1989 Toyota FJ62 Land Cruiser in excellent condition both mechanically and cosmetically. All original RUST FREE Texas truck. Currently located in the suburbs of Washington DC. Ready to hop in and drive anywhere. Recent Virginia state inspection good until March 2015. The truck can be, and is daily driven. ALL gauges, lights, power windows etc work- notable exceptions being 4x4-high needs to be manually engaged (but works well), and the A/C works but is old R12 refrigerant.

Yes, it has 254,000 miles. However, a rebuilt transmission was installed at 200,000 miles and operates flawlessly. The engine runs beautifully and smoothly, strong (fuel injected), and has no blow by or smoke. Engine/exhaust sound great with no exhaust leak and the faintest lifter tick. Great compression across all cylinders.Accident free. All original body panels with no body work, patching, or bondo. Four wheel drive works well, Relatively new Mud terrain tires with 75%+ tread left, new front brake pads and calipers, new shocks, new valve cover gasket

There is some general wear and tear as EVERYTHING is original Even the pinstriping. a few small dents and dings that do not show up in photographs- but again No rust. All original body panels, glass, interior, motor, bumpers, etc. Interior is in great shape with no sag in the headliner- a couple small cracks in the dash and a rip along the edge of the drivers seat.

Original vin number etched in glass. All original paint (clearcoat still shines). Tires  have approx. 10,000 miles on them. Diff fluid replaces 3 years ago, Coolant flushed last year, KNN air filter installed beginning of this year. Fuel filter replaced several weeks ago.

Front Aux driving lights, Rear aux/back up lights

Aftermarket CD player and head unit sounds great with aftermarket 6.5in front speakers

The Toyota GT86 Shooting Brake Concept is real

Fri, May 6 2016

As a two-door wagon the shooting brake exists at the unusual but captivating intersection between practicality and sportiness. This Toyota GT86 Shooting Brake Concept is no different – it's a standard GT86, with no mechanical alterations save the grafted-on wagonette roof and hatch. It's fully functional, too, having turned some laps on Toyota's test tracks. It even has the blessing of Tetsuya Tada, the father of the Toyota 86 and its Subaru BRZ and (now rebadged) Scion FR-S, who's been protective of the original GT86 concept to the point of strenuously resisting any serious power upgrades. This isn't the first shooting brake concept we've seen from the Toyobaru twins, but it's the first Toyota-badged one. Subaru brought the Cross Sport Design Concept to the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show. So how did the GT86 Shooting Brake Concept happen? The story, as Toyota tells it, involves the company's Australian design team. They created a 1/4-scale clay model of the shooting brake, and showed it to Tada when he visited in late 2014. He was so impressed, Toyota says, that he had his hand-picked craftsman in Japan bring the idea to full-scale fruition. The Australian design team, in the outdoor-loving spirit of their country, immediately thought that the longer roof would be perfect for carrying surfboards and other unwieldy sports equipment. And it would be. Meanwhile, Tada and the rest of the Toyota corporation want to tamp down expectations. It's a design study, the company says, and it's just "testing the waters." Toyota won't rule anything out, and Mazda recently surprised everyone with the MX-5 RF's unusual and attractive targa model. Maybe in a world where Mazda felt confident enough to introduce the RF, Toyota can be daring enough to bring a sporty wagon to the masses. We can hope, and maybe if we all make enough noise together Toyota will make it a reality. Supra successor may be all-electric sourced from Tesla; MR2 returning too?

Wed, 14 Nov 2012

Rumors of a revival of the Toyota Supra and MR2 have been swirling for years right up until just this week when high-level Toyota employees all but confirmed their return.
But now The Detroit Bureau has put together news from different sources suggesting that the next Supra might be all electric. The report cites recent comments from Toyota senior executives hinting at plans to work with Tesla on a new joint project. The FT-HS Concept (shown above) seems a logical inspiration for a new Supra.
And on the other side of the equation is Tesla's design chief Franz von Holzhausen who was quoted last year saying his company was looking at its next project, probably a sports car, that would follow next year's intro of the Model X. He went on to suggest the car would compete directly with BMW's 3 Series, which, in coupe form, could be a worthy competitor to a Supra as well.

Scion FR-S Convertible (in Toyota GT86 form) spied in South Africa

Fri, 15 Feb 2013

Though the eventual existence of a convertible version of the Toyota GT86 (and its Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ versions for America) is a no-brainer, we've yet to get a glimpse of the real-deal car until now.
Spotted in Cape Town, South Africa, of all places, this completely undisguised GT86 convertible seems to be in a remarkably advanced state of development. The image seen here was obviously sniped from quite a distance and without the aid of a powerful lens, but we can still make out a production-ready looking piece of rear bodywork for the convertible top to hide away in, as well as a functioning trunk lid. It's hard to make out with any certainty, based on this evidence, but there does seem to be space retained behind the front seats for two, small rear chairs.
With the first car spotted, we'd expect to seem some more and better images of it flow through in the near future, and if not, Toyota has already confirmed a concept version for next month's Geneva Motor Show, dubbed FT-86 Open, so stay tuned. For now, click through to the FT86Club.com forum to have a slightly closer look at the images.
