A Rare Find-1988 Mr2 Supercharged-t-tops-serviced-carfax Certified-no Reserve on 2040-cars
Blue Springs, Missouri, United States
Garage kept and very rare, I have owned this little gem since 1994. It never lets me down, always starts, runs strong, and turns heads. Tasteful modifications: HKS intake & Supercharger pulley. Apex lowering springs (1in lower F & R), Koni adjustable shocks. Newer engine (JDM spec) & transaxle. ClutchMasters lightweight flywheel, SPEC stage 3+ clutch. Bored throttle body, ported stock supercharger intake section & intake elbow spacer. Slightly ported intake manifold to improve #1 cylinder filling. Crower street grind cams. NGK Irridium 1 step colder. I estimate 185BHP. engine runs smoothly at all RPMs. Idles nicely, very, very slight lope. No valve ticking. Surprises most stop light challengers, even some motorcycles. :) But I do not drive it hard very often. I usually gas up with 4 gallons of Premium gas, good for 100-115 miles usually. Brakes are Powerslot rotors with TRD braided lines. Seat leather material recently (3 years ago?) replaced by me, leatherseats.com. Kosei 14in wheels weigh 10.6lbs. I will not ship. I would not hesitate to drive it cross-country today. Many stock pieces included: air filter, suspension springs, crankshaft pulley, spacesaver spare (never used?) & holddown clamp, tool kit in green original pouch, spare tire plastic cover (perfect), screw jack (all not shown in photos), original transaxle (if desired), T-Top covers, and sunshades in great condition. "Big Green Book" official Toyota Service Manual with supplemental Electrical Schematics Manual, glove box sized Owners Manual. Car sold as-is. $500 non-refundable deposit required within 48hrs of auction end. Recent/Current Missouri State Inspection=passed (I had to replace a stop lamp bulb).

Toyota produces millionth truck in Texas
Thu, 19 Sep 2013After going online in 2006, Toyota's San Antonio, Texas truck plant has just built its one-millionth vehicle, the 2014 Tundra 1794 Edition you see above. The plant originally focused on just the Tundra pickup, but the smaller Tacoma started rolling off the line there in 2010, as well.
Fittingly, the 1794 Edition (a new premium trim level for 2014) pays homage to the property on which the Toyota plant now resides - a ranch that was founded in 1794. Scroll down for the official press release for the plant's milestone, and be sure to check out the full gallery of Tundra 1794 Edition images as well.
Toyota finds 10% MPG improvement in hybrid PCU
Wed, May 21 2014Keeping up its from-all-angles approach to efficiency, Toyota has found yet another way to eke out up to ten percent more precious MPGs in its hybrid vehicles, this time electronically. The automaker has announced the development of new silicon carbide (SiC) power semiconductors for use in power control units, which it will begin testing on Japanese roads within the next year. The PCU using the silicon carbide compound offers less electrical resistance, which improves efficiency when passing current between the battery and electric motor. It also loses less power after shutting off, and can operate at a higher frequency. The net power loss of the new PCU is just one-tenth of the current silicone-only version (the latter accounting for 20 percent of total electrical power loss in today's hybrids). The result, so far, is a claimed five-percent improvement in fuel economy in test vehicles, with the potential of ten percent by the time the new SiC power semiconductor comes to market. Additionally, the carbide wafers allow for smaller a power module, coil and capacitor, thus allowing the entire PCU to be 80 percent smaller (see the side-by-side comparison in the accompanying photo, which you can click to enlarge). We've got a while to wait before we start to see the carbide technology to start making a real-world impact. Toyota aims to begin using the SiC units in 2020. By then, with improvements in the company's other key efficiency factors - engine technology and aerodynamics - cars like the Prius will likely see significant gains in fuel economy. Read more in the press release below. Toyota Develops 'Diamond-like' Computer Chips to Boost Hybrid Mileage May 20, 2014 Toyota City, Japan – Toyota is using one of the hardest materials in nature after diamonds to develop a semiconductor chip it hopes will improve the fuel efficiency of its hybrids, such as the Prius, by as much at 10 percent. The company and its partners announced today that they have developed a silicon carbide (SiC) power semiconductor for use in automotive power control units. Toyota plans to begin test-driving vehicles with the technology on public roads in Japan within a year. The chips, made from carbide - one of the hardest materials in nature, theoretically have superior characteristics such as one-tenth the electrical power loss and 10 times the drive frequency. Toyota said the chips would also allow it to reduce the size of current automotive power control units by 80 percent.
Toyota begins shipping Le Yaris to America
Fri, 17 May 2013Our tiniest Toyota (Scion iQ notwithstanding) is about to get a little French flair. The Japanese automaker announced Thursday that its Toyota Motor Manufacturing France facility would begin building Yaris models destined for North America - specifically, the United States, Puerto Rico and Canada. This will mark the first time in history that Toyota has exported vehicles to North America from Europe.
Initially, Toyota will export roughly 25,000 Yaris models to North American markets from France each year. In order to handle this additional production, Toyota Motor Manufacturing France has invested 10 million euro into its French facility.
Despite being somewhat of a snooze-fest (it's a car!), the Yaris carries on in North America with a 106-horsepower 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine, with prices starting at $14,370 for the three-door and $15,395 for the five-door, not including $795 for destination.
