I'm selling my 1996 Toyota Land Cruiser that I have owned
since 2009. All options work.
Power windows and locks all work.
Aftermarket AM/FM stereo with in dash CD player w/ remote. The AC and Heater work good,
Power steering with tilt. Equipped with dual power seats but neither fully
work, Towing package and alloy wheels. Tires are 35" with 40% tread left
on them and the spare is brand new 35" BFG A/T. Original motor and
transmission. I had the motor looked at when truck miles were approx.160000 and
had a head gasket replaced. This truck has been very well maintained. It has
always been serviced and tuned on time every time. This is and has been a great truck. I hate to see it like this and really hate to have to get rid of it. This is my 3rd Land Cruiser that I have owned and the best one yet. This is a great investment for someone that is a current Land Cruiser owner that is looking for parts in good condition or who wants to upgrade theirs with locking differentials a lift, a custom bumper, etc. Also, I have a 92-93 model Aisin-Seiko automatic transmission that I was planning to use in the future on this Land Cruiser for a diesel conversion that can be sold separately or if interested I may be willing to include with the sale of the Land Cruiser. Auto execs surveyed say VW, BMW most likely to grow
Thu, 17 Jan 2013A new survey of top global automotive executives indicates both Volkswagen and BMW are the most likely to grow their market share over the next five years.
Tax advisory firm KPMG LLP has released its 14th annual Global Automotive Executive Survey, which includes responses from over 200 executives. A total of 81 percent of respondents said they expect to see Volkswagen make gains, compared to 70 percent last year. BMW, meanwhile, saw 70 percent of those surveyed say they believe the company will increase its market share. That's a jump of 7 percentage points over last year. This is the first time in the history of the survey that BMW has claimed the second-place spot.
Meanwhile, Hyundai has seen its perceived market share potential slacken for the third year in a row. Around 61 percent of those surveyed predicted gains for Hyundai, down from 63 in 2012. Toyota also has a surprising year, but for just the opposite reason. While the manufacturer had slipped in ranking since 2011, it enjoyed the largest increase of any company in the 2013 survey, jumping to 68 percent from 44 percent last year.

Toyota Hilux gets heart transplant from Lexus IS F
Thu, Sep 10 2015The Toyota Hilux might not be sold in the US, but Toyota's venerable pickup has an international reputation of being able to go anywhere and do just about anything. The trucks aren't really known for their speed, though, at least until Toyota South Africa Motorsport's new, one-off project. This bruiser ditches the usual diesel engine and replaces it with an unrestricted 5.0-liter V8 from a Lexus IS F making 449 horsepower. Of course, it takes more than power to handle the rigors of high speed off-roading. The motorsport team also adds bigger, competition-spec brakes, fully adjustable dampers, new springs, and retuned gearing to make the truck look practically ready for the Dakar Rally. The gearbox is really the only part that carries over. The V8 gives the special Hilux quite a mean growl, too. With the new Tacoma just launching in the US, maybe the engineers at TRD need to apply this same concept over here for its own Lexus-engined, one-off pickup.
