action plan to address the issue, implement the plan, and report on the results.
