UPDATED: Comes with BRAND NEW Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires!!

1993 Toyota Supra MKIV Twin Turbo (Targa top)

Automatic Transmission
71000 miles
Black w/ tan interior

Mostly highway miles. Never raced, never beaten up, always adult drivers, never driven in snow or salt.
No performance mods. I was given a downpipe but never had it installed (will give it to the buyer if they want it)
Always used Amsoil oil
Always used premium non-ethanol gas
Never had a single mechanical problem with it at all
Note that one of the pics shows it with the stock rims on. I no longer have these and they will not be included
Stock with the exception of...
* K&N cone air filter (still have the stock box)
* 18" Enkei RP03 staggered rims (8.5 front, 9.5 rear) - rims are in perfect shape and look awesome - no rash or anything
* brand new Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires (June 2013)
* NOTE: I have a brand new, never mounted set of Forgestar F14 rims (piano black) that are 18x9.5 front and 18x10 rear with new General tires on them. If you would like these instead of the Enkei rims and Michelin tires, I will swap them out for you.
* tinted windows (professionally done)
* Viper alarm (not so much put in for the alarm but moreso for the keyless entry)
* Blitz turbo timer (to protect the turbos)
* Greddy boost guage (mounted where the clock goes - still have the clock somewhere)
* Calipers custom painted red w/ Supra logo in yellow

Condition...
* The front of the hood has some rock chips from highway driving.
* There is a small ding probably the size of a quarter or so in the rear quarter panel (driver side I think?) I was going to take it to a local guy who does paintless dent repair to see if he can fix it, but again, it isnt a huge deal.

The engine pic shows it with the stock air box. I have a K&N cone filter in there now. Stock air box is included with the sale.

Payment must be made by bank wire after a $500 deposit via Paypal
Shipping is the buyers responsibility but I will help find a shipping company or help deliver it if it isnt too far. Email me to discuss.

I also have a 1993 Mazda RX7 Twin Turbo (Stock with 25,000 original miles!) for sale if you are interested in buying them both. You will certainly have the best garage around. Check out my other auctions for it.

Toyota drops detail about 414-hp Hybrid-R concept powertrain

Fri, 30 Aug 2013

The Toyota Yaris Hybrid-R Concept has been teased already, offering up little glimpses and details of the Frankfurt-bound vehicle. And while those few, shadowy shots have been great, we've really wanted to know how this hatchback would deliver its promised 400-plus horsepower. Under hood sits a 1.6-liter, race-derived, direct-injection, turbocharged four-cylinder that powers the front wheels. Sounds peachy, but with 414 horsepower splashed across the page, we're going to need something more than a 1.6-liter, turbo four.
A supercapacitor, developed from the Toyota TS030 Hybrid Le Mans racer sits in place of a hybrid's traditional battery packs. The benefit, according to Toyota, is that power can be more rapidly absorbed and discharged than in a traditional battery system, like nickel metal-hydride.
The gas engine is joined by a trio of 60-horsepower electric motors. Two of the them power the rear wheels, while the third sits between the engine and the six-speed, sequential gearbox. Developing the same amount of power as the rear-axle motors, this centrally located motor channels power to the race-derived supercapacitor during braking, and ships extra grunt to the rear wheels under acceleration when the front wheels start to lose grip. Besides the distributive power of the central motor, the rear electric motors can adjust the amount of torque flowing to each wheel, much like a differential.

180,000 new vehicles are sitting, derailed by lack of transport trains

Wed, 21 May 2014

If you're planning on buying a new car in the next month or so, you might want to pick from what's on the lot, because there could be a long wait for new vehicles from the factory. Locomotives continue to be in short supply in North America, and that's causing major delays for automakers trying to move assembled cars.
According to The Detroit News, there are about 180,000 new vehicles waiting to be transported by rail in North America at the moment. In a normal year, it would be about 69,000. The complications have been industry-wide. Toyota, General Motors, Honda and Ford all reported experiencing some delays, and Chrysler recently had hundreds of minivans sitting on the Detroit waterfront waiting to be shipped out.
The problem is twofold for automakers. First, the fracking boom in the Bakken oil field in the Plains and Canada is monopolizing many locomotives. Second, the long, harsh winter is still causing major delays in freight train travel. The bad weather forced trains to slow down and carry less weight, which caused a backup of goods to transport. The auto companies resorted to moving some vehicles by truck, which was a less efficient but necessary option.

Report: Daihatsu leaving European market

Sun, 16 Jan 2011

More than any other, two carmaking giants sit at the top of the industry: Toyota and General Motors. But while GM sells under a (shrinking but still) expansive range of brands, the Toyota Motor Corporation sells most of its vehicles under its own name. That doesn't mean that Toyota, however, doesn't have its own portfolio of subsidiaries. Here in the United States we have the youth-oriented Scion division, while Lexus handles its upscale offerings, and overseas there's Daihatsu.
The budget brand offers a range of small cars under its own name; most are hatchbacks, but there's also the Copen roadster and even a rebadged Camry called the Altis. You may have come across some of their offerings while traveling overseas, particularly in Europe, but that last part is about to come to an end, according to reports.
Word from across the pond is that Toyota plans to withdraw Daihatsu from the European market altogether. The move would reportedly take effect in 2013, and if it comes to pass, would follow similar withdrawals from the North American (1992) and Australian (2006) markets. Thanks for the tip, William!
