Up for sale is a black 1998 Toyota Supra Twin Turbo. I am the fourth owner, having owned the car for nearly ten years, and to this day, it still puts a smile on my face. There are many nice automobiles out there, but this is one of the few where you get it all: design, engineering, performance, exclusivity, and reliability! Under my ownership it has never been in an accident, always garage kept, never smoked in, and well-maintained. It has seen rain and even a little snow over the years, but generally was not driven in inclement weather. Exterior rates at a 7/10 and interior a 6.5/10; it shows very well for a car its age.

- Targa roof leak - known issue w/ Supras. Under heavy rain, the roof sometimes leaks in a single spot (driver-side), about a drop every ten seconds. To fix, the removable roof-lock strip may either need to be caulked (i.e., silicon seal) or replaced. This was not a big deal for me as I tend to not drive in rain and it does not occur all of the time.
- Wheels - overall in good condition. On the passenger side, there are some minor curb rash areas. Additionally, passenger side wheels were used with a cleaner that added a light hazy like coating to the chrome finish.
- Right side windshield washer nozzle does not stream fluid. Not sure if this is due to wax build up clogging the nozzle or some other issue, but not an issue for me as the fluid from the left nozzle does the job.
- Scratches/ding/chips - The carbon fiber hood has a scratch near the driver-side headlight (see picture), and a small chip on hood edge. There are scratches on the front and rear driver side fenders as well as the right rear bumper. There is a door ding on the driver door. Overall finish is quite good for a fifteen year old car.
- Missing seat slider on driver side - it must have popped off at one point but it does not affect operation/functionality of moving the seat back forward/backward
- Trunk latch - in order to open the trunk, the trunk release handle needs to stay in the "up" position to release the lock
- Radio antenna - the mast does not go up and down. Affects the reception of a few FM radio stations and all AM stations
- Headlight beam cutoff - the OEM glass headlamps (imported from Europe) have a different beam cut-off pattern than stock headlamps, which have plastic lens, sold in North American Supras. The glass lens is more durable and functionally superior to the plastic lens (and work great with the HID's) emitting a brighter light, but the cut-off forces the beam to a shorter distance. This can be adjusted, based on owner preference, but it was never an issue for me.
- The vehicle is being sold as-is. I have made my best attempt to disclose all known information.
- Have financing in-place. Do not use Buy It Now feature unless you intend to pay within the specified time frame
- This Supra will be advertised on multiple sites, plus I will bring it to local car dealers for their best offers, so I may end the eBay listing if sold through another channel
- Have most records/receipts of parts purchased and services performed
- Always used Mobil 1 Synthetic oil
- Has been to the track once (MIR in November of 2003)
- I either wait or use the turbo timer to cool the turbos before shutting off engine
- Boost is at stock levels for at least the past two years (to preserve turbo life)
- When I had the performance parts installed in 2006, I dyno'd it: result was 332 rwhp on Mustang Dyno @ 15 PSI (prior to mods, rwhp was 255)
- Have title in-hand; no liens

Autoblog's Editors' Picks: Our complete list of the best new vehicles
Mon, May 13 2024It's not easy to earn an “EditorsÂ’ Picks” at Autoblog as part of the rating and review process that every new vehicle goes through. Our editors have been at it a long time, which means weÂ’ve driven and reviewed virtually every new car you can go buy on the dealer lot. There are disagreements, of course, and all vehicles have their strengths and weaknesses, but this list features what we think are the best new vehicles chosen by Autoblog editors. We started this formal review process back in 2018, so there's quite of few of them now. So what does it mean to be an EditorsÂ’ Pick? In short, it means itÂ’s a car that we can highly recommend purchasing. There may be one, multiple, or even zero vehicles in any given segment that we give the green light to. What really matters is that itÂ’s a vehicle that weÂ’d tell a friend or family member to go buy if theyÂ’re considering it, because itÂ’s a very good car. The best way to use this list is is with the navigation links below. Click on a segment, and you'll quickly arrive at the top rated pickup truck or SUV, for example. Use the back button to return to these links and search in another segment, like sedans. If youÂ’ve been keeping up with our monthly series of the latest vehicles to earn EditorsÂ’ Pick status, youÂ’re likely going to be familiar with this list already. If not, welcome to the complete list that weÂ’ll be keeping updated as vehicles enter (and others perhaps exit) the good graces of our editorial team. We rate a new car — giving it a numerical score out of 10 — every time thereÂ’s a significant refresh or if it happens to be an all-new model. Any given vehicle may be impressive on a first drive, but we wait until itÂ’s in the hands of our editors to put it through the same type of testing as every other vehicle that rolls through our test fleet before giving it the EditorsÂ’ Pick badge. This ensures consistency and allows more voices to be heard on each individual model. And just so you donÂ’t think weÂ’ve skipped trims or variants of a model, we hand out the EditorsÂ’ Pick based on the overarching model to keep things consistent. So, when you read that the 3 Series is an EditorsÂ’ Pick, yes, that includes the 330i to the M3 and all the variants in between. If thereÂ’s a particular version of that car we vehemently disagree with, we make sure to call that out.

Toyota GT86 turbo, convertible, sedan variants back on the table
Fri, 02 May 2014Okay Toyota, make up your mind. Figure it out. Quit playing games with our heart. Either build a bunch of variations of the excellent GT86 (also known as the Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ) or don't. At this point, we're just tired of the back and forth. After no shortage of denials, an Australian website is claiming that Toyota is reconsidering convertible, four-door, turbocharged and all-wheel-drive hybrid variants of the GT86. Kindly pass all the salt.
It's not that we don't want to believe the Aussies; we do. But when the story lists the same "sources in Japan" as a lot of the other denials and confirmations about GT86/BRZ/FR-S variants, well, there's a certain sense of the "Boy That Cried Wolf," here. Ignoring all that, then, what does Motoring.com.au claim to know?
Sources claim the GT86 Convertible will arrive in October 2014, while the turbocharged and hybrid sedans are slated for 2016.
