This auction is for a 1994 Toyota Land Cruiser 4X4 SUV and is on here to be sold-no games, no gimmicks, NO RESERVE. This Land Cruiser has a 4.5L inline 6 cylinder engine and automatic transmission. It has 218k miles, and is a 3 local owner vehicle here in Ohio. Green exterior with charcoal gray cloth interior, both of which are in decent shape for their age, but not show worthy. The exterior does have oxidation in the paint in some areas, rust on running boards and bottoms of the doors. It also has it's fair share of nicks, scratches, small dings, etc associated with the age and the mileage. The interior is in a bit better shape with only some damage to the passenger door interior panel (see pics) and a stain in the cargo area from a dropped paint can. Aside from being dirty and needing a good cleaning, that is about all worth mentioning inside. It does have power windows, power locks, power moonroof, power mirrors, cruise control, CD and Tape player, A/C, tilt steering column, etc-and most everything works. As far as I know, this vehicle has never been in any accidents. This vehicle is in need of some repairs, and I will try to list ALL that I know it needs, so here it goes:
The Michelin tires are at the end of their life and need replaced soon
All 4 shocks need replaced-there is a noise in the rear as result of this
The exhaust system leaks and needs replaced
The check engine light is on (due to exhaust leak)
Power antenna mast needs replaced (motor works fine)
Driver side rear window needs new motor
Engine accessory (power steering, alternator, etc) belts need replaced
Has a small engine oil leak from valve cover
Needs regular service (Lube, oil and filter change; fluid top off, etc)
May need other little things that I don't know about, but nothing major-no suprises!
Overall, this is a good running truck that has plenty of life left, but does need some repairs to be a reliable, daily highway driver again (in my opinion). Has clean and clear Ohio title. PLEASE, SERIOUS BIDDERS/BUYERS ONLY! I have listed this here to sell! I may end the auction early due to a local sale, so bid early and bid high! This vehicle is being sold AS IS, WHERE IS and for this reason I have tried to describe it as honest as possible but if you have any questions, feel free to ask and thanks for looking!
NOTE: There is a "Lexus" emblem on the tail gate, but this was added at some point in its life, it is NOT a Lexus, it is a Toyota and is the original tail gate to this truck. The Lexus SUV was almost identical in this model year, so I assume somebody wanted to "fool" the public into thinking it was more refined than a Toyota SUV haha.

Jaguar solution to keyless start could save lives
Mon, May 14 2018UPDATED: An earlier version of this story indicated the Jaguar keyless start function was meant as a safety feature, when in fact, it is meant as a convenience one and will not work as described if automatic stop/start is not engaged. Today, The New York Times published an article about more than two dozen deaths related to drivers accidentally leaving their cars running, closing their garages and later succumbing to carbon monoxide that flooded their homes. The reason has been identified as "keyless start" features, or proximity entry and push-button start, where owners don't need to physically handle a key or fob to gain entry into the vehicle or start it. It is the latest, and deadliest, issue raised with this system after those related to security and simple inconvenience (for instance, leaving the car at a valet or car wash with the fob in your pocket). From my personal perspective, The New York Times had a rather harsh "evil carmakers" tone throughout the article. This is not a matter of a known faulty component, as with the GM ignition switch recall. This has as much to do with user error where people leave their car without pressing the "off" button and without noticing the engine is still running. About half of the cars in question are produced by Toyota and Lexus, brands that have offered keyless start longer than most. They are also brands with high rates of elderly owners, who seemingly made up a majority of reported deaths and injuries. One fire department in Florida even started a campaign alerting those in the area of the dangers of leaving your car running when it noticed a correlation between an increase in cars equipped with keyless start and calls related to carbon monoxide poisoning. I see several contributing issues at play, most of which go well beyond this particular issue. First is insufficient training of owners by dealers and/or owners not paying close enough attention during this training. Cars are complicated, but you should at least know how basic functions work. Second, woefully inadequate driver training in this country. Third, and with apologies to the AARP, insufficient testing of elderly drivers and/or insufficiently low standards for elderly drivers. If you don't know you have to shut the car off or cannot hear that an engine is running, perhaps you shouldn't be driving. Fourth, re-examining keyless start systems.
Watch the Muppets go for ice cream in a Toyota
Tue, 25 Feb 2014Do Muppets drive? We're not sure it's necessarily a good idea, but it's been known to happen. Fozzy called his hibernating uncle's Studebaker a bear's "natural habitat," and Doctor Teeth wouldn't get the Electric Mayhem very far without his band's psychedelically painted school bus. But how about Rolf in a 2014 Toyota Highlander?
That's what we got a glimpse of in the run-up to the Super Bowl, and the same combination (plus one Rizzo the Rat) that features in this adorably ordinary video below. Ordinary because it's just a couple of guys going out for an ice cream. Adorable because, well... they're Muppets. See what we mean in the surprisingly entertaining two-minute clip below.
2015 Toyota Prius C is still colorful, still gets 53 mpg
Wed, 19 Nov 2014Few vehicles can match the affordable fuel economy of the $19,000, 53-mile-per-gallon Toyota Prius C, and that fact isn't likely to change for 2015, as the Japanese company has issued a moderate refresh of its sub-compact hybrid.
As mid-cycle refreshes go, this is a pretty standard affair, with a larger grille and tweaked LED headlights at the front of the Prius C, and more expressive taillights at the back. Toyota made some minor changes in the cabin, updating materials throughout, but not fiddling too much with the overall level of equipment.
Aside from those modest changes, this is the same fuel-efficient five-door, retaining its 1.5-liter, 73-horsepower, 82-pound-foot four-cylinder, while an electric motor tosses in an extra 26 ponies, for a total system output of 99 horsepower. Along with the 53-mpg highway rating, the C will return 46 mpg in the city.
