Up for auction is my 2001 Toyota Sequoia, just needed something bigger so this one has to go. I have driven everywhere in this so I know the truck as well as anyone. Well maintained, Timing belt was done 75K miles ago so your choice whether or not you want to change it. This Sequoia runs as good as the day it was new, plenty of power and the transmission shifts exactly as it should. No issues mechanically, the only issues with the SUV are what you would expect with a 12 year old vehicle with 235k miles on it. So to put it plainly this is not perfect but it is a very nice looking and excellent SUV that needs minor cosmetic issues to be addressed or drive it as is. It is 2WD, has the factory sunroof (it is a little slow but still works), roof rack, tow package, good Yokohama tires, 16" alloy wheels, cold a/c, third row seat (third row is cloth but the other two rows are leather, power windows/locks, factory running boards, keyless entry. THe good is that is still looks great, runs and drives beautifully and will do just about anything a full size SUV should. Now for the not so good. Nothing major just some things worth noting. First, the cable on the rear hatch has stretched and will need to be replaced. The liftgate handle is fine it just doesn't want to lift (I noticed that it got harder and harder to disengage until finally it just doesn't want to lift up too easily anymore. Rear glass goes up and down fine so you still have access to the rear area. The truck has some nicks on the rear bumper from use, and inside the cargo area it has scratches and general signs of use as it has been used to haul things over the years. Driver seat is in fair condition and suffers a few tears, the armrest too is in bad shape (pictured). Second row seat carpet area is in bad shape behind the driver, looks like something spilled and ruined the carpet there. Leather seats are otherwise good but they show wear and are not new. Sunroof is a little slow to move forward, it retracts fine. Front bumper has some chips as you would expect. Check engine light has been on for years, bad O2 sensor that doesn't effect performance in any way. In all this is a great truck that is ready for years of use. These Toyota SUVs are the best made and of course are as durable of a vehicle that you will ever find. I love this truck but just need something a little bigger. I am sure I missed something here so email or call me at 912-677-8965 and I will be glad to answer any questions. No reserve but the Sequoia is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. Thanks for looking.

Toyota issues multiple recalls for 6.4 million vehicles worldwide
Wed, 09 Apr 2014It looks like 2014 may go down as the year of recalls. We were already at a record pace, and now it seems Toyota is recalling 6.39 million vehicles worldwide, including about 30 of its models for a variety of problems. None of the faults have caused any injuries or fatalities, but there have been two reports of fires caused by a defective engine starter motor.
Toyota's numbers show 1.772 million vehicles being recalled in the US, but that includes some overlap because the Yaris is being repaired for multiple faults. According to The Detroit News, there are 2.36 million affected models in all of north North America, 1.09 million in Japan and 810,000 in Europe, plus smaller numbers in other regions.
Among the vehicles recalled in the US are 1.3 million units of the 2009-2010 Corolla, Matrix and Tacoma, the 2008-2010 Highlander, the 2006-2008 Rav4 and 2006-2010 Yaris. The problem is that the driver's airbag module is attached via a spiral electrical cable. The connections on the cable can be damaged when the steering wheel is turned, which deactivates the airbag and causes the airbag warning light to come on. Toyota is replacing the cable with an improved part, but it's still making preparations to begin the repair. The company is sending affected owners notifications in the mail. According to The Detroit News, an unspecified number of Pontiac Vibe vehicles are also included in this recall because it shares the part with the Matrix.
West Coast labor dispute hampers Japanese automakers' US plants
Wed, Feb 18 2015The ongoing labor dispute between the International Longshore and Warehouse Union and port owners along the West Coast is starting to affect more Japanese automakers building vehicles in the US. The issue already forced Honda and Subaru to take the expensive option of airlifting some parts into the US weeks ago, and according to USA Today, Toyota and Nissan have begun doing so, as well. The choice hasn't been cheap, though, and Subaru's chief financial officer estimated that the decision cost around $60 million more per month than sending components by cargo ship. The effects continue to radiate, according to USA Today, and shortages of some models are possible. Honda is slowing production at its factories in Ohio, Indiana and Canada because the automaker doesn't have enough transmissions and electronics for some vehicles. Toyota already cut back on overtime at some factories. Nissan has only seen a small effect from the issue, though, because of its local suppliers. Dock workers and port owners have been negotiating on a new contract since last year, and the union has organized work slowdowns in response. According to USA Today, the automakers could move shipments to Canada or Mexico, but it would take longer for parts to arrive.
