1985 Toyota Land Cruiser Rebuilt Motor Fj60 Fj 60 Fj40 Bj Landcruiser Rust Free on 2040-cars
Hobe Sound, Florida, United States
Up for auction is a 1985 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60 series ready to become in your new adventure vehicle. The odometer shows actual 201k miles in it; however, about 1,000 miles ago we completely rebuilt the motor head with all new components, and also put new piston rings and bearings. In other words, it practically has a rebuilt engine in it. Interior is in pretty good conditions. All the seats (excluding driver’s) are with the original upholstery and in very good shape. Driver’s seat had the bottom piece re-upholstered by previous owner and unfortunately it was not the best job, decent, but not the best. Dash is in excellent conditions, with all accessories in perfect working conditions. We just installed a new Pioneer media player stereo with Pioneers speakers as well. A/C is in perfect working conditions. 4wd System is in excellent working conditions as well. All the interior floor was cleaned out, sanded, primed, and black liner in order to keep it as pristine as it is, and prevent any future rust. This liner also helps for heat and noise rejection. It has the factory 4 speed transmission and split transfer case in excellent working conditions. The engine is the factory 2F engine which we partially rebuilt, and also installed a full set of headers and high performance distributor to increase its performance on and off the road. The exterior was completely painted with Toyota Cement Gray color and black on the roof and hood area. We used our already trade mark coarse paint (liner type paint) which gives it a unique and rough look, as well as an excellent rust protectant paint job. This vehicle is completely rust through free. It had about 4 small rust spots which we already fixed with new metal before paint job. Wheels and tires were taken out of a 4Runner with only 7k miles in it; so plenty of thread life on them. Overall, this 60 series Land Cruiser is in pretty good shape and definitely an excellent vehicle to be used as a daily driver or as a weekend off road purposes vehicle. Toyota offered $146.5 million to build Lexus ES in Kentucky
Thu, 18 Apr 2013Toyota posted a media advisory yesterday saying that Akio Toyoda, president of Toyota, and Jim Lentz, CEO of Toyota North America, would be making a production announcement tomorrow in New York City, and Automotive News reports that the automaker will be announcing a plan to domestically produce the Lexus ES. According to the report, numerous plants are competing to build the ES in North America, and the State of Kentucky has offered the automaker up to $146.5 million to build the luxury sedan at the Georgetown, KY assembly plant.
If Georgetown gets the ES, which has been built in Japan since its debut in 1989, it would be built alongside the Toyota Camry, which is somewhat ironic since in our review of the 2013 Lexus ES350, we wrote that this ES finally says "goodbye to its Camry roots." In order to get the whole amount offered, the article states that Toyota would have to invest $531.2 million and hire 570 full-time workers at the plant, which doesn't sound all that unreasonable since the plant would require an additional 50,000 units of annual production, not to mention the fact that the Georgetown facility is already at its capacity for building the Camry.
Why Toyota Camry's Korea Car of the Year win is a big-time upset
Tue, 26 Feb 2013The 2013 Toyota Camry is officially the car of the year in Korea. The country's motoring press graced the Japanese sedan with the honor for the first time, officially marking a shift in prevailing Korean attitudes toward Japan and its products. According to industry analysts, buyers in the country are no longer simply choosing their purchases based on whether or not they're made in South Korea, but rather based on quality and personal choice. That's a big jump from a few years ago, when buyers viewed their purchases through a patriotic lens.
The Camry managed to edge out a total of 44 other cars, including hardware from both Hyundai and Kia, to become the first foreign vehicle to take home the Korea Automobile Journalist Association's Car of the Year award. As The Detroit News points out, just 10 years ago, domestic manufacturers held some 99 percent of the Korean car market. But a change in trade regulations has opened up the country considerably, and buyers now have access to a wide range of products from around the globe. As a result, Hyundai and Kia have countered by cutting prices in an attempt to keep their grip on the market.
Suzuki and Daihatsu join Toyota electric vehicle venture
Wed, Jul 21 2021TOKYO — Suzuki Motor Corp and Daihatsu are joining a commercial electric vehicle coalition led by Toyota Motor Corp, the carmakers announced on Wednesday, helping the Japanese alliance expand its focus from trucks to smaller cars. The two automakers will each acquire a 10% stake in the joint venture, on par with Isuzu Motors and Hino Motors, while Toyota will hold a 60% stake, they said. "With Suzuki and Daihatsu joining the project and working together, we'll be able to expand our circle of cooperation to not only cover commercial vehicles but also mini vehicles," said Toyota President Akio Toyoda. "With this expansion, I believe that we'll be able to take one step closer to a better mobility society," Toyoda said. The move comes as Japanese automakers face growing competition from tech giants and other rivals making electric and driverless cars. Toyota, Isuzu and Hino launched the Commercial Japan Partnership Technologies Corporation in April to bolster their competitive edge in connected, commercial vehicles. Daihatsu's president Soichiro Okudaira said joining the pact and introducing connected, mini-commercial vehicles would allow data sharing, a major benefit for companies to provide better services to customers and improve logistics efficiency.
