Up for sale is a beautiful 1998 Original Quicksilver Toyota Supra with Targa Top. This Quicksilver originally started life as a non turbo and was fully restored to a Factory Twin Turbo 6 speed supra, even down to brand new OEM engine and chassis harness. There are no leaks, no vibrations, no smoking. Transmission shifts perfectly with no grinds and clutch has smooth engagement. Compression test was done last week and all cylinders are between 160-163 psi, motor is very healthy. Air conditioning and heat work excellent. All electronics work like factory with no issues. Interior is great shape and is in better shape than would be expected for a 17 year old car. Leather is in great shape with no tears or scratches. The paint on the car is in excellent condition. The front of the car was resprayed to get rid of rock chips and a few scratches. At the same time the engine bay was completely resprayed and clear coated to look as clean as the outside of the car. This supra has all of the original paint besides what I had resprayed. All body panels still retain the original VIN stickers and has a 100 percent clean carfax with no accidents. There are only a few small nicks on the entire car. If you've been looking for an original 1998 quicksilver TT 6 speed you know how much they go for even in questionable condition. This is an original quicksilver supra that has converted to a complete Twin Turbo 6 speed with the majority of the parts being brand new Toyota. I recommend any serious buyers to come inspect the supra in person to see how clean it is. I will gladly do a compression test in front of serious buyers and put the car on the lift to do a complete inspection of the entire car. 2015 Toyota Camry Hybrid
Mon, 22 Sep 2014Toyota offers many flavors of its refreshed 2015 Camry, but those who choose to lower their operating cost-per-mile, squeeze 500-plus miles out of each tank of fuel or run a very efficient and reliable sedan in their taxi fleets will only be interested in one: the Camry Hybrid.
The exterior of the 2015 Camry Hybrid is nearly indistinguishable from its gasoline-only counterparts, with the same all-new sheetmetal and bumpers. The Hybrid is offered in LE, SE and XLE trims, meaning customers are offered base, sport or luxury configurations, respectively.
While Toyota expended quite a bit of effort resculpting and improving the 2015 Camry Hybrid, one area it didn't touch was the powertrain - it is virtually identical to last year's model (just like the gas version). Under the hood is a 2.5-liter Atkinson cycle four-cylinder gasoline engine (156 horsepower and 156 pound-feet of torque) and an electric tractive motor (141 horsepower and 199 pound-feet of torque). Combined, and running through Toyota's unique Hybrid Synergy Drive electronic continuously variable transmission, the two produce 200 horsepower (Toyota does not list a combined torque figure, and we've asked for clarification). A 1.6 kilowatt-hour nickel-metal-hydride battery, packaged behind the rear seats, provides energy storage.
Toyota Europe boss says 'reasonable number' of fuel cell vehicles on the way
Thu, Apr 17 2014We know that Toyota is gung-ho about delivering its first hydrogen fuel cell sedan to early-adopter markets like southern California and part of Japan next year. The Japanese automaker's European H2 plans have long been part of the mix, but a new press release shows just how committed Toyota is to hydrogen all around the world. "The volume will be limited, but they will be visible on the streets" – Didier Leroy Toyota says hydrogen fuel cells are a "major, but logical next step" after the company's pioneering work on gas-electric hybrids for 15 years. Didier Leroy, president of Toyota Motor Europe (pictured), said in a statement that he knows there will be H2 hurdles, and so Toyota will start with "a reasonable number of cars" in Europe. "The volume will be limited," he said, "but they will be visible on the streets." Karl Schlicht, Toyota Motor Europe executive vice president, compares Toyota's current hydrogen progress with where the company was with hybrid's in the not-too-distant past. When it comes to infrastructure and cost, he said, "There is of course a long way to go, as with any game-changing technology, but remember the same was said about hybrid only 10 years ago." Back in 2010, we promised our first fuel cell car for 2015 and we are fully on track to honour our commitment. "Fuel cell is a technology that can secure our concept of personal mobility. Toyota produces millionth truck in Texas
Thu, 19 Sep 2013After going online in 2006, Toyota's San Antonio, Texas truck plant has just built its one-millionth vehicle, the 2014 Tundra 1794 Edition you see above. The plant originally focused on just the Tundra pickup, but the smaller Tacoma started rolling off the line there in 2010, as well.
Fittingly, the 1794 Edition (a new premium trim level for 2014) pays homage to the property on which the Toyota plant now resides - a ranch that was founded in 1794.
