One owner, purchased new in December 2000 (originally leased, then bought from World Omni), this van was garage kept from 2001 through 2009. Has newer tires, and all systems are 100% operational! We have had the oil changed since new every 5,000 miles with Mobil-One pure synthetic motor oil, and all fluids have been recently changed. All maintenance is current, and we would not hesitate to take this car on an extended trip. Engine is solid and like new. Driven only by my wife (a housewife), average annual miles driven have been under 7,200 per year. This was primarily a vacation/pleasure car, and we took road trips from Jacksonville to North Carolina, Virginia, and Washington DC. For it's age, it is in better than mint condition, and with the care we have taken with the car, it should easily run like new for 10+ more years. You have to see to appreciate!
Loaded to the max when we ordered it, the following is a partial list of options:
Power Seats, power windows, power rear sliding doors with remote for both sides, birds eye maple dash and door trim, automatic A/C system, rear A/C system, video entertainment system, Premium JBL Sound system AM/FM/CD Changer (6 DC's), with nine JBL speakers, power sun/moon roof, auto adjusting rear view mirror (blocks tail-gators with bright lights), compass built into rear view mirror, built in Homelink system that controls up to 3 garage doors, leather seats and trim, cruise control, steering wheel mounted stereo system controls, roof/luggage rack, towing system package, running boards, tire pressure monitoring system, dual between the seat consoles - one for CD's, and the other for drinks and storage, complete Toyo-gard protection package with etched windows, and so much more. We still have the original sticker showing the new car price of $47,000 and all the options. Way too many to type out!

Anti-EV messaging alive and well at Toyota, sort of
Thu, Jul 10 2014The folks at Toyota in Japan can be pretty blunt about electric-vehicle technology prospects as a viable transportation alternative to the internal combustion engine. Here in the states? Slightly more sanguine. Toyota global head of research and development Mitsuhisa Kato, according to Automotive News, discounts the potential of substantial EV sales in the near future because the appropriate technology that provides comparable driving distances and fill-up times relative to conventional vehicles doesn't yet exist. While Toyota has been conducting testing programs with shorter-commute-distance EVs in countries such as Japan and France, its only production EV in the US is the RAV4 EV, and Toyota sold just 546 of those in the States during the first half of the year. Toyota is much more excited about the debut of its first hydrogen fuel-cell production vehicle, in both Japan and the US, next year. Toyota Motor North America spokeswoman Jana Hartline was a little more charitable when discussing the EV's prospects in an interview with AutoblogGreen. "For shorter range, EVs serve a really great purpose, but as far as having equal mile range to an internal combustion engine, there's going to need to be some serious breakthroughs," Hartline said. "And that where the fuel cell comes in." Last month, Toyota said its fuel-cell sedan that will debut in Japan next April will be priced at about $69,000, though the company emphasized that it shouldn't be assumed it will be priced similarly in the US and Europe. Toyota hasn't released many performance details, though the sedan is expected to have a full (hydrogen) tank range of about 435 miles, or about five times that of a Nissan Leaf. Toyota's Texas move could boost state's economy by $7.2B in 10 years
Thu, 15 May 2014They say everything is bigger in Texas, and apparently that includes the Toyota's effect on the economy. The giant Japanese automaker's new headquarters in Plano, TX, will add an estimated $7.2 billion to the state over the next 10 years, according to a new study commissioned by the city and cited by Bloomberg.
The benefits appear to be an absolute steal compared to the direct incentives that Plano and the state are giving Toyota. The report finds that by the time the automaker's campus is complete in 2018, it could have 3,650 full-time workers there at an average salary of $104,000. The city has prepared $6.75 million in grants, plus property tax discounts, according to Bloomberg. In addition to that, the state is offering the business $40 million in incentives from its Texas Enterprise Fund. This is still a fraction of what Toyota is estimated to bring in.
Toyota announced in April that it would move its US operations to Plano after being headquartered in California since 1957. The move affects thousands of employees from the sales and engineering divisions. The first workers will arrive there this fall, but Toyota will eventually have a whole campus in Plano by late 2017. The move is expected to save it huge amounts in taxation and offer employees a lower cost of living. Toyota North America CEO Jim Lentz also says that the Texas location puts the headquarters closer to more of the business' factories in the south. Texas certainly appears to be showing it some southern hospitality.
Toyota may return to F1 under Lexus banner
Wed, 03 Apr 2013A new report in from the website Club Lexus claims to have insider knowledge about a return to Formula One racing by Toyota, this time under the auspices of the Lexus brand. Toyota competed in F1 from 2002 through the 2009 season. That final year saw the team return competitive, if inconsistent results, but the larger economic woes in the automotive market made a decision to pull the plug relatively easy at the time.
Now, citing recent interviews with Toyota executives and insider sources, Club Lexus says that the move to re-enter F1 for the 2014 season is "all but finalized." The choice to go with the Lexus nameplate over Toyota makes some sense, too, considering the success that rival Infiniti has had in recent years through its partnership with Red Bull Racing. Further, the emerging Lexus identity as a performance car builder, with a strong background in hybrid vehicles, could help the F1 move resonate with buyers.
A few technological factors and formula changes within F1 offer some credence to the Lexus rumor, too. F1 will increase the available capacity of KERS from 60kW to 120kW, a change that theoretically benefits the hybrid-savvy Toyota. What's more, 2014 will see a switch from the current 2.4-liter V8 engines to 1.6-liter turbocharged V6s. A Lexus team that goes racing in 2014 will be on a level playing field with the rest of the grid then, with all teams adjusting to and continuing to develop the new engines.
