Tallahassee, Florida, United States
2007 Toyota Sienna LE Minivan NO RESERVE, 5-DAY LISTING **PLEASE READ CONDITION AND DESCRIPTION** **I AM LISTING MY VAN AGAIN BECAUSE THE FIRST WINNING BIDDER NEVER CONTACTED US TO MAKE PAYMENT** We are selling the family van. We purchased it in 2008. Up until last week, it has been the most excellent and reliable vehicle we have owned. Always starts and never leaves you stranded. The transmission went out last week and I do not want to make the investment in the rebuild kit. We are selling this "as-is", so please understand it needs a transmission re-build. The van still starts right up and runs strong, but due to the transmission, it cannot be driven and must be towed from our house The van has power windows, locks, driver's seat and mirrors. Cold A/C. Cruise. CD player. Also other typical features one would expect from a 2007 Sienna LE. It has been a family car and we have 3 kids, so please expect that there will be wear and stains / marks on cloth interior. The interior has stains on carpet and it could use a shampooing. We have not shampooed the carpets or used any cleaner on the cloth seats. The car does have good tires all around. PLEASE REVIEW ALL OF THE PHOTOS AS I TRIED TO REPRESENT THE CAR & KNOWN ISSUES AS BEST POSSIBLE Here are the other Known Issues that I am aware of: **PLEASE READ CAREFULLY THROUGH THEM**. We are selling the van "as-is". See all photos. Ask questions if you're not sure. - The transmission recently went out, so it needs a transmission re-build. - Dent on driver rear of bumper - Small dent on top of passenger front corner panel - Missing one wheel cover (driver rear) - Tire pressure light is illuminated - electronic air sensor in one tire is damaged (occurred at walmart when they were replacing a tire and we never got back with them to have it replaced) - The check engine light has been on for 3 years but our mechanic told us this was caused by a sensor which was not of importance so we never replaced it. The van has run perfectly so this was never an issue to us. - The glove box latch does not latch tightly - We taped over the rubber cover of the rear hatch latch because the florida heat had worn it (it works fine) - My wife accidentally spilled latex paint in the rear storage compartment last year (we never made a big attempt at cleaning it up or removing it and you will see it in the photos) - We have toggled the auto-sliding side door to off / manual operation (there is a switch for this near the driver) position because the auto-close was getting stuck on occasion (it works just fine in the manual if you don't mind not having the auto-feature THANK YOU FOR LOOKING. PLEASE CALL WITH ANY QUESTIONS. PAYMENT IN FULL DUE WITHIN 7 DAYS. VEHICLE IS LOCATED IN TALLAHASSEE FLORIDA. DUE TO THE TRANSMISSION ISSUE, VEHICLE WILL NEED TO BE TOWED. 850-294-7121 |

Why Toyota's fuel cell play is one big green gamble
Mon, Feb 3 2014Imagine going to the ballet on Saturday evening for an 8 pm performance. The orchestra begins warming up shortly before the show, but it turns out the star performer isn't ready at the appointed time. The orchestra keeps playing, doing its best to keep the audience engaged and, most importantly, in the building. It keeps this up until the star finally shows and is ready to dance ... which turns out to be ten years later. That's a Samuel Beckett play. It's also how many observers, analysts, alt-fuel fans and alt-fuel intenders feel about the arrival of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles (FCVs) – the few of them who are still in the building, that is. Toyota's hydrogen development timeline rivals that of the US space program. In fact, within the halls of Toyota alone, research on FCVs has been going on for nearly 22 years, meaning that one company's development timeline for FCVs rivals that of the US space program – it was 1945 when Werner von Braun's team began re-assembling Germany's World War II V2 rockets and figuring out how to launch them into space and it wasn't until 1969 when a man set landing gear down on that sunlit lunar quarry. The development of the atom bomb only took half as long, and that's if we go all the way back to when Leo Szilard patented the mere idea of it, in 1934. Carmakers didn't give up on hydrogen in spite of the public having given up on carmakers ever making something of it, so there was a good chance that hydrogen criers announcing the mass-market adoption of periodic chart element number two one would eventually be right. Now is that time. And Toyota, not alone in researching FCVs but arguably having done the most to keep FCVs in the news, isn't even going to be first to market. That honor will go to Hyundai, surprising just about everyone at the LA Auto Show with news of a hydrogen fuel cell Tucson going on sale in the spring. The other bit of thunder stolen: while Toyota's talking about trying to get the price of its offering down to something between $50,000 and $100,000, Hyundai is pitching its date with the future at a lease price of $499 per month ($250 more than the lease price of a conventional Tucson), free hydrogen and maintenance, and availability at Enterprise Rent-A-Car if you just want to try it out. We've seen and driven Toyota's offering and we all know its success doesn't depend on cross-shopping, showroom dealing and lease sweeteners.
DoJ fines Japanese parts firms $740M in massive automotive price-fixing scandal
Fri, 27 Sep 2013Nine Japanese suppliers have pleaded guilty in US court over charges of price fixing in the automotive parts industry, resulting in the Department of Justice doling out a total of $740 million of fines, according to a report from Bloomberg. The scandal, which has resulted in General Motors, Ford, Toyota and Chrysler spending up to $5 billion on inflated parts and driving up prices on 25 million vehicles has sent the DoJ hustling into investigations. "The conduct this investigation uncovered involved more than a dozen separate conspiracies aimed at the U.S. economy," Attorney General Eric Holder (pictured above) said during yesterday's press conference.
As the investigation stands, the DoJ has issued $1.6 billion in fines against 20 companies and 21 individual executives, with 17 of the execs headed to prison. Deputy Assistant Attorney General Scott Hammond said, "The breadth of the conspiracies brought to light today are as egregious as they are pervasive. They involve more than a dozen separate conspiracies operating independently but all sharing in common that they targeted US automotive manufacturers."
Big-name suppliers indicted in the investigation include Mitsubishi Electric, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Hitachi Automotive and Mitsuba Corporation. A list of fines and other corporations named in the investigation is available at Bloomberg.
Subprime financing on the rise in new car sales, leasing too
Fri, 07 Dec 2012We all remember the financial crisis that began several years back. At its core was a splurge of subprime lending for housing loans. The housing bubble burst, triggering a collapse of the mortgage-backed securities market. Apparently, those types of loans still exist in the automotive industry, and the market share for these types of "nonprime, subprime, and deep subprime," loans has grown 13.6 percent compared to the third quarter a year ago.
According to an Automotive News report, high-risk lending expanded to 24.8 percent of total loans in Q3, up from 21.9 percent for this time last year. As this level increased, average credit scores of borrowers dropped to 755, down from 763 a year ago. In that time, the average financing amount increased $90 per vehicle, to $25,963.
At 818, Volvo maintains the highest per-owner credit score, while Mitsubishi has the lowest, at 694. The highest rate of borrowers was at Toyota, with 14 percent of the market, followed by Ford with 13.1 percent and Chevrolet at 11.1.
