Hi, It's hard to believe but I am selling my 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser 40th Anniversary Edition #4726. Hard to believe because I was on the hunt for this vehicle for a very long time. I am a big fan Toyota's and specifically the Land Cruiser. I've had a few good ones over the years and have sold some very nice cruiser's here on eBay to extremely satisfied buyers. Also just sold a very nice original 87 4Runner. Please check my feedback and be confident in the description of this cruiser.
I am the 4th owner, all ownership has been in California so it's rust free. I was looking for a well cared for 40th and found this one mildly built. I bought it last year and have made it even better. Really was planning on keeping for a long time but things change so it's being offered with a buy it now price and I'll consider offers.
Original paint in quite good condition for the age of the cruiser with no clear coat fade. Minor scratches and a few dents from general use here and there but in much better shape than average. Original interior in incredible condition. Minor wear on the drivers seat, the rest of the seats are quite exceptional. I removed the wood dash kit and there are a few nicks in the plastic you can see in the photos. It's got an OME 2.5" lift which I believe are heavies front and rear. TJM front bumper with a Superwinch winch that functions perfectly with accessory bag included. Outback Products power coated aluminum full length safari roof rack. OEM roof rack side rails removed (marine grade screws, stainless steel finish washers with soft plastic washers in place of the holes, never leaks and look nice). Thule wind faring to keep noise to a minimum. KC lights on TJM bumper (not hooked up). OEM wheels professionally painted to match the body side moldings with Goodyear Duratrac's 285/75/16 with less than 2000 miles. Spare BFG All-Terrain 285/75/16 (new) on original 40th wheel. Tow package with 4 way flat and 7 pin round wiring with a trailer brake controller (I installed to pull my Starcraft RT pop up trailer). Otherwise pretty much stock with factory stereo, new factory floor mats (front, second and cargo area).
Everything works including the power antenna, electric seats function perfectly, PWR and 2ND gear start buttons, power mirrors, power windows etc. No issues with this cruiser. Any issues have been addressed, just drive and enjoy. It runs, drives, shifts, brakes, steers, rides great again with no issues. Shifts into 4 low very smoothly and center diff lock engages (sorry it does not have front and rear lockers).
As I stated I planned to keep for a long time and did a ton preventative maintenance at a large cost! Including but not limited to: valve cover gasket, spark plug tube seals, spark plugs, ignition wires, distributor cap, starter, thermostat, throttle body gasket, all drive belts, new copper core radiator, PCV hose, EGR vacuum switch and more. No thrown codes or check engine lights. Passes California smog with ease. Recent brakes and full vehicle service. 2 keys and one OEM keyless entry fob for Toyota security system. Clean CarFax and original window sticker (photos below). Current Cali tags that expire in May.
Overall a very nice 40th Edition Land Cruiser FZJ80. Needs nothing. I really can't think of issues to disclose as I've addressed them all. But keep in mind it is a 17 year old vehicle and it's not new but almost as good as it gets.
It's located in Santa Barbara, CA with a clear title in my name. If you click buy it now or submit an offer and I accept, please be prepared to make a deposit via PayPal immediately. The balance must be paid within 5 days via cash, bank transfer or wire transfer. I can pick you up at the Santa Barbara Airport or I'll assist with your transporter.
If you have any questions you can message me through eBay or contact me on my mobile at 805-4one5-2848. Happy to help if you arrange a pre-buy inspections BEFORE you buy it now or make an offer. As is, where is. No warranties express, written or implied.
Thanks! Patrick

Though the eventual existence of a convertible version of the Toyota GT86 (and its Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ versions for America) is a no-brainer, we've yet to get a glimpse of the real-deal car until now.
Spotted in Cape Town, South Africa, of all places, this completely undisguised GT86 convertible seems to be in a remarkably advanced state of development. The image seen here was obviously sniped from quite a distance and without the aid of a powerful lens, but we can still make out a production-ready looking piece of rear bodywork for the convertible top to hide away in, as well as a functioning trunk lid. It's hard to make out with any certainty, based on this evidence, but there does seem to be space retained behind the front seats for two, small rear chairs.
With the first car spotted, we'd expect to seem some more and better images of it flow through in the near future, and if not, Toyota has already confirmed a concept version for next month's Geneva Motor Show, dubbed FT-86 Open, so stay tuned. For now, click through to the FT86Club.com forum to have a slightly closer look at the images.

Many Toyota vehicles haven't been performing well in the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's (IIHS) small overlap frontal crash test, and the Camry is one of them. The 2012 and 2013 Camry both received "Poor" ratings, IIHS' lowest rating, in the test, which spurred Consumer Reports to take the car off its "Recommended" list. In response to the low ratings in the small overlap frontal test, and in a bid to maintain its best-seller status, Toyota will make changes to the Camry to improve its IIHS safety rating and to enhance its design, The Detroit News reports.
The Camry performed well in the moderate overlap frontal, side, roof strength and head restraints and seats crash tests, receiving "Good" ratings, IIHS' highest rating, in all four tests. That was enough for IIHS to award it a Top Safety Pick rating, just not TSP+.
Bill Fay, head of Toyota's US division, reportedly says, "It's still a five-star car. It still does very well in all the IIHS tests. It did not in [the small overlap frontal crash test], and we're busy making the necessary adjustments so that we can address that."

We have entered a drifting arms race. Last year, BMW smashed the Guinness World Record for the longest drift by hanging the tail out for 51.3 miles around a wet skid pad in an M5 at the BMW Performance Driving School in South Carolina. That beat the previous milestone of nearly seven miles. Now, Bimmer's record is up in smoke as well and is in the possession of a Toyota.
German driver Harald Müller pummeled the old record to drift for 89.55 miles around a 0.15-mile (235.5-meter) course in Samsun, Turkey, in a Toyota GT86 (or Scion FR-S as it's known in the US). According to the Guinness World Records website, it took him 612 laps and 2 hours, 25 minutes and 18 seconds to manage the achievement. Sit back to watch a few minutes of the German's two and a half hours behind the wheel with the tail out.
