Up for sale is a beautiful 1998 Original Quicksilver Toyota Supra with Targa Top. This Quicksilver originally started life as a non turbo and was fully restored to a Factory Twin Turbo 6 speed supra, even down to brand new OEM engine and chassis harness. There are no leaks, no vibrations, no smoking. Transmission shifts perfectly with no grinds and clutch has smooth engagement. Compression test was done last week and all cylinders are between 160-163 psi, motor is very healthy. Air conditioning and heat work excellent. All electronics work like factory with no issues. Interior is great shape and is in better shape than would be expected for a 17 year old car. Leather is in great shape with no tears or scratches. The paint on the car is in excellent condition. The front of the car was resprayed to get rid of rock chips and a few scratches. At the same time the engine bay was completely resprayed and clear coated to look as clean as the outside of the car. This supra has all of the original paint besides what I had resprayed. All body panels still retain the original VIN stickers and has a 100 percent clean carfax with no accidents. There are only a few small nicks on the entire car. If you've been looking for an original 1998 quicksilver TT 6 speed you know how much they go for even in questionable condition. This is an original quicksilver supra that has converted to a complete Twin Turbo 6 speed with the majority of the parts being brand new Toyota. I recommend any serious buyers to come inspect the supra in person to see how clean it is. I will gladly do a compression test in front of serious buyers and put the car on the lift to do a complete inspection of the entire car. Toyota raises Japanese base wages for first time since 2008
Fri, 14 Mar 2014Toyota is on track for record profits, and in return, its Japanese workers are receiving their first increase in base wages since 2008, plus higher pay based on seniority and a larger bonus for 2014. The Japanese automaker predicts the average laborer will net a 2.9 percent income gain.
The average Toyota employee will earn 2,700 yen ($26.28) more each month, a 0.8 percent increase from last year. Workers will also receive about 7,300 yen ($71.09) more monthly based on seniority and promotions. Finally, the company's union pushed through a median bonus of 2.44 million yen ($23,768) for 2014, the highest in 6 years.
The pay boost comes as Toyota forecasts a record 1.9-trillion yen ($18.5 billion) profit for the fiscal year ending on March 31, according to Bloomberg. It has been helped by the Japanese government's efforts to weaken the yen on international markets and expand inflation. Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has been asking businesses to increase compensation to end years of deflation and offset upcoming higher sales taxes. Honda and Nissan have also raised their wages there in recent months.
Toyota profits up 23% on high US sales, despite mounting legal costs
Tue, 05 Feb 2013Toyota earned $9.3 billion in net income in the financial year that ends next month. The number beats earlier forecasts and marks a five-year high for the automaker, with both operating income and revenue up by 9.5 percent and 2.5 percent, respectively. Toyota saw quarterly profit enjoy a year-on-year jump of 23.4 percent, with the manufacturer earning more than $1 billion between October and December 2012. The good news comes in spite of the fact that the Japanese automaker actually endured an operating loss in North America, due in part to legal fees.
Toyota is set to pay more than $1 billion to owners who claim their vehicles decreased in value as a result of the company's recent spate of recalls. Even so, all three of the automaker's brands enjoyed a 13.5 percent sales increase in the US in the last quarter, beating the industry average. Toyota faltered in Europe, however, where it earned $99 million in operating profit last year, compared to $111 million in 2011. Japanese automakers kick in $800k for new charging-station company
Mon, Jun 2 2014Cynics may say that gathering $800,000 (total) from four of Japan's largest automakers is merely a rounding error. Still, Toyota, Nissan, Honda and Mitsubishi, along with the Development Bank of Japan, are putting those funds to good use. So, that's something. Last week, those five entities officially founded Nippon Charge Service LLC. The company was established to promote plug-in vehicle charging installations across Japan and the automakers seeded it with 80 million yen, or about $786,000 US. Those funds will be used to help business owners deploy charging stations at convenience stores, highway-side locales and other locations that will make it easier for plug-in vehicle drivers (of Toyotas, Hondas, Mitsubishis and Nissans, obviously) to get their juice. The automakers first announced they'd collaborate last year, when they said they'd work with the Japanese government to more than triple the country's publicly accessible chargers to about 17,000 units. No targets were disclosed as far as how many charging stations would be deployed this time out, but, in a move similar to the EZ Charge system in the US, Nippon Charge Service will also have universally-accepted charging cards available by the end of the year to drivers all of those brands' plug-in vehicles to make the charging process a little more seamless.
