1989 Toyota Supra Turbo Hatchback 2-door 3.0l 2954cc L6 Gas Dohc Turbocharged on 2040-cars
Pasadena, Maryland, United States
1989 Toyota Supra Turbo Traga Top Hatchback 2-Door 3.0L 2954CC l6 GAS DOHC Turbocharged RWD. this car is in great condition for the age. This is truly a one owner car. it runs and drives great no idiot lights. out of a 10 its a overall 9.5 in my opinion. of course every one knows every ones opinion is different. the paints not perfect but in my opinion its a 9.5 interior in my opinion is an 9.5. the motor runs absolutely perfict. the only mechanical failure during inspection was that the front
rotors were a tiny bit under specs. I had those replaced. the rear
pads didn't fail, but he said they were close. I also had him replace
those while he was there. the tires were replaced about 4 thousand miles ago. less than 500
miles on them, I had a new clutch assy installed, along with a new master
and slave cylinder. while having a synthetic oil change 300 miles ago, I had my
mechanic do a pre inspection on it. He noticed the ball joints had play
in them. I had them replaced with original Toyota parts. he also
mentioned that the hood shocks would fail. I replaced the front ones ,
along with the rear ones. everything works on the car. air condition blows cold, power windows work perfect, locks, cruise control. car is not actually inspected though. the only thing it
needs to pass is a windshield, and to have the tint removed. the
windshield is tinted, so you don't notice it from outside the car. also
it is not a distraction while driving. it goes from top to bottom,
right in the middle. if a Maryland buyer wins the bid, I will replace
the windshield for $100. I will also remove the tint and get a
inspection certificate. car is sold as is with on warranty with a clear title. 500 deposit due with in 24 hr of auction end. car has to be picked up or u arrange shipping. its all ur responsibility. if u need assistance shipping like getting the car to the shipper its a possibility just ask no promises. any question just call me at 443-577-7228 or 443-618-1629 good luck.

Recharge Wrap-up: BMW plans for retired batteries; automakers support dual-standard chargers
Sun, Feb 1 2015Toyota will test hybrids with silicon-carbide (SiC) power semiconductors. In Japan, Toyota has put the SiC power semiconductors into the power control units of a Camry Hybrid prototype and a fuel cell bus for a year-long test. Research suggests the SiC units will decrease electrical losses while managing power supply, thus improving overall powertrain efficiency. Current power semiconductors account for about 20 percent of electrical losses, and success with these tests could mean more efficient hybrids on the roads in the future. Read more at Hybrid Cars. Automakers from CCS and CHAdeMO camps are supporting dual-standard charging station networks. https://www.autoblog.com/bmw/, Volkswagen (CCS camp) and ChargePoint announced plans to build "express charging corridors" by installing about 100 DC fast chargers, many of which will support both types of charging. Kansas City Power & Light is partnering with Nissan (CHAdeMO camp) and ChargePoint to install DC chargers that "will charge any model of electric vehicle on the market." This leads the folks at Green Car Reports to look into whether this ends the looming standard war between automakers in the US. Read more at Green Car Reports. BMW, Bosch and utility company Vattenfall are making plans for a second life for retired BMW i3 batteries. The Second Life Batteries Alliance project will recycle the old lithium ion battery packs - which can still hold a charge - in off-grid storage and grid-stabilization applications, beginning with a grid storage system in Hamburg, Germany. Bosch has created a battery management algorithm to extend the life of the batteries and make sure they don't cause harm to Vattenfall's facilities. Read more at Transport Evolved.
Vice chronicles Okinawa's illegal street racing scene
Mon, 10 Mar 2014We all know that street racing is dangerous, and that motorsports are best left on the track or drag strip. However, that doesn't mean that there still isn't some outlaw allure among enthusiasts of racing on public roads. In this video, Vice Japan profiles Eikichi Nagayoshi of Japan's island of Okinawa. He is a used car dealer by day and an illegal racer by night.
Nagayoshi has a deep love for his highly customized Toyota Aristo (better known to us as a first-generation Lexus GS) that he claims produces over 1,000 horsepower and has hit 205 miles per hour. He races his car both on drag strips and in drifting competitions, but says that he often has to ship the car to mainland Japan to compete. In the absence of those opportunities, he sometimes gathers friends and takes the racing to the public roads. While we're not down with street racing, this Vice video is an intriguing personality piece, as well as a look into Japan's fabled underground racing scene. Scroll down to check out the video, but make sure you have the "CC" button clicked, because several portions are subtitled.
New drifting world record set in Toyota GT86
Wed, 30 Jul 2014We have entered a drifting arms race. Last year, BMW smashed the Guinness World Record for the longest drift by hanging the tail out for 51.3 miles around a wet skid pad in an M5 at the BMW Performance Driving School in South Carolina. That beat the previous milestone of nearly seven miles. Now, Bimmer's record is up in smoke as well and is in the possession of a Toyota.
German driver Harald Müller pummeled the old record to drift for 89.55 miles around a 0.15-mile (235.5-meter) course in Samsun, Turkey, in a Toyota GT86 (or Scion FR-S as it's known in the US). According to the Guinness World Records website, it took him 612 laps and 2 hours, 25 minutes and 18 seconds to manage the achievement. Sit back to watch a few minutes of the German's two and a half hours behind the wheel with the tail out.
