Up for sale is this jaw dropping 1988 Toyota Land Cruiser. Turn some heads in this classic!! Truck is awesome and almost everyday someone ask me if I want to sell it or stops me to ask or talk about in general. It's not a "family" car and as much as I'd like to keep it I have to part ways...This is my first time buying an older car and making it pretty. I'm not a mechanic nor am I a person who restores car, just thought this would be a cool project because I really liked this car. Clean FL title, automatic, 206,998k miles. ***Title*** Apparently the title was rebuilt back in 1990 or so, however I had no idea until I listed the truck earlier and eBay removed the listing because I listed it as having a clear title. I have my title in hand and it's a clear FL title so I'm not sure why or how when you do a vin search the rebuilt/reconstructed title comes up. I've added a picture of the title with the pictures of the truck. |

HQ move based on study, not pitch from Gov. Perry, Toyota says
Tue, 29 Apr 2014Toyota's surprising announcement on Monday that it will move its North American headquarters from Torrance, CA location to the Dallas suburb of Plano, TX is allegedly not due to any political wrangling from the state's Republican governor, Rick Perry.
Perry (above) has been up front in his aggressive pursuit of businesses and jobs for Texas, traveling to California, Missouri, Illinois and New York to tempt corporations to his state. And it's not just about the promise of much lower taxes, a Perry spokesman reminds Automotive News that the state boasts, "a workforce that is skilled and ready to do any job."
For his part, Jim Lentz, Toyota's North American CEO said Plano was chosen through an internal process, with the location helped by its proximity to the company's massive pickup factory in San Antonio rather than any campaigning from the governor.
NHTSA investigating 561k Toyota Prius hybrids for possible steering shaft defect
Mon, 25 Feb 2013The Detroit News is reporting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration will investigate some 561,000 Toyota Prius models for potentially defective steering shafts. The affected hybrid models are from the 2004-2009 model years. The story indicates that NHTSA is weighing whether or not to grant a defect petition, which claims that Toyota incorrectly assembled the hatchback's steering linkage.
As of this writing, there is no recall. However, a recall based on the Prius steering shaft would be the third related to steering issues for the model since 2006. Seven years ago, Toyota recalled 170K Prius models for potential cracking of the intermediate shafts, and in November of 2012, the automaker recalled 670K units to replace the steering shaft extension assembly.
We'll be monitoring NHTSA's signals to see if this investigation turns into a full-fledged recall. For now, stay tuned.
Toyota Prius gets higher clearance, better suspension in Pakistan
Thu, Jan 2 2014It's been 16 years since the Toyota Prius launched in Japan. Finally, the world's most popular hybrid is becoming the first hybrid car to show up in Pakistan. This version of the Prius has been customized by Indus Motor Company (IMC) in order to deal with, well, let's just say some challenging road conditions. IMC knows what it's doing, and has modified Toyota and Daihatsu vehicles for the Pakistani market for over 20 years. The Prius brings with it the iconic shape and Parvez Ghias, CEO of IMC, told The Technology Times that the car's arrival, "is indeed a great milestone, not only in the history of IMC, but, of the entire nation." Pakistan Today says that IMC is beefing up the ground clearance of the imported Priuses and adds a "robust suspension system." Why would this be important? Well, the US Department of State warns travelers to beware of crowded roads, aggressive and poorly trained drivers and bad roads that could include potholes and sharp drop-offs. Then there's the "donkeys, cattle, horse carts, and even the occasional camel [that] can pose roadside hazards in some areas." There's also the big problem of terrorism-related violence in Pakistan, but we haven't heard that the Pakistan Prius has been bullet- and shrapnel-proofed.
