You are bidding on nice and clean 1994 Toyota Land Cruiser. This is a real, frame-based, full time 4 wheel drive, unstoppable off-road vehicle, not a sedan-based crosser. This year-model is remarkable by the fact that this is the last year of a bullet-proof A442F transmission, AKA "bus tranny", "Japanese Allison", and for purpose: it's almost as big as the engine itself. Slightly modified version of this transmission was installed on medium-duty trucks such as Mitsubishi Fuso, Nissan UD, Hino. As a matter of fact, this makes the Land Cruiser a perfect candidate for diesel swap. Starting 1995 this Land Cruiser model was equipped with A343F transmission, which is much smaller, probably the Japanese decided that Americans do not need such a strong transmission for "shopping malls crawling". First of all, don't let the mileage fool you: with proper maintenance this truck will make at least twice as much miles, easy. The engine purrs like a kitten, one can barely hear it running. Transmission engages in Drive and Reverse without delay, shifts smoothly. There are 2 factory locking differentials. Brakes are amazing, stopping the truck on a dime. Suspension is firm yet comfortable with good shocks. This Land Cruiser has 4 brand new Yokohama tires, don't ask me how much I paid for! But... the safety is priceless. There is a good aftermarket Alpine radio CD. The seats are clean, showing the signs of normal use, but no rips or tears. There also a full set of original tools, full size spare with matching rim. The truck has second heater under front passenger seat, so no worries for coming winter! On some picture it looks like some body parts are of different color. This is due to a special paint, which is called Mica Green, it changes from green to blue, depending of light angle. The paint is overall in very good condition with some light scratches and small paint chips. The Land Cruiser actually had less owners than the history shows, I re-registered it to my wife's name. I described this truck to the best of my knowledge, if you need additional information, please feel free to ask. This truck is legendary for it's reliability and off-road capability. Today brand new Toyota Land Cruiser cost $80,000. You can get this legend for a small fraction of this price, because I'm selling it with NO RESERVE, the highest bidder will take it! Thank you for watching and happy bidding! ATTENTION ZERO FEEDBACK BIDDERS, YOU MUST CONTACT ME WITH YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS AND PHONE NUMBER FOR APPROVAL, OTHERWISE YOUR BIDS WILL BE CANCELED, NO EXCEPTION!

Weekly Recap: Ferrari, Ford and Porsche power up for Geneva

Sat, Feb 7 2015

Monday was Groundhog Day. Tuesday, apparently, was Sports Car Day. The Ferrari 488 GTB, the Ford Focus RS and the Porsche Cayman GT4 all debuted within hours of each other ahead of their rollouts at the Geneva Motor Show. Three sporty machines, three vastly different approaches – and a lot of implications for enthusiasts. That's a day worth repeating. It also illustrates the opportunities automakers see in the performance market, which is expected to grow in the coming years. Ford estimates the segment has expanded 14 percent in Europe and surged 70 percent in North America since 2009. The Detroit Auto Show was evidence of this, and performance cars of every stripe debuted, including the Acura NSX, Ford GT, Alfa Romeo 4C Spider and several others. This isn't a fad. Performance cars aren't going away. The question is why? Stricter CAFE standards are looming in the United States, as are tighter emissions regulations in Europe. And no one expects gas prices to remain low in America. None of this matters for sports cars, and automakers are increasingly using them to elevate their images. That's why Dodge rolled out two 707-horsepower Hellcats last year. It's why Ford has decided to resurrect the GT for road and track. It's why in the depths of bankruptcy, General Motors continued work on the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, not to mention the Z06. "Great brands are made one car at a time," Ford of Europe president Jim Farley said at the reveal of the Focus RS. Still, companies make those cars for different reasons. View 5 Photos Mainstream brands like Ford and Dodge want to build cars that get people talking, excite their bases and drive more potential customers into the showroom. They probably don't buy a Focus RS or a Hellcat, but suddenly the regular Focus hatch looks a bit hotter, and that V6 Charger seems to be just a touch more muscular. The halo of performance is alive and well in the eyes of automakers and their customers. "It's one of the most effective catalysts for ingenuity and innovation," said Joe Bakaj, vice president of product development for Ford of Europe. That also leads to a trickle-down effect. Some of the technologies inevitably make their way to other products. It's hard to think the new all-wheel-drive system in the Focus RS that distributes torque front to rear and side to side won't be used in other vehicles. It's different for Ferrari and Porsche.

2015 Toyota Yaris to start at $14,845* and look like this

Thu, 24 Jul 2014

Toyota released a new Yaris in Europe and its Vitz clone in Japan a few months ago, so we knew it would only be a matter of time before it would launch the new hatchback here in North America. And that time has come.
The new, more distinctive 2015 Yaris features far more aggressive exterior styling, a look set apart by that large lower air dam and X-motif front end. It rides on a retuned suspension hooked up to an altogether more rigid chassis, and Toyota promises it will ride more quietly and comfortably than the model it replaces. Inside the new model has additional soft-touch materials in a more comfortable cabin equipped with everything from a 6.1-inch touchscreen display to nine airbags.
The 2015 Yaris comes in both three- and five-door bodystyles, and three trim levels that seek to eliminate the need for options packages. In fact the only option to speak of is a dealer-installed nav system. Power comes from a modest 1.5-liter four with variable valve timing, dual overhead cams and sixteen valves, sending 106 horsepower and 103 pound-feet of torque through either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic.

Toyota Hilux successor spotted

Mon, 15 Sep 2014

The midsize truck segment is suddenly seemingly exploding with new vehicles worldwide, even here in North America. Not only will the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon be available very soon, Toyota is already testing a replacement for its aging Tacoma and Honda has promised a Ridgeline replacement within the next 18 months. Also, the recently shown Nissan Navara is said to portend the future of our Frontier. Here's some more fresh evidence from Europe of this pickup boom with the next generation of its venerable Hilux in testing.
Thanks to Top Gear and sometimes the evening news, the Hilux has built a reputation of being able to go just about anywhere. According to out spy shooter, this particular pickup was spotted during hot weather testing in southern Europe. Interestingly, a Volkswagen Amarok was along for the ride as a benchmark. Because the VW tends to offer a bit more comfort than the generally utilitarian Hilux, this could indicate Toyota is considering taking the new truck in a slightly comfier, more refined direction.
Compared to the current model, this camouflaged tester sports a narrower front grille and headlights. The hood scoop is also absent here. The lower air dam also receives a more horizontal look, but the more vertical fog light housings provide some contrast. The crazy camouflage pattern makes things hard to discern at the rear, but the taillights appear to be more slender than they on the current model. Unfortunately, mechanical details about the new truck remain a mystery at the moment, but enjoy these spy shots as a preview of one more upcoming pickup.
