---NO RESERVE AUCTION--- ALL BIDDERS WELCOME!!!  2002 Toyota RAV 4 L 4WD Sport Utility 4-Door 2.0L. Vehicle is Maryland State Inspected. ONE OWNER/ NEW CAR TRADE.  When people say the word Toyota, it usually is followed with compliments like reliable, durable, and of course...great on gas.  This Toyota Rav 4 L 4WD combines all of those compliments and more. It has the strong proud stance you expect to have when driving an SUV, yet remains compact enough to maneuver through heavily traffic. Not to mention possessing the ability to park in the city, an inconvenient issue with most SUV's.  The vehicle is a smart buy for any lucky bidder. Fuel economy plus all terrain capability. 28 MPG hwy. The 2.0L engine is chain driven, not belt driven. This means no need to rip up the entire engine to replace the timing belt when they wear down. There are no lights on the dash concerning check engine or any other faulty equipment. Sharp handling of a sport car, transmission shifts smooth, and the engine is calm and stable, brakes are quite and responsive. Drove the vehicle last weekend and it was a pleasure to drive. Still has a new car smell, evidence this vehicle has had its fair share of TLC, probably never been smoked in.  Upholstery is for the most part flawless. Rear seats fold down for more hauling capacity, and can even be completely removed if need. Perfect for the grocery store or even a run to Home Depot. There are two 12 volt power sources, one located in the center console, and one in the rear by the hatch door. Strong heater/ Air Conditioning very cold and immediate. Crucial for the summer. The Rav 4 L package includes Cd player & cassette, cruise control, sunroof, power locks, power windows, luggage rack, rear spoiler, finished spare tire case on the rear door, 4 tires are like new with plenty of tread life left.  Can seat 5 adults with plenty of leg room for all. Child seat anchors and rear door child safety locks for those looking for that extra sense of security every family requires. Now with everything said and done this vehicle is over 10 years old, it will have a few apologies on the body and one spot on the right rear bumper. There are a couple dimples on the both driver and passenger side doors. The pictures provided was taken at the best possible angle to show the imperfection. You can't really see it very well in the picture because is hard to see in person as well. The most apparent points of interest are located on front bumper (some rock chips). There are some scratches on the hood and by the door handle where the keys are inserted. These cosmetic flaws are very minor and are not very noticeable. Pictures have been provided to show every and all issues. Bidders are encourage come inspect vehicle or have someone inspect it for them. Give us a call (410)282 7979. Good Luck. HAPPY BIDDING!!!

Maryland Residence are required to pay sales tax, title, tags, etc...  If outside the state of Maryland the bidder is responsible to pay taxes and fees required by their individual state.  There is a $199 doc processing fee on top of the winning bid. Bidders are responsible for contacting the transport company and any fees that apply to ship the vehicle.

Sports 800 is a progenitor of Toyota performance

Tue, 18 Nov 2014

There's an automotive axiom that claims it's more fun to drive a slow car fast, than a fast car slow. If that's the case, then pushing a Toyota Sports 800 around must be one of the most exhilarating experiences behind the wheel in the world. With just 800cc of displacement from a two-cylinder boxer engine, the focus is on finesse over outright speed. Still, it's a fantastic page in Toyota's performance history, and Petrolicious takes a ride with a man who owns a meticulously restored 1967 example in its latest video.
The Sports 800 used the classic cost-saving strategy in the auto industry of taking parts from a standard model in the lineup and modifying it into a sports car. In this case that meant borrowing the engine from the plebian Toyota Publica, beefing it up for more power and clothing the whole thing a in beautifully shaped, wind-tunnel-honed body.
The look of these lithe, targa roadsters is the exact opposite of the rather dull styling sometimes associated with Toyota today. Everywhere you look there are louvers, vents or curves to draw the eye. Check out the latest Petrolicious video for a detailed look at the history of this rare model that's largely unknown on this side of the Pacific.

Consumer Reports calls on Toyota to recall older Camry Hybrid models

Thu, 31 Jul 2014

Consumer Reports is calling on Toyota to issue an official recall of 178,000 Camry Hybrid sedans from model years 2007 to 2011, claiming that a pair of issues affecting the brakes are so dire they demand a more official action than what the company has undertaken so far.
The first issue, as CR tells it, relates to a clog in the brake-fluid reservoir filter, which if left untreated could lead to a number of dashboard warning lights. The "front brake assist could be temporarily lost," too, according to Toyota's own notice to dealers and owners of affected models. The company has issued a "service campaign" that will fit a new brake-fluid reservoir free of charge to any affected model brought to a dealer by June 30, 2017.
The other issue plaguing the fuel-sipping Camrys is being treated via a warranty extension, and focuses on the ABS brake actuator, a particularly expensive (both in terms of parts, at $1,000, and labor, around $3,000) item that is necessary for the anti-lock braking to function. There's also a related issue with the brake pedal's "stroke sensor," which like the actuator can lead to a very difficult-to-depress brake pedal. The warranty extension increases the coverage of the actuator to 10 years or 150,000 miles (whichever comes first).

2013 Toyota Avalon Hybrid

Mon, 21 Oct 2013

People, us included, make a big stink about the importance of family sedans. There's no doubt they're critical - they represent a huge slice of the market's annual sales and profits. However, despite accounting for far fewer transactions than the midsize sedan segment, the fullsize sedan is getting attention from manufacturers now that our market's entire lineup of those (slightly) smaller four-doors has turned over in the last two years or so. As most of the fullsize segment's mainstays derive a fair bit of their platform and powertrain technologies from their midsize cousins, these larger four-doors offer the potential for fatter profit margins, too. And with the newly stylish duds found on many of the industry's most successful midsize sedans, it's only right that automakers no longer think about fullsizers as big, squishy, vanilla family haulers with flat seats, vague steering and a thin layer of 'luxury' in the form of faux wood trim.
As manufacturers have again started diving into large sedans feet-first, the cars themselves have become sharper. The interiors are now of a higher quality and loaded with tech, while the exteriors have become further extensions of each manufacturer's design language. There's perhaps no greater example of this than the Chevrolet Impala and Ford Taurus, two models that evolved from subpar offerings into market leaders. This segment-wide transformation happened quite quickly, whether because of coincidental timing or because manufacturers are trying to get more out of their big cars, recognizing they account for a small portion of overall sales (just 3.5 percent of the new-car market in the first half of 2013).
The 2013 Toyota Avalon Hybrid is one such vehicle. We remarked on the changes to the V6 variant last year, and while we previously had a quick steer of the gas-electric hybrid, we figured the new model was worth a closer week-long look.
