Nearly perfect body, never any body work, slight scratches and one parking lot ding (see pictures)."

You are bidding on the world's most popular and successful hybrid car with nearly 15 years of high-reliability.  We purchased this vehicle new from the local Toyota dealer and have had all scheduled maintenance done by the dealer.  The exterior is very clean with some light scratches and one parking lot ding that is shown in the picture.  The interior is also very clean with no tears or scratches. There has never been smoking in this car.  We do have a dog who has ridden in the car but we have just had the car completely detailed in and out and will not have the dog in the car any more.  The tires need replacing and I am happy to replace them as part of the final overall price (I have researched tires that are WAY better than the OEM tires) or you can replace them with tires of your choice.  I would like to have the dealer perform the current major service on the car before we sell it and I will pay for that.  We have loved this car but are moving into our RV full time and do not want to store it for a long time.  I would buy another Prius in a heartbeat and have calculated that we save about $1000 per year on gas vs. a typical 25 MPG car.  It has great pickup, lots of room for passengers and stuff and is VERY quiet and incredibly reliable.  This is a very sweet car and you will pay much more than this for a similar car from a dealer.

Toyota launches new Pixis Epoch kei car in Japan

Sat, 12 May 2012

Kei cars may be small in size, but they're big business in Japan. The latest arrival to the category is the little hatch you see above, the Toyota Pixis Epoch.
It's the fourth vehicle produced by the Daihatsu division but sold under the Toyota brand. As with other keis, power comes from a 660cc engine. It's mated to a continuously variable transmission driving either just the front wheels or all four. In both configurations, the Pixis Epoch features a stop-start system that helps its emissions and fuel efficiency figures come in well below even the Japanese government's stringent standards.
The whole package measures just 3,395 mm (133 inches) long, 1,475 mm (58 inches) wide and 1,500 mm (59 inches) tall, but offers a relatively spacious and utile interior, plus a tight turning radius of just 4.4 meters. Pricing ranges from 795,000 to 1.2 million yen - that's less than $10,000 (and no more than $15k). Further details in the press release after the jump.

Toyota Tacoma helps stand up to your girlfriend, mimes, magicians and the Grim Reaper

Mon, 26 Aug 2013

It takes a lot to get a product noticed in today's fast-paced world, but one avenue that's always seemed to grab the eyeballs of consumers has been humor. Toyota knows this rule well, and has put together a quartet of spots called "Tacoma Wins," in which the midsize pickup's features and specifications best a number of seemingly worthy competitors.
Whether it be sobbing girlfriends, a circus magician, a grim reaper or the scariest thing of all, a mime, the Tacoma looks well equipped to deal with it. Take a look below for all four of Toyota's newest spots.

New version of Toyota FT-1 Concept gets racy for Gran Turismo 6

Thu, 07 Aug 2014

Gran Turismo 6 has been the preferred marketing springboard for quite a few brands and concept cars since its debut last winter. Specifically the GT Vision concept idea - allowing manufacturers a built-in place to offer up new, original, drivable content - has enticed the likes of Mercedes, Nissan, Volkswagen, Toyota and more to dream big on the digital stage before pulling the sheets back on real concept cars.
In fact, Toyota teamed its live reveal of the FT-1 Concept at the Detroit Auto Show with an in-game launch of the car, just this past January. Looking for a second bite at the GT6 apple, Toyota has just released a teaser video for a new, FT-1 Vision GT version of the same concept.
The company isn't giving us much to go on save for the 30-second video, saying only that the concept was penned by Toyota's Calty Design Research team in California, and that it will "soon be available for download." By the looks of it, the new FT-1 seems to be more of a racecar than the original, without obvious changes to the basic form. No word on whether or not there's a physical concept car in the offing at a yet-to-be-named auto show. Stay tuned.
