Up for auction is a 2004 Toyota Prius. I am the original owner of the car since it was purchased new. It has always been garaged and has always had all of its scheduled maintenance done by a Toyota service department. It has approximately 96,000 miles and most of those are highway miles. It is in excellent condition, drives and handles as it should. It is a non smoker car, has never been in an accident accept for a minor bump in a parking lot on the back bumper that was a very minor repair ( I think it was about $300). As you can see from the photos the interior is clean, no rips or tears in the seats. The dash has no cracks. The carpet is clean as well as the carpeted floor mats. There is one small wear hole in the carpet on the driver side. All power features work such as windows door locks, radio, heat, AC, etc. The exterior is also in great shape. It does have the usual stone chips on the front hood area from highway driving and there are a few tiny dings and very minor scratches, not many, from doors in parking lots. They are barely noticeable and you really have to look for them. There is no rust on the car that I could find. The car has a clear title in hand. The car is located in Clinton, Conn. Payment is by Cash or wire transfer and the car must be paid for within seven days of the close of the auction. Thieves still love older Hondas and pickups most, says NICB [w/video]
Wed, 20 Aug 2014No one wants to have their car stolen, but a new study by the National Insurance Crime Bureau has some bad news for older Honda owners and pickup drivers. Fortunately, it has better news for drivers overall. The group is reporting that according to preliminary data from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, thefts were down 3.2 percent in 2013 (versus 2012) to fewer than 700,000 cars. That's the lowest figure since 1967. That's also less than half of the peak of over 1.66 million thefts in 1991. "The drop in thefts is good news for all of us," says NICB President and CEO Joe Wehrle. "But it still amounts to a vehicle being stolen every 45 seconds and losses of over $4 billion a year."
Honda drivers might not find it such good news with older Accord and Civic models topping this year's theft study. Toyota and Dodge can't really celebrate, either, with two models each on the list, as well. Overall, this year's list was split evenly between foreign and domestic models, which were mostly pickups.

Ford only automaker to make 2012 Buzz Rankings, Toyota most improved
Wed, 30 Jan 2013Ford landed itself a spot among the top 10 brands in the 2012 Buzz Rankings. The annual index scores 1,100 brands in 41 categories to determine which nameplates had the most positive buzz throughout the year.
For the third year in a row, Subway took the top honors overall with a score of 40.3, and Ford was the only automaker to break into the top 25 by earning a sixth-place finish overall. The manufacturer earned a score of 32.1 points, which was enough to push it up one spot from the 2011 Buzz Rankings. Honda managed 21.2 points overall, which is still well behind 25th-place Kohl's at 26.5 points. Toyota, Volkswagen and BMW all round out the top five automakers.
The 2012 Buzz Rankings also keep track of which brands improved the most over the past year, and this year, Toyota was the manufacturer with the largest leap forward. The Japanese automaker jumped from just 14 points in 2011 to 20.5 in 2012. Chrysler, Kia, Dodge and Volkswagen all saw sizable steps forward as well.
