1993 Toyota Mr2 Supercharged V6 Swap on 2040-cars
Estes Park, Colorado, United States
I have up for Auction a very well built swapped 93' Toyota Mr2.. The car started life as a factory 93' Turbo with 5-speed, LSD, AC, Power windows, locks, cruise, etc. all still in great working condition. The car has 123k original miles on the chassis and roughly 80k on the drivetrain..
The car has been swapped with a toyota camry 1MZ-FE V6 and a TRD Supercharger running 6lbs. of Boost, Cold air intake with K&N filter, stainless steel headers, and a custom catted duel 2.5" magnaflow exhaust system. It really sounds incredible.. AEM Engine management with both E85 and 91-93 octane tunes.. The car made 273 rwhp on the E85 tune, 440cc fuel injectors, Walbro fuel pump.. Stock 5-speed transmission shifts great, newer clutch with lightweight flywheel. Suspension is TRD lowering springs, Bilstein sports, TRD swaybars, urethane bushings.. Handles very nice.. Wheels and tires are Bronze MB weapon 17x8 front 18x9 rear with 235/40/17 and 265/35/18 Stock turbo brakes, front and rear discs with StopTech brake pads and stainless lines.. JDM items- taillights, rear wing, steering wheel, front lip spoiler, body colored side moldings, front side marker delete.. Interior- This is a factory T-top car, excellent glass, covers are in perfect shape, recovered front seats with heated drivers seat, TRD shift knob, digital boost guage in dash as well as innovate wideband, and boost control.. Cold A/C, everything works. Body / Paint- The body and paint are in great shape, very straight body with no door dings, a few very light stone chips in the front, some swirl marks in the paint, and a few very light scratches.. Overall not quite show quality but very presentable.. The car has been super reliable and i have enjoyed driving it daily without issue.. It is very tight with no rattles, weird noises etc. It handles like a big go cart, has tons of power, sounds fantastic, stops on a dime, and gets looks all the time. Sad to see it go but other priorities forces sale.. Thanks for looking and please contact me for additional info.. Thanks.. Also this car was featured in the February 2013 issue of Grassroots motorsports magazine.. |

Which sinister Scion FR-S would you buy?
Tue, May 17 2016Look beyond the utility. Look beyond the amenities, the infotainment, the hidden storage cubbies, and the 72-way adjustable seats. Yes, even the seats. Outside all the fluff of today's cars, there's a blank canvas waiting for an artist; cars can really come alive with a few tastefully placed modifications. These two Scion FR-S sports cars surely fall into that category, and when they both turned up on eBay, we figured we'd ask the question — which would you rather buy? The track-centric red car or the brutally simple black car ? Internet, you be the judge. The "widebody" look — with its outrageous fender flares and visible rivets—isn't for everyone, but this 2013 Scion FR-S happens to pull it off quite well. According to the listing, the pumped-up fenders, splitter, and additional aero bits are courtesy of legendary widebody purveyor Rocket Bunny. Overall, the racy body mods add a significant twinge of aggression to the once docile FR-S... a notion that's echoed underneath the hood. The heady Scion FR-S leverages an HKS supercharger system and exhaust, paired with a set of Buddy Club racing coilover shocks, Bee-R wheels wrapped in Yokohama ADVAN rubber, and a new engine management system. All in all, this looks to be one fierce track and street monster. RELATED: Check Out This Wild Toyota GT86 Wagon Concept But whereas the red car is a shout, the black car is a growl. Confident, powerful, yet restrained. The black 2013 Scion FR-S sports a sultry Varis Arising 2 body kit with carbon fiber accents lining its front lip and boot lid, as well as a brilliant set of projector headlights and Tom's taillights. The icing on the cake is the set of Work M1R gunmetal grey wheels, which come fitted with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. There's no supercharger in play here, but the Scion's 2.0-liter boxer engine does breathe a bit easer thanks new ceramic coated exhaust headers and a high-flow catalytic converter. It can also handle a bit better too, courtesy of sporty Cusco Street Zero 3 coilover shocks. If we're honest, both are quite jaw-dropping in their own unique styles. But which do you prefer? Toyota Camry Dragster takes the phrase 'sleeper' to its logical extreme [w/video]
Wed, 05 Nov 2014Sometimes, looks can be deceiving. This is certainly one of those times, as Toyota successfully trolled the entirety of the media corps at the 2014 SEMA Show by rolling an innocent-looking Camry onto the floor... only to lift literally the entirety of its body to reveal an 850-horsepower, tube-framed dragster. Well, we have been asking for a more driver-oriented Toyota.
While it's designed to go fast in a straight line, the origin of the Camry Dragster's parts might be surprising. The 5.7-liter V8 engine, transmission, rear axle and electronics were plucked from the Toyota Tundra pickup. Toyota Racing Development donated a supercharger, while a wet-nitrous-injection system was also tacked on for that little extra something. Those goodies will help propel this anonymous looking monster through the quarter mile in just 9.8 seconds.
"This is the most extreme build we've ever unveiled at SEMA," said Toyota's motorsports chief Steve Appelbaum said in a statement. "The transformation from seemingly stock Camry to full-blown racecar just shocks the senses. Chuck Wade and the team at Motorsports Technical Center did a truly spectacular job executing the vision of this project."
Toyota nudges US sales projections up to 2.25M
Tue, 20 Aug 2013Toyota has raised its expectations for 2013's US sales for the third time since the end of 2012. The new target rests at 2.25 million units, when sales of Toyota, Lexus and Scion are taken as one. Subtracting Lexus, Toyota is still expecting to move over two million vehicles in the US by the end of 2013.
According to a report from Automotive News, the sales expectations came from Bob Carter, senior VP of automotive operations for Toyota USA, during a dealers during a meeting in Atlanta. The heightened expectations go along with Toyota's predictions for the US market as a whole, which it expects to grow to 15.5 million units by the end of 2013.
Besides an overall, national uptick in new vehicle sales, Toyota is also expecting a big push as it puts the next-generation Corolla to market during the second half of this year, along with the Tundra pickup truck. Meanwhile, dealers were shown images of a refreshed Camry, set to arrive in 2015, and reported that it's "more than a nip and a tuck," according to the AN report.
