Hello,

Today my wife & I are selling our 2010 Toyota Prius.

The vehicle was purchased last year at the dealership in Detroit, and has been a fantastic vehicle for us.

We've primarily used the vehicle for in-town commuting and have averaged 54 miles per gallon doing so.

On highway trips the vehicle averages around 36 miles per gallon, and is fantastic especially with soaring fuel prices.

The vehicle has new tires & has been freshly dealer-serviced, as well as, had all the manufacturer recalls addressed.

The vehicle has the highest trim Level-5 & comes packed with every option including the Premium Pearl Paint.

The vehicle is clean, in excellent condition, & has been well cared for.

We are the 2nd owners & have copies of the car-fax, service, maintenance, & addressed manufacturer recalls.

The only flaw(s) the vehicle has, are a few stone chips in front lower bumper region, which the dealership has touched-up.

The vehicle has a clear title, a lien is on the vehicle through Lake-Trust Credit-Union.

The vehicle is located in Lansing, MI and appointments can be made for inspection, and/or test-drives.

The vehicle is one of our daily drivers, and thus, mileage goes up.

The vehicle has a detail appointment next week, after which, we will be posting a YouTube video walk-around.

Please, any & all questions feel free to ask.  All question(s) will be responded to within a 48hr time-frame.

Please serious inquiries only, ie: no tire-kicker's or low-ballers, we are far too busy & in no rush to sell this vehicle.

Take a look at our feedback, as we are 100% positive feedback sellers.

Buyer(s) will be responsible for pick-up / shipping (will work with major shipping companies for scheduling pick-up/ drop-off).

$500 PayPal deposit is required within 24hr's of sale-end/ purchase, with full payment/pick-up completed within 5 days.

Please make sure to have financing prearranged, as all Non-paying purchaser(s) will be reported to Ebay, as well as, affiliates.

Thanks for looking!

Cheers - eN

Hurricane Sandy cost automakers 15,000 vehicles, may have ruined up to 200k

Wed, 07 Nov 2012

Hurricane Sandy was the largest Atlantic storm in US history, and its total economic impact is just now coming into view. According to Automotive News, Toyota, Chrysler, Nissan and Honda are set to scrap around 15,000 new vehicles ruined by the storm. Nissan alone accounts for about 40 percent of those, with 6,000 Nissan and Infiniti models deeded "un-saleable" due to damage. The company saw 56 dealerships shuttered due to the storm, but 51 of those have since reopened.
Toyota, meanwhile, had some 4,000 vehicles at its Newark port facility, and of those, 3,000 may be scrapped. An additional 825 were dealer inventory when they were ruined. Honda and Acura dealers are reportedly sending 3,440 vehicles to the salvage yard. By comparison, Chrysler weathered the storm fairly well with 825 units destroyed, while Hyundai suffered only 400 lost units and Kia scrapped around 200.
As you may recall, Fisker also suffered some losses, and Automotive News reports the manufacturer saw 320 Karma models damaged beyond repair. Ford and General Motors have yet to come up with estimates, and no automaker has commented on the full cost of replacing the vehicles.

BMW-Toyota sports car heading towards Tokyo debut

Mon, 20 May 2013

Earlier this year, BMW and Toyota confirmed a four-part joint venture mostly focusing on increasing improving vehicle efficiency using fuel cells, lightweight materials and better battery technology. Also tucked into the announcement was a "feasibility study" for a shared platform to underpin a future midsize "sports vehicle."
In terms of the latter, it seems that things have stepped up from the feasibility stage to the conceptual stage, as Motor Trend reports we could see a pair of new sports car concepts debut later this year in at the Tokyo Motor Show. There isn't much information about the new program, but the article suggests the sports cars could be all-wheel drive hybrids, with electric motors powering the front wheels and a gas engine powering the rear wheels. While a partnership between Toyota and BMW might not lend itself to a catchy portmanteau like "Toyobaru," here's hoping it will bear fruit that is as exciting as the ones produced by the Toyota/Subaru tie up.

Toyota to buck engine downsizing trend, may go larger and turbo-free

Mon, 14 Oct 2013

Turbocharging isn't really Toyota's specialty, and the Japanese automaker isn't being shy about acknowledging it. Koei Saga, a senior managing officer in charge of drivetrain research and development, says that eschewing turbos and increasing displacement of engines using the Atkinson cycle can produce better power gains without sacrificing fuel economy, Automotive News reports.
Toyota is investing heavily in larger-displacement Atkinson-cycle engines in addition to turbocharged engines, but Saga doesn't think the automaker will use turbocharging across many product lines. He apparently remains unconvinced that the technology "makes the world better."
In Toyota's eyes then, Atkinson cycle engines do make the world better, and here's how. Their pistons complete four processes - intake, compression, power and exhaust - in one revolution of the crankshaft, and the power stroke is longer than the compression stroke. Traditional Otto cycle engines require two crankshaft revolutions to accomplish those same four operations and have equal-length compression and power strokes. Atkinson cycle engines are more efficient, but less power dense, though increasing displacement can offset that shortfall.
