Rare Left Hand Drive 1984 FJ45 Troop Carrier

Please note that the VIN # in the description above is not for this car. EBAY's system was not recognizing the actual VIN. See picture of the vehicle's title with VIN #.

This Left Hand Drive Troopy is registered in Virginia. I bought the truck almost ten years ago and have been working on it off and on since. The tub has had all bad metal cut out and replaced. The wheel wells, in order to make more space in the back for forward seating, were shortened on the inside of the vehicle and original Toyota wheel well panels were put back in. The inside of the tub is fully line-xed as well as the underside and firewall.

It is painted in an original Toyota color from the 1960s called Horizon Blue. The color code is T808. Of course, the new owner can change the color. Due to being in storage over the last year, the paint has several scratches. I have some of the paint left, but it can be ordered at any auto paint supply store.

I have gathered extensive parts for the rebuild of this vehicle. I have all window seals, all glass, and window hardware. The front and back doors have all new mechanicals and regulators. I have a 1984 Head Rest Roll bar.

Also, the vehicle has installed a brand new, never used, Toyota OEM speedometer and an original never used 1984 FJ40 Steering Wheel. Both items were secured in the Middle East from a dealership that was selling off its old Toyota parts. I also have a rare front 2/3 OEM Split Bench which will need to be upholstered.

New Fenders as well. The Fiberglass Top is in good shape, but it not perfect. New owner may want to replace outside metal ring if you want perfect, but otherwise it is usable right away.

Frame has been worked on and gusset and a couple of mounts replaced. It is in great shape.

Please note, I have no mechanicals, that part you will have to source yourself.

The vehicle is not perfect, and I would not say it is “showroom.” But it is solid and is ready for someone else to take over, I have too may other projects and not enough time to finish this out.

There are other parts as well, and please call if you have any questions. 757-375-5890. Thanks.

Why 2015 is going to be a huge year for trucks

Thu, Jan 22 2015

Nissan chief executive Carlos Ghosn took center stage to introduce the 2016 Titan last week at the Detroit Auto Show. He spoke of the truck's new features, impressive Cummins V8 diesel engine and the extensive amount of time and money required to build a modern, competitive pickup truck. "We have done all of this because we see opportunity – an opportunity in the unmet needs of today's American truck customers," Ghosn said. He was speaking about the Titan, but his thoughts echo the industry's mindset: When it comes to trucks, find an opportunity and attack. Even with CAFE regulations looming and fickle consumer preferences, investing in trucks is a no-brainer for automakers. Some consumers will always need a truck for their job or lifestyle. And some people will always want one, whether they need it or not. With that in mind, here are four reasons why the pickup-truck sector is more important than ever and poised for growth in 2015. View 24 Photos The Nissan Titan Is Back Okay, it never left, but the Titan hadn't been redesigned since its launch in 2003, and Nissan sold more NV200s than Titans in 2014. It's an understatement to say the truck was languishing. That all changes with the 2016 model. The Titan will come in two variants, a traditional fullsize competitor and the Titan XD. The XD will lead the market launch, and it arrives late this year. It's pitched as a "whitespace" offering, Nissan sales and marketing vice president Fred Diaz said. The idea is to offer something in the general size and price range of a fullsize truck, but also have some of the capability of a heavy-duty truck. The XD uses a fully boxed ladder frame, the chassis design from Nissan's commercial division, and the wheelbase is about 20 inches longer than other Titan models. The XD, which Nissan is calling the flagship of the line, will be the only model with the 5.0-liter Cummins turbodiesel V8. It produces 310 horsepower and 555 pound-feet of torque, while being able to tow 12,000 pounds. V6 and V8 gasoline models will also be offered on the Titan XD and the standard, non-XD model. When production ramps up, the Titan will be sold with several cabs, beds and trims. New features include trailer sway control, an integrated trailer brake controller, more storage options in the cabin and even laminated front and rear side glass to reduce outside noise. All of this has given Nissan fresh confidence in an area where it admittedly has been lacking. "We can compete," Diaz told Autoblog.

2015 Toyota Yaris

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

Advertising firms have done an admirable job convincing consumers that the easiest way to find a best-in-segment car or truck is by looking at a few key metrics. In the most elementary terms, the vehicle with the highest horsepower, most gears in its transmission housing, lowest acceleration times and best fuel economy most certainly must be the class benchmark.
Yet as the commercials and billboards continue to drive that deceitful message, Toyota is betting shoppers in the subcompact segment are a bit more discerning. The Japanese automaker has just launched its updated 2015 Yaris, a three- and five-door offering that bucks the innovation and performance trends by offering what Toyota feels that entry-level buyers actually desire - reliability, practicality and a low sticker price.
It's sweltering in the tropical Hawaiian sun as I check out the deeply refreshed 2015 Yaris SE. This five-door hatchback, a range-topping version of the company's subcompact "sporty hatch" (Toyota's words, not mine), builds on the new-in-2012 generation by wearing new front and rear fascias, redesigned headlights and some attractive new wheels for the upcoming model year.

Nissan, Toyota offering payment deferments to people affected by government shutdown

Tue, 15 Oct 2013

Two weeks into the budget-related government shutdown and it sounds like some progress is finally being made, but that doesn't really help furloughed government employees pay their bills. To help out a little, Nissan and Toyota are joining Hyundai with offering payment deferments to current owners and lessees.
In a release, a Nissan spokesperson said the company is "sympathetic to any of our customers who find themselves in difficult financial circumstances - many times outside of their control."
Both Japanese automakers are allowing payment extensions of up to 90 days without penalties or fees. Unlike the Hyundai Assurance Plan, though, it doesn't seem like the Nissan or Toyota assistance will be extended to those who are still in the buying process. Scroll down for press releases from both companies about their respective payment deferment programs.
