1994 Toyota Land Cruiser Base Sport Utility 4-door 4.5l, Factory Locking Diffs on 2040-cars
Castro Valley, California, United States
Selling this well maintained, 1994 Toyota Landcruiser with the desirable locking front and rear differentials. Bought this for my ex-girlfriend who cannot appreciate when someone is trying to help her out. Her American-Built, Mercedes ML350 needs thousands in repairs. Hell, it is worth less than the repairs. Thought I'd be a nice guy and buy her a reliable rig. WRONG!!! "Why would I want this when I have a Mercedes". Well, wrong attitude to take with me. So, I am left to sell what I bought. It is a two owner Landcruiser. It has been serviced to the "hilt". It has a two inch thick folder with every oil change, every service history and the BEST, the head was resurfaced and the headgasket was just changed 50,000 miles ago. It has traveled a scant, 201,500 Toyota miles. Now, those of you who are in the Toyota knowledge know that this girl, having been serviced like clockwork, will go another 200,000 miles with the proper maintenance. I would keep this girl but I have an AWD wagon that is easier on my dog. hahahahhahahaha. Now, back to the Landcruiser, it runs GREAT. Just took it on a two hour trip and the A/C blows COLD, the transmission shifts smooth and the Landcruiser just runs like a champ. The tires have decent tread, 1/4 inch but I would change them before the rains come. The windows all roll up and down with ease. The sunroof slides back and forth with ease. It tilts fine. The dash is not cracked like most Landcruisers. The composite lights are not hazed. The headliner is clean. The hatch points are clean. The third roll looks like it has NEVER been sat in. The driver seat has a few tears but slides nicely, front and back on both sides. It even has a vintage cell phone connection from 1994. It has the owner's manual and three keys. There is a tow hitch on the back, class 3. It will make an excellent addition to any garage. Selling for NO RESERVE.
With all my auctions, a few requirements. First, NO PAYPAL. Second, any and all bidders with less than 10 feedback, and/or negative feedback, need to contact me PRIOR to bidding with their name and contact number, NO EXCEPTIONS or your bids will be cancelled and your user ID blocked from additional bidding. Third, you are bidding to OWN, not look and make excuses. Once the auction is completed, YOU are the new owner. Any and all inspections welcome during the auction period, not after.
Also, selling in AS-IS, Where-Is condition, with no warranties, expressed or implied. Seller has represented vehicle to the best of his knowledge and makes no representations regarding condition of vehicle that are not known to him at time of sale. Vehicle is also advertised locally and seller reserves right to end auction early if sold outside of ebay. Any and all bidders who cannot wait until auction's end can email seller for a buy it now if they desire. Selling again, for NO RESERVE
. I have posted two videos on the Landcruiser. Please copy and paste to see the videos as ebay no longer allows seller to post links on our ads.

Scion reveals iM concept ahead of LA debut
Wed, 12 Nov 2014After dropping a teaser image on us a few weeks ago, Scion has revealed in full the new iM Concept it's bringing to the Los Angeles Auto Show next week. As expected, the concept is clearly a rebadged version of the Euro-market Toyota Auris, only with some "European Racing Circuit Styling" upgrades to make it look more aggressive.
Along with the Scion logos, the five-door hatch is treated to a deeper air dam flanked by angular vents with stacked fog lamps, beefed-up wheel arches linked by widened side sills and filled with 19-inch, anthracite-finish alloys on low-profile rubber. Vented brake discs and four-piston calipers join an adjustable suspension as show-worthy equipment upgrades.
The sporty treatment continues around back with a similarly aggressive rear bumper and roof spoiler. Even the wing mirrors are replaced with narrower units. Little wonder it's all done up in a shade Scion calls "incrediblue" that looks rather similar to what sister-brand Lexus would put on one of its F-branded performance models - or for that matter what corporate ally Subaru would put on an STI hot hatches like the WRX.
Half of Chinese car buyers won't shop Japanese over hard feelings
Mon, May 26 2014The hard feelings between China and Japan is no real secret. Besides modern-day disputes, the two countries have had a long-running enmity that dates back to well before the atrocities of World War II. All things considered, then, it shouldn't be a shock that half of Chinese car buyers wouldn't consider a Japanese car. This survey, conducted by Bernstein Research, found that 51 percent of 40,000 Chinese consumers wouldn't even consider a Japanese car – which, again, isn't really surprising, when you consider stories like this. According to Bernstein, the most troubling thing is the location of these sentiments – smaller, growing cities where the population is going to need sets of wheels. We imagine it wouldn't be as big of an issue in traffic-clogged Shanghai or Beijing, but these small cities are going to become a major focus for automakers. "Nationalistic feelings are an impediment. [Japanese] premium brands will struggle," analyst Max Warburton wrote in a research note, according to The Wall Street Journal. Things will improve for Japanese makes, although China will remain a challenge, with Warburton writing, "the one thing that comes out most clearly is that most Chinese really want a German car. While we expect Japanese brands to continue to recover market share this year, ultimately the market will belong to the Germans." There are a few other insights from the study. According to WSJ, Japanese brands are viewed better than Korean brands, and they're seen as more comfortable than the offerings from Germany or the US, despite the fact that everyone in China apparently wants a German car. This is a tough position for the Japanese makes to be in, as there's really not a lot they can do to win favor with Chinese buyers. It will be interesting to see how this plays out, particularly as the importance of the PRC continues to increase year after year. Editors' Picks March 2021 | Ford Mustang Mach-E, Polestar 2, Land Rover Defender and more
Thu, Apr 8 2021The month of March was unofficial minivan month here at Autoblog. We drove all of them but the Kia Carnival, but don’t worry, you wonÂ’t have to wait much longer to read that review. Among all the family-toting machines, we drove some more exciting vehicles including the Land Rover Defender and a pair of up-and-coming EVs. It was a month of excellent cars, meaning that this monthÂ’s litter of EditorsÂ’ Picks is stacked. In case you missed FebruaryÂ’s picks, hereÂ’s a quick refresher on whatÂ’s going on here. We rate all the new cars we drive with a 1-10 score. Cars that are exemplary or stand out in their respective segments get EditorsÂ’ Pick status. Those are the ones weÂ’d recommend to our friends, family and anybody whoÂ’s curious and asks the question. The list that youÂ’ll find below consists of every car we rated in March that earned the honor of being an EditorsÂ’ Pick. 2021 Ford Bronco Sport 2021 Ford Bronco Sport First Edition View 32 Photos Quick take: Ford's baby Bronco is an authentic foil to the big Bronco 2-Door and 4-Door. It brings rugged styling, better-than-average off-road capability and thoughtful utility features to a generic segment of cars. Score: 8 What it competes with: Jeep Compass, Jeep Cherokee, Mazda CX-30, Subaru Crosstrek, Kia Seltos, Chevrolet Trailblazer Pros: Stellar design, excellent off-road, clever interior details throughout Cons: Pricier than most, average transmission, underwhelming interior quality and ambiance in lowest trims From the editors: Road Test Editor Zac Palmer — “I genuinely enjoy driving this cute crossover. It feels like a mini truck on the road, and Ford admirably translated the design from its big Bronco over to this Escape-based crossover. News Editor Joel Stocksdale — "The Bronco Sport isn't perfect, the transmission could use some work, and it's a little bumpy, but it's a characterful little thing with loads of style, great visibility and space, and impressive capabilities on and off road in the powerful Badlands form." In-depth analysis: 2021 Ford Bronco Sport Review | Bronco for the masses  2021 Land Rover Defender 2021 Land Rover Defender 110 View 64 Photos Quick take: The Land Rover Defender provides everything you'd hope for in a modern Land Rover: superlative off-road capability, surprisingly plush on-road demeanor, abundant interior space and abundant character. The base four-cylinder is likely all you'll need and lower trim levels provide more than enough equipment.
