Super nice, well maintained and conditioned 1997 Toyota Landcruiser up for sale. These Land Cruisers are very popular and extremely reliable.  Meticulous care has been taken of the vehicle and it has many upgraded interior/exterior features (see below). This Land Cruiser has ~150337 miles, which is very reasonable mileage for this vintage, with most of the miles on the car are highway miles.

Interior Condition- As you can judge for yourself from the pictures, the interior is clean and looks great!  The leather was completely recovered ~10 months ago and replaced all the wood grain trim and new floor mats at the time as well.  It has never been smoked-inand smells extremely clean. The vehicle is equipped with a 7 pin braking system for towing purposes.  The power locks, windows, seats and roof all work.  Includes 3rd row seating as well.

Exterior Condition- The white paint is in very good condition, no rust with only a few rock chips on the tire flares, right side door and front bumper, as expected for a 1997 vehicle.  There are no indications of any accident or flood history of any kind.

Engine and Drive train- The engine compartment clean, and free of any leaks. The engine and transmission perform very strong as they should with no strange noises or vibrations.  All maintenance has been conducted very regularly at a Toyota Landcruiser specialist in Texas and Atlanta.

Tires- The tires are a matched set of very nice sport tires that have ~75% tread life left. The tires have alloy rims and have recently been rotated, balanced.

Overall this Landcruiser is in way better condition than one would expect for its vintage and mileage.  Only reason I’m selling is due to a switch to a hybrid vehicle and I do not need the additional SUV.

Bid with confidence Paypal or cash only. I have the clean title in hand (no liens). I will be happy to assist with vehicle transportation around Atlanta or pickup from the ATL airport.

As-Is, buyer's responsibility to inspect, etc.

Mazda3 sales off to rocky start despite massive critical acclaim

Tue, 18 Mar 2014

Like just about every other auto publication we've seen, we loved the way the Mazda3 drove when we reviewed it a few months ago, but those glowing reviews apparently aren't helping its sales. The new compact may be falling victim to a sales war between the Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic, with the newcomer getting squeezed out by those with more established names and bigger marketing budgets.
According to Automotive News, Mazda3 sales have fallen every month since last August, and its sales are down 27 percent in the first two months of 2014. It certainly isn't helping that the entire compact segment is down five percent this year as well.
The biggest problem for the new model seems to be its price compared to rivals. Mazda is not offering the incentives that are on the hood of competitors. With the previous generation, the company offered more than $2,700 on the hood to move them out, but the current model only carries about $1,233 in markdowns, according to AN.

Lexus eschews production in China over quality concerns

Sat, 03 May 2014

One of the more popular trends in the auto industry is setting up production operations in China. Mainstream manufacturers like Ford, General Motors and Volkswagen have done it, and even luxury marques like Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz have or will soon have manufacturing ops in the People's Republic.
One company that isn't building cars in China, though, is Lexus. The Toyota-owned luxury brand still manufactures all of its vehicles in Japan (aside from a few RXs, which are built at a Toyota factory in Canada). According to Tokuo Fukuichi, Lexus just isn't ready to build cars there yet.
"The German Three have a brand image that they have cultivated over the past century in their long history, but Lexus is not in people's minds like that yet," Fukuichi-san told Reuters UK.

Takata air bag recall list

Tue, Dec 9 2014

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration confirmed yesterday that 33.8 million vehicles with Takata airbags are going to be recalled. It's the largest recall in automotive history. The already record-breaking rate of automotive recalls this year shows no signs of slowing down, especially since millions of cars with defective airbags made by global supplier Takata are under ongoing scrutiny. The federal government is warning owners that inflator mechanisms in the air bags can rupture, causing metal fragments to fly out when the bags are deployed. The faulty air bags have already been blamed for multiple deaths. How do you know if your vehicle is safe? The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration released an updated list of vehicles under recall. Sometimes however, the government's website will crash and the list may not be complete. Check your VIN at the NHTSA website to make sure. The list of cars affected by the recall has not been released, but seem to span multiple models over the years for many of the automakers.
