1986 Toyota Land Cruiser Bj73 Frp Top Diesel Mwb And Lhd !!!! on 2040-cars

Year:1980 Mileage:90000
Location:

Van Alstyne, Texas, United States

Van Alstyne, Texas, United States

I am selling my Toyota Land Cruiser BJ73 ,this is a medium wheelbase 70 series cruiser with the removable FRP Hard top.It is a 1986 with only 140K Kilometers wich is only 90K miles on it's very robust 3B diesel motor and H55 5 speed manual transmission. To top this off it even comes with the rear Full Floater axle with a Factory OEM limited slip differential.I imported this truck from Belgium myself and have it already registered and titled so it comes with a clean and clear Texas title.......not like the other imports where you have to run around for the paperwork! The 70 series are the successor from the early FJ40 series and are still produced new today for all the hostile terrains all over the world....just not for the US :(

I have put around 8K miles on it and it is mecanicly perfect, the body has been repainted and there are some spots that have some bubbles under the paint. It is not a show car but a very nice driving Cruiser,I am not trying to get a premium for it but I am not gonna give it away neither, the low miles 3B and H55 and the FF floateraxles are hard to find a Left hand drive diesel Landcruiser with only 90K miles on it usualy ends up in the high teens low twenties this one will sell with no reserve. The heater control is missing one of the knobs but I have a complete Hvac control that will go with it.The windshield frame has some rust on the inside wich is fairly common with the 70 series,I am going to Europe next month and can bring a new Fiberglass replacement with me that will never need replacing again for the new owner if necessary. It is definetly not perfect but the ideal platform for someone looking for a nice Cruiser to prepare for wheeling or an overland travel, the money you save on purchase will get you some new options to install ;-)

So if you want to own a Diesel Land Cruiser that you can drive anywhere and do anything with it then this is your truck,if you wheel it and leave a pinstripe at the side .....it's not the end of the world ;-)

It has 4 new BF Goodridge tires and I will do a maintenance on it before I sell it,I have more then one diesel Landcruiser and have all filters and fluids in stock (they are available at Napa,O'reilly and so on)so it will be ready for the new owner to just enjoy it without doing anything to it.

It is listed as a 1980 on Ebay because Ebay does not recognize Vin's from imports, but will do this if it is before 1981.But the Cruiser is a 1986

It is also for sale local and I keep the right to end this listing early if it sells local.

Thanks for looking

Joe

Toyota GT86 convertible could debut in March

Tue, 27 Nov 2012

The dates are lining up, now we wait to see how the badges align. Just before the Toyota GT 86/Scion FR-S/Subaru BRZ line-up was introduced at the Tokyo Motor Show last year, there was a report that Subaru was considering a convertible while Toyota wouldn't even comment on it. That got swapped around when earlier this year the chief engineer on Toyota's side said a convertible was coming, and then a Scion FR-S droptop was confirmed for early 2014.
Autocar now reports that the Toyota GT 86 convertible will make its first appearance at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show in March. In a car whose specs like weight, packaging, horsepower and center of gravity were all tightly controlled to get the most from the least, the changes necessitated by chopping the roof could make this a very different car. It's said to employ a fabric roof to keep a "small" weight gain check, and the suspension will be softened to work more harmoniously with the decreased body stiffness. And somewhere in all that the back seat and trunk space will need to take a hit.
In other news, Autocar says the hi-po GT 86 with some kind of capacitor system instead of batteries is being worked on for 2015.

2013 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport

Tue, 16 Apr 2013

"Oh yeah, Toyota still makes the Tacoma." Admit it, that's what you just said to yourself. It's a perfectly natural reaction, but the Tacoma has been quietly anchoring its segment for years, outselling every other compact pickup without making too much of a fuss. Toyota hasn't neglected the Tacoma - it was updated in 2012 with a revised nose and interior as the most noteable changes.
In a world awash with high-value fullsize pickups all vying for your attention, the Tacoma still charms more than a few buyers out of their cash. I hooked a Tacoma for a week to see whether it still has enough to recommend it.
