Dealer serviced up until last year or so. Mechanical and electrical in working order,
a couple of minor issues that need addressing (Driver mirror, rear window washer, front windshield)

Great shape for it's age, well maintained.

Interior great, no rips or tears, carpet good, brand new set of collector's carpet, winter rubber mats
Includes a brand new portable CB that I never used, wheeling stuff (ropes, hooks etc), the factory front and rear lights, and the running boards, shocks and springs.

It's a nice, good looking mix of daily driver and capable off-roader.

There are some surface rust spots on the bottom of the rear window caused by a leaking rear window sprayer.  It is one of the items that needs addressing.  It needs a new one attached, pump motor and spray still work.

The driver mirror had the common shaking problem then the back piece of plastic snapped.  I have a small piece of foam holding it place.  All electrical adjustment still works.  I have a brand new replacement mirror that is black but does not fold in.

The front window should be replaced.  It has a couple rock chips and one crack running almost the full length at the bottom.

Those are the only issues with this truck.  All mechanical and electrical issues and maintenance have been serviced by Toyota immediately. gauges, lights, windows, seats, air, heat, remote locks/alarm, wipers etc all operate as should.

I have kept all the maintenance records since I purchased it. The head gasket has not been replaced, and I have never had a check engine light. I recently (Feb) had the rear brakes done, and the transfer case and differential fluids done, also a new locker switch as the old one was not properly attached.  I 'exercised' the lockers monthly since purchasing the vehicle in 2006 from the second owner (66,00miles).  I carefully wheeled the vehicle 5 or 6 times per year with various land cruiser groups.  I have not been off road in over a year.

I have always the service performed according to the service manual.  I have put in a new starter, new batteries, repacked bearings, fluids, bushings, fluid flushes for the power steering, differentials, transfer cases, propeller shaft joints, etc all as required, through Toyota dealers. My bills (other than oil changes) range from $400 to $1400 or more, I handled what needed to be handled at the time it needed to happen. This vehicle has been sitting and there are no leaks underneath.

Like most people with these trucks, I never intended to sell this vehicle, and I will be sad to see it go.  It has been my daily driver and my escape for many years.  I truly pampered it, while using it for what it was built for...safe, slow, and challenging wheeling.  Life changes and I have to move on.

NO guarantees/warranties expressed or implied

***Note***I have  a clean, clear title for this vehicle.  I imported it to Canada for several years, then back into the US where I currently live and work.

Toyota releases its Le Mans recap, 'The Ultimate Endurance Race'

Wed, 28 Aug 2013

Two weeks ago, Audi released its short video about this years 24 Hours of Le Mans, and now Toyota has put the experience into its own words and pictures. Called The Ultimate Endurance Race, the clip and accompanying press release focus on how hybrid power helped Toyota claim second and fourth places with the TS030 Hybrid in just its second year competing at Le Mans.
There are some brief scenes of the battles had this year, like when Lucas di Grassi in the Toyota almost kissed Allan McNish in the Audi above, but the best part might be when Toyota promises it will be back. Next year, it's gonna be good. You'll find the relevant words and the images just below.

Weekly Recap: Ferrari, Ford and Porsche power up for Geneva

Sat, Feb 7 2015

Monday was Groundhog Day. Tuesday, apparently, was Sports Car Day. The Ferrari 488 GTB, the Ford Focus RS and the Porsche Cayman GT4 all debuted within hours of each other ahead of their rollouts at the Geneva Motor Show. Three sporty machines, three vastly different approaches – and a lot of implications for enthusiasts. That's a day worth repeating. It also illustrates the opportunities automakers see in the performance market, which is expected to grow in the coming years. Ford estimates the segment has expanded 14 percent in Europe and surged 70 percent in North America since 2009. The Detroit Auto Show was evidence of this, and performance cars of every stripe debuted, including the Acura NSX, Ford GT, Alfa Romeo 4C Spider and several others. This isn't a fad. Performance cars aren't going away. The question is why? Stricter CAFE standards are looming in the United States, as are tighter emissions regulations in Europe. And no one expects gas prices to remain low in America. None of this matters for sports cars, and automakers are increasingly using them to elevate their images. That's why Dodge rolled out two 707-horsepower Hellcats last year. It's why Ford has decided to resurrect the GT for road and track. It's why in the depths of bankruptcy, General Motors continued work on the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, not to mention the Z06. "Great brands are made one car at a time," Ford of Europe president Jim Farley said at the reveal of the Focus RS. Still, companies make those cars for different reasons. View 5 Photos Mainstream brands like Ford and Dodge want to build cars that get people talking, excite their bases and drive more potential customers into the showroom. They probably don't buy a Focus RS or a Hellcat, but suddenly the regular Focus hatch looks a bit hotter, and that V6 Charger seems to be just a touch more muscular. The halo of performance is alive and well in the eyes of automakers and their customers. "It's one of the most effective catalysts for ingenuity and innovation," said Joe Bakaj, vice president of product development for Ford of Europe. That also leads to a trickle-down effect. Some of the technologies inevitably make their way to other products. It's hard to think the new all-wheel-drive system in the Focus RS that distributes torque front to rear and side to side won't be used in other vehicles. It's different for Ferrari and Porsche.

Toyota reveals new TS040 Hybrid LMP1 [w/videos, poll]

Thu, 27 Mar 2014

There's a new season of motor racing upon us, and while that doesn't always mean a new crop of cars in every series, in the case of the 2014 FIA World Endurance Championship, that's exactly what it means. Porsche recently revealed its new 919 Hybrid and Audi its revised R18 E-Tron Quattro. Now it's Toyota's turn.
Revealed today at the Paul Ricard test track in the South of France, the new TS040 Hybrid is based on the TS030 Hybrid it replaces, redesigned to meet the latest regulations established by the FIA and ACO for the World Endurance Championship and its flagship race, the 24 Hours of Le Mans. In accordance with said regulations, the TS040 is two inches narrower than the TS030 and also incorporates a new hybrid powertrain.
The previous 3.4-liter V8 has been replaced by a 3.7-liter V8 developing 513 horsepower, and the new engine is coupled to an Aisin AW electric motor at the front, a Denso electric motor at the rear and a Nisshinbo super-capacitor that combine to kick out an extra 473 hp, giving the system a combined output of nearly 1,000 horsepower while consuming 25 percent less fuel than last year's car. It also gives the TS040 all-wheel drive to help channel all that power to the road.
