1997 Toyota Landcruser. 40th Anniversary Edition. I am the original owner. My kids all grew up in this car. My son drove it for 3 years when I purchased a new Landcruiser in 2009. We are a Landcruiser family. This car has 250,000 original miles. I have recently done the following: New Michelin LTX tires all the way around, new brakes, oil change, new front shocks, new motor mounts ( all 3 ), new windshield, new front leather, new paint (see details on Facebook...Bufffalo Body Works), Powder coated brush guard, new floor mats included. Dash is perfect. No cracks. The vehicle runs perfect. Does 90mph on the highway smooth and steady. Tight turning radius. Perfectly balanced. Does not eat tires or brakes. We get 45K out of the Michelin LTX every time. Alignment is perfect. A/C is original and blows ice cold. Has auto setting which is very nice. This car is all original. I have never replaced the alternator, a/c compressor, or water pump. I have replaced the radiator about 3 years ago. Belts are good. Quiet.  Uses about a quart of oil every 1000 miles. Power everything. Seats are in fully back position. Front/back seat motors are fried but recline/upright motors work normally. Lumbar support works normally. 3rd row seating included and fold up perfectly. All leather. No tears. Purchased as wood trim delete, which is nicer than ugly fake wood ( in my opinion) Rear heater works fine. Sunroof is electric and works well. Front window motors work but are sluggish and will eventually need to be replaced. 3rd row windows are sliders, which I think is very cool. Sound system is excellent. I installed an amplified subwoofer which is nice but can be easily removed. Otherwise, the stereo is stock and better than most cars. Full rich sound. CD player works perfectly. All books and keys included. I have photos from 1997 and 1998 when I first bought the Landcruiser in Gainesville, Florida from Gatorland Toyota. I am reluctant to sell it, but I have too many cars and this is a good one for anybody who knows the heritage and reliability of these vehicles. They are truly amazing considering how over engineered they are and how little they use tires or brakes. The transmission is all original. Never replaced or fixed. Shifts perfectly. Overdrive button perfect for downshifting coming off the highway. Too numerous qualities to go on about. This car is a part of my family and every bit as reliable. Asking $14,900. Call me with questions. 407-443-0333. Dr. K.

Ram takes out frustrations on Camry

Fri, May 29 2015

No, not a Ram pickup truck. This is an actual ram, as in a male sheep, headbutting the hell out of a Toyota Camry that made the unfortunate decision to interrupt its battle with a rival member of the flock. Now, before you say, "How dare that Camry harm that cuddly sheep," we'd like to point out just how viciously the two males were fighting before the Toyota butted in. And after smashing the driver's side front fascia, the ram goes right back to attempting to beat down its opponent. All things considered then, we'd call this Ram: 1, Camry: 0.

Toyota Aygo stars in 'invisible driver' prank

Sat, 14 Jun 2014

We love a good automotive-themed prank. Rémi Gaillard remains a favorite, although maybe we should take a closer look at MagicOfRahat, another online prankster. Rahat, who has developed a bit of a reputation for blending in with car seats, giving the impression that there's no one behind the wheel, has taken his talents to Europe, in a new video for Toyota.
Dressed to look like the seat of the new Toyota Aygo, Rahat goes about town freaking out tollbooth operators, valets, fast food servers and even receiving a bit of unwanted attention from the police. The result is, as is usually the case with this prank, pretty darn amusing. We were kind of hoping he'd pop up and give his victims a fright, as he did in his Halloween video, but alas, that wasn't to be.
Take a look below for the full video.

Post-earthquake, Toyota prepares to reopen some plants in Japan

Wed, Apr 20 2016

Toyota will restart vehicle production at most of its closed factories in Japan next week, but the factories that build the Mirai and many Lexus models will remain closed through at least April 28 and possibly longer. The earthquakes around the city of Kumamoto on the island of Kyushu forced the automaker to stop most of its assembly throughout the country due to a lack of parts supply. Toyota will reopen the plants in phases from April 25 to 28. However, the Motomachi factory with its LFA works, which makes the Mirai, and the Miyata factory will remain closed. These sites also build the Lexus NX, RX, ES, GS, and CT, according to Toyota. The automaker didn't say when production would begin again or how this would affect vehicle supply. "In the update, we received this morning from TMC, they said that at this stage it is too soon to tell what the impact on production will be, so we can't say yet whether there might be vehicle shortages in the US," spokesperson Aaron Fowles told Autoblog. While the quakes were focused on Kyushu, they damaged Aisin Seiki factories, which supplied parts to Toyota plants across the country. The automaker worked with its partner to import the necessary components from China and Mexico, and Aisin started moving molds from the damaged plants to operational ones in Japan, which gets production under way sooner. Automotive News Europe estimates the week of lost production cuts total assembly by 90,000 vehicles. It could cost Toyota the equivalent of $458.2 million to $641.5 million. The company could make up some of the losses through overtime. Toyota says these plans are subject to change because on ongoing tremors in the region, which could cause more damage. Reuters reported there was a magnitude 5.5 aftershock in the Kumamoto area on April 19. So far, the quakes have killed at least 47 people and around 100,000 people have moved to evacuation centers. Toyota to Restart Production on Vehicle Assembly Lines in Japan from April 25 Apr. 20, 2016 Toyota City, Japan, April 20, 2016-Between April 25 and 28, Toyota will restart production on most of its vehicle assembly lines in Japan. On April 17, Toyota announced that, due to parts shortages resulting from the severe earthquakes that struck Japan's island of Kyushu last week, production would be suspended on almost all of its vehicle assembly lines in stages between April 18 and 23.
