YOU ARE BIDDING ON A 1988 TOYOTA 4X4 EXT CAB TRUCK WITH 118,000 ORIGINAL MILES WITH 3.0 V6 AND AUTO TRANS. THE V6 & AUTO TRANSMISSION WAS A RARE COMBO IN THESE TRUCKS BACK THEN NORMALLY ORDERED BY THE CUSTOMER BY CHOICE. THE TRUCK HAS BEEN A SOUTH CAROLINA TRUCK SINCE IT WAS NEW, I AM ONLY THE 2ND OWNER OF THE TRUCK. WE BOUGHT IT FROM A LOCAL MAN WHO IS ACTUALLY A FAMILY FRIEND AND HE PURCHASED THE TRUCK NEW IN 1988 FROM BOYLE TOYOTA IN SUMTER,SC. THE TRUCK HAS ONLY BEEN OUT OF THE STATE OF SC A FEW TIMES IN ITS LIFE SO THERE ARE NO RUST ISSUES AT ALL, BODY AND FRAME WISE THE TRUCK IS VERY SOLID! THE INTERIOR IS IN GREAT SHAPE AS WELL, THE PREVIOUS OWNER DID NOT SMOKE AND NIETHER DO I OR ANYONE ELSE IN MY FAMILY WHO HAS DRIVEN THE TRUCK ANY. THE TRUCK HAS MASTER CRAFT M/T TIRES 31/10.5/15 ON 10" ALUMINUM MODULAR WHEELS, TIRES HAVE 75% OR BETTER THREAD LEFT. THE TRUCK ONLY HAS 118,000 MILES ON IT BUT, IT HAS DEVELOPED AN OIL LEAK AND DOES USE OIL, IT SKIPS WHEN IT IS FIRST CRANKED UP BUT AFTER RUNING FOR 5 MINUTES OR SO IT RUNS FINE. NEW HEADS WERE PUT ON THE TRUCK ABOUT A YEAR AGO AT 114,000 MILES, WE ARE NOT SURE IF THE TRUCK WILL NEED A NEW/REBUILT MOTOR BEFORE LONG OR NOT. EVERYTHING ELSE ON THE TRUCK WORKS JUST FINE, TRANS SHIFTS SMOOTHLY, A/C BLOWS NICE AND COLD AND DRIVES DOWN THE ROAD GREAT.THE TRUCK IS BEING SOLD AS IS AND WOULD BE A GREAT TRUCK FOR ANYONE. THE TRUCK WILL NEED SOME MOTOR WORK AND MAY NEED TO BE REBUILT, WE WOULD LOVE TO KEEP IT AND FIX IT BUT WE JUST HAVE TOO MANY OTHER PROJECTS GOING ON RIGHT NOW. THE TRUCK CAN BE DRIVEN BUT I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND GETTING IN IT AND DRIVING IT ON A 1000 MILE TRIP BECAUSE OF THE OIL LEAK. ONCE AGAIN THIS TRUCK HAS BEEN A SOUTHEN SC TRUCK SINCE IT WAS BRAND NEW, THE BODY AND FRAME ARE ROCK SOLID NO RUST ISSUES TO BE CONCERNED ABOUT WITH THIS ONE!!!
THE TRUCK DOES HAVE TWO DENTS IN IT, ONE IS ON THE DRIVERS SIDE FRONT FENDER FROM SOMEONE OPENING A DOOR ON IT IN A PARKING LOT AND THE OTHER IS ON THE ROOF RIGHT IN THE FRONT IN THE MIDDLE FROM A TREE LIMB FALLING ON IT DURING A STORM LAST SUMMER. THERE IS ALSO A TEAR IN THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR ON THE GRAB HANDLE.
IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTONS PLEASE FEEL FREE TO EMAIL OR CALL. DUDLEY @ 803-460-8190.

Toyota aims to build autonomous car around 2020 [w/videos]
Tue, Oct 6 2015The race is on to get increasingly sophisticated forms of autonomous driving technology on the road, and brands like Tesla are bringing these solutions to some drivers now. But as one of the world's largest automakers, it's no surprise to see Toyota competing in the field, as well. By 2020, the company thinks a person could be largely unnecessary for freeway trips. With a suite of tech called the Highway Teammate, a modified Lexus GS is already showing what's possible. Using a combination of millimeter wave radar, LIDAR, and cameras, the GS gets a full view of the road, and software processes all of the info to make decisions. The result is a ride on the freeway without human interaction. The system can merge, change lanes, make passes, take curves, and maintain a safe distance from other vehicles. Accurate map data is a necessity to make this work, so the system currently only being tested on Tokyo's Shuto Expressway. While Highway Teammate might not be the best name, it accurately communicates the way Toyota thinks of the tech. The company is making big investments in artificial intelligence to assist drivers, not completely replace them. You can see the system in action in the video below, and the second clip's gravely serious narrator explains the company's idea of having a fully connected road someday. New Toyota Test Vehicle Paves the Way for Commercialization of Automated Highway Driving Technologies Toyota City, Japan, October 6, 2015-Toyota has been testing a new automated driving test vehicle called Highway Teammate, with the aim of launching related products by around 2020. In addition to demonstrating the capabilities of next-generation safety technologies, the vehicle represents Toyota's view of the evolving driver-car relationship in the age of artificial intelligence. Toyota believes that interactions between drivers and cars should mirror those between close friends who share a common purpose, sometimes watching over each other and sometimes helping each other out. Toyota refers to this approach as the Mobility Teammate Concept, and Highway Teammate represents an important first effort to give form to this concept.
Car thief caught in McDonald's drive-thru after placing order with owner
Mon, 20 May 2013If you're going to drive a stolen car in a town of roughly 77,000 people - about the same size as Scranton, Pennsylvania or Ogden, Utah - you want to be very careful about where you drive that stolen car to eat. That's the lesson Katherine York of Kennewick, Washington learned when she was arrested for being in possession of a stolen Toyota 4Runner that also happened to have a bunch of stolen clothes from JC Penney and Sears in it.
Virginia Maiden woke up Tuesday, May 14 to find her 1995 4Runner - that she thought she forgot to lock - swiped from her apartment building. At 3 PM that afternoon, while working her shift at the drive-thru at McDonald's that day, she saw her truck in line. York hadn't even gone far - the McDonald's is not even five miles from Maiden's apartment. Maiden called the police, they showed up just as York was leaving, and York made another vehicle switch, this time into a black-and-white for a trip to the Benton County jail. They don't have McDonald's there, but she won't have so far to go to eat.
Autoblog Minute: VW Q3 financial woes, 2015 Tokyo Motor Show
Fri, Oct 30 2015Consumer Reports pulls its Tesla recommendation, the U.S. Copyright Office offers a ruling affecting car owners, VW gets hit hard with third-quarter losses, and lots of exciting news from Tokyo. Autoblog senior editor Greg Migliore reports on this edition of Autoblog Minute Weekly Recap. Show full video transcript text [00:00:00] Consumer Reports pulls its Tesla recommendation, the U.S. copyright office offers a ruling that affects car owners and gear heads, VW gets hit hard with third-quarter losses, and lots of exciting news from Tokyo. I'm senior editor Greg Migliore and this is your Autoblog Minute Weekly Recap. After a week away testing vehicles for Autoblog's Tech of the Year award, we're back in the office to recap the week in automotive news. [00:00:30] One of the things you might have missed was Consumer Reports pulling its recommendation of Tesla's Model S sedan. The blemish for Tesla comes after a tally of reviews from customer surveys. The most common problem areas for the Model S as cited by survey takers included: the drivetrain, power equipment, charging equipment, body and sunroof squeaks, rattles, and leaks. So lots of stuff. Though they could not ignore a score of "worse-than-average", Consumer Reports still [00:01:00] highlighted the fact that the Model S was "the best performing car" they've ever tested. Telsa CEO Elon Musk took to social media to defend his sedans saying: "Consumer Reports reliability survey includes a lot of early production cars. Already addressed in new cars." And, "Tesla gets top rating of any company in service. Most important, CR says 97% of owners expect their next car to be a Tesla (the acid test)." In Financial news, Volkswagen took a hit and reported an operating loss of [00:01:30] $3.84 billion. This is the first such loss for VW in 15 years. Toyota reclaimed the crown as the world's largest automaker as well. It's important that it's not all doom and gloom for VW though in Q3. Sales revenues were up and the company's automotive division boasts $30 billion dollars in liquid assets. It's a sizable war chest that will no doubt come in handy, as the company has yet to feel the full brunt of the diesel emissions scandal. Good news for gear heads. The US copyright office [00:02:00] ruled in favor of mechanics and car owners by granting an exception to existing copyright law. The law was originally meant to prevent software pirating and bootlegging of Hollywood movies.
