Greetings! I have a great little Toyota Double cab for sale. This truck is extremely reliable and has no mechanical problems to speak of, the 4x4 pops in immediately, high or low- Its a push button 4x4 and the truck having the TRD package features the rear locking electric differential which also works flawlessly. The AC blows cold, radio and cd are in great working order and so is everything else on this truck. I've always been a fan of these long lasting mini trucks and this is the last of the last Tacomas of this size but a very popular configuration. I have had a Toyota pickup since I was first able to drive and I am selling my long favorite personal one in another auction right now, this Tacoma is owned by my business.
The body is straight and it good condition. we are in Minnesota and rust takes hold of trucks here, this one is over all in great shape regarding the rust factor and has little to speak of. The frame is in great shape has some rust color to it in spots but it is to be expected here in Minnesota but I do guarantee no rust "damage" besides discoloration on the frame, there are no holes anywhere on the frame or anything like that. There are a couple scratches, see pictures but nothing big, there lower right hand corner of the tail gate has a tiny bit starting on the edge. Tires are worn out and it will need new tires soon, the interior is very very clean, but the seats do have some small burns in them, one of the previous owner's had to have been a smoker. ** There is no smoke scent in the vehicle**
One owner owned this truck for over 10 years so since new, carfax reports no accidents and nothing has been repainted on the vehicle. Its a clean title and history, carfax reports 3 owners total however the first two owner's only retained the vehicle for a few months where as the last owner had the truck for 10 and a half years so its basically a one owner.
That's about all I can tell you about the truck, I encourage someone to come see it if they like, or call me or message me if they have any questions more about this truck. I am honest and straight forward and will tell you anything you like. 612-964-7609, my name is Andrew. Also if you buy this truck and don't absolutely love it I will give you your deposit back minus the ebay fees after the sale if you aren't 100% satisfied with this truck. The truck literally drives like new!
Thanks for looking!!

Scion iA and iM rolled into Yaris and Corolla lineups for 2017

Thu, Mar 17 2016

The Scion brand may be going away, but most of its cars (sorry, tC) are living on. We'll see the 2017 Toyota 86 (nee Scion FR-S) at the New York Auto Show next week, and the automaker already confirmed that the Scion iA and iM will be rebadged as Toyotas. But instead of standing on their own, the former Scions will be rolled into existing model lines. "Yaris iA" and "Corolla iM" will be the official names of the cars, effective for 2017. It's a smart move, paring the relatively new Scion nameplates with well-known, existing Toyota monikers. Scion spokeswoman Nancy Hubbell tells Autoblog that the iA already exists as the Yaris in the Canadian and Mexican markets, so "that connection was already there." Plus, it's better for marketing. The combination of the two vehicles all under the Yaris nameplate means Toyota can focus its advertising dollars on one vehicle line, simply saying that you can now have the Yaris as a four-door sedan or a five-door hatchback. "The same goes with Corolla," Hubbell explains. She says the existing Toyota sedan and the Scion iM "paired really well," and again, it means Toyota can advertise the Corolla as having two body styles moving forward. There are benefits from a sales perspective, too. Never mind that Scion division sales were already included in Toyota's overall numbers – calling the new cars Yaris iA and Corolla iM means the company won't have to report these cars individual sales separately. It's like when Toyota made the Matrix – its technical name was Corolla Matrix, so its individual sales didn't have to be broken out. That means an extra boost in overall numbers for the Yaris and Corolla, even if the cars would have been reported under Toyota's numbers had they kept their Scion badges. Judge halts Toyota unintended acceleration cases, triggers time for settlement negotiations

Mon, 16 Dec 2013

So far, the lawsuits brought forth against Toyota for unintended acceleration have gone both ways: the automaker was found not at fault in a 2009 California crash and liable for a 2007 crash in Oklahoma. Both cases involved a Camry and resulted in fatalities. With a big chunk of these UA cases (around 200) set to his the docket of US District Judge James V. Selna in Santa Ana, California, Bloomberg is reporting that the judge has halted the lawsuits until March after Toyota and its lawyers have had extra time to try and settle the cases.
According to the article, Toyota is looking to take care of the cases out of court with an "intensive settlement process." Having already paid out $1.6 billion in "economic loss" suits, this latest settlement process is aimed at the wrongful death and personal injury cases allegedly associated with unintended acceleration. A hearing for the settlements will be held on January 14 with conferences on the matter commencing in February. There is no word as to when lawsuits may start back up if settlements can't be agreed upon.

Toyota engineer warns automous cars could increase fuel use, urban sprawl

Fri, 18 Jul 2014

An increasing number of people are starting to consider the potential downsides of a transition to autonomous cars. The FBI is already looking at them for the potential ill effects on law enforcement, and a scientist for Toyota is raising the possibility that driverless vehicles could actually be detrimental to the environment over the long term.
Ken Laberteaux, who studies future transportation for Toyota, thinks that autonomous cars could lead to more pollution, not less, says Bloomberg. However, Laberteaux's theory isn't so much based purely on science as it is considering behavioral and historical trends. "US history shows that anytime you make driving easier, there seems to be this inexhaustible desire to live further from things," said Laberteaux during a presentation at the Automated Vehicles Symposium in San Francisco, CA, cited by Bloomberg.
Laberteaux's belief is that if commuters can make their drives easier, then they will be more willing to live farther away from the cities where they work. The end result would be more urban sprawl and increased pollution from the longer travel times.
