1985 Toyota
Land Cruiser FJ60

Up for sale is my 1985 FJ60 101k, 4-speed, AC, original paint. I bought this FJ60 2 months ago, and shortly afterwards I lost my job and it's my third car so unfortunately it has to go. My loss is your gain. I have copied and pasted the info from the previous owner's listing from 2 months ago. Great running and driving FJ60....solid, strong, ice cold AC, ect. Please call or e-mail with any questions. Happy Bidding!!

"I've decided to test the waters on my tried and true FJ60. I've loved this truck -- in many ways, this model is the best of all things. And this '85 is exceptionally clean and stock as FJ60's go. Four speed manual transmission that shifts well. Tracks straight and drives as it should.

I've loved the rig, even using it as a daily driver for a while. However, it has been mostly a weekend warrior, and now that I commute a bit further, it is pretty much out of the rotation. This is not a trail rig, and hasn't been beaten up...though I have taken her off road and she performs beautifully...awesome in the snow too, as she may have pulled a Jeep or three out of a ditch on an icy day. She's been well taken care of, however, and used mostly for camping, hiking and biking trips. Drives great, with good power for an FJ 60 with the original 2F.

Unlike most of the FJ's, this is not a rust machine. In fact, it is one of the cleanest original bodies I have seen; she even has factory paint. There are only a handful of very small rust spots. It has never lived in the rust belt. The original AM/FM radio works. The original AC blows nice and cold. Both front and rear heaters work. Power steering system is good. And, almost all of the FJ issues have been addressed within the last two years. Stock emissions system, with all rubber lines replaced (has always passed in Hamilton County, TN though once I had to go through twice...these beasts are notorious for failing and this one runs clean!); current compliance certificate good through mid-late October. All rubber in cooling system replaced. No exhaust leaks at or around the manifold (they almost all leak). The head was removed in order to replace the exhaust studs and refit the manifolds...all gaskets (including head gasket) were replaced and a new stainless pipe to the EGR was fitted. I wanted mine to be right). Tires are serviceable for some time to come. Interior is clean. All accessories work, including the headlight squirters and the fan for the carb for hot starts; not sure if the rear defrost works, actually, but everything else definitely does, even the interior lights and the rear cargo light.

Relatively new battery. All brakes great, with recent fluid change. All other fluids changed regularly (including differentials, tranny and transfer case as well as coolant). Includes a new alternator (new in box, just as a spare), new oil filters, an old smog pump (original and worth a mint, if you can find one!), odds and ends and factory manuals (emissions and mechanics/body). Roof rack is also included."

As stated above, there are just a few small rust areas, nothing crazy, no cancer, nothing structural, ect! VERY nice Land Cruiser! Get's a lot of looks and turns a lot of heads! The worst 2 rust spots are pictured below along with the others. There is one on the driver's inner door area near the jam...not on the body but on the door. The other is in the exact same spot on the passenger door. Again, not on the body, but on the door. The worst spots on the body are VERY small and right wear the mud flaps attach to the rear wheel wells...common. The tear in the driver's seat is just on the vinyl section, not the woven pattern area. The windshield has a star very low in the middle, not anywhere near line of sight. Rear bumper has a dent. Passenger rear quarter has some ugly feathered paint. The roof has a very odd areas when the paint appears to be thin. No clear coat peeling, but it appears you can see the primer. There are pictures of all these areas below.

This Land Cruiser is being sold AS-IS...with that being said, I drove it home 125mi without any issues. I wouldn't hesitate to hop in this rig and drive it to California tomorrow if I had to! Whoever buys it will NOT be disappointed! Fantastic Land Cruiser! My loss is your gain!

Toyota C-HR stays sharp from prototype to production

Tue, Mar 1 2016

Scion is dead. While the troubled brand was given 13 years to make a case for itself, it never quite succeeded. And that's a shame, because we're pretty confident that this, the production-spec Toyota C-HR would have been one of its biggest hits. Instead, when it arrives in the US, it will be as a Toyota... where it will still likely be a big hit. The new small CUV made its debut after literally years of teasing concepts, the most recent of which was shown late last year in Los Angeles, where it was badged as a Scion. After seeing that car, it's quite clear that Toyota has strained itself to translate its style to the real world. Up front, there's clear inspiration from the Toyota Auris/Scion iM. But aside from the front, the C-HR's biggest inspiration appears to be the Nissan Juke. View 14 Photos It's like Toyota has tried to go even further, though. Its wheel arches are flared even more aggressively and they feed into a strong character line on the lower portion of the doors. In back, Toyota's designers seem to have just rotated the Juke's taillights 180 degrees while they sit below an extremely fast rear window. Said window is integrated into today's latest design trend, a floating roof. Mechanically, the C-HR rides atop Toyota's New Global Architecture, which is Japan's answer to Volkswagen's MQB architecture. Power comes from a hybrid drivetrain, good for a relaxed 120 horsepower. If you don't want hybrid power, Toyota will sell the C-HR with the Euro-market Auris' turbo 1.2-liter engine, but we almost certainly won't see that here in the US. Instead, American drivers will probably be left with nothing but a 2.0-liter, naturally aspirated four-cylinder. That engine will be exclusively paired with a continuously variable transmission that sends power to either the front- or to all four wheels. So there's Juke inspiration, but not in the driving character. Toyota says it will build the C-HR Hybrid in Turkey. We don't know if that facility will handle US-market vehicles or just Europe, but we wouldn't be surprised to see additional facilities come online to produce this stylish little bugger. All of the Bond cars of 'No Time To Die' (caution for spoilers)

Thu, Sep 30 2021

Note: The following overview of the cars in No Time To Die contains spoilers. Read at your own risk, or come back after seeing the film to make sure you caught everything.   No Time To Die picks up right around where Spectre leaves us. James Bond (Daniel Craig) and Madeleine Swann (Lea Seydoux) are driving along in Bond’s restored and iconic DB5 in Matera, Italy. Things donÂ’t stay all that cheery for long in picturesque Matera, though. As is tradition in Bond films, the first car chase hits us with an explosion of action in what's a super-long opening scene. Fourth-gen Maserati Quattroporte: The baddies in the beginning are driving a Maserati and chasing after Bond in the DB5. Specifically, theyÂ’re in a fourth-gen Quattroporte, which feels right for a chase scene in Italy. Its squared-off looks are mean enough, and its Italian growl is a good background soundtrack to the DB5Â’s inline-six. In addition to the Quattroporte, the chase scene in Matera is home to a couple of the best stunts of the entire movie, including the arch jump done with a Triumph motorcycle seen in trailers — Matera is extremely hilly. Eventually, Bond and Swann find themselves in the DB5 again together, which is where the famous gatling gun scene from the trailer commences, but not before the bulletproof windows and body of the DB5 are thoroughly tested. RIP to the first-gen Range Rover Classics and Jaguar XFs that joined the Maserati in pursuit of Bond (here's a list of other Bond cars over the years). As the DB5 escape scene concludes, we catch a glimpse of what appears to be a Ferrari from the 1970s. However, the view was far enough away that weÂ’ll need a second look to be sure of the exact model. Land Rover Series III: Next time we see Bond, heÂ’s fishing in Jamaica and driving around a blue Land Rover Series III. ItÂ’s yet another of the many Land Rover products featured throughout the film, and unlike most of BondÂ’s Aston Martins, this one doesnÂ’t seem to have any unique features. The other intriguing vehicle out of Jamaica? An old Chevrolet Bel-Air expertly and effectively piloted by Bond newcomer, Ana de Armas. Next up, we get a few shots of the new and still-not-for-sale Aston Martin Valhalla mid-engine supercar (also seen in trailers). BondÂ’s old boss M is in the scene which appears to have been shot in some secret wind tunnel of sorts. Much to our dismay, nobody ends up driving the Valhalla in the film. Could it be a teaser for what the next 007Â’s car is?

Toyota hangs on to title of world's largest automaker for first half of 2013

Fri, 26 Jul 2013

General Motors and Ford can have all the success they please, but it doesn't seem like America's two largest manufacturers are going to topple Toyota in the first half of 2013. According to Reuters, Toyota moved 4.91 million vehicles in the first six months of 2013, representing a 1.1-percent drop from the same period in 2012.
GM is on the rise, though, with a four-percent increase in global sales, to 4.85 million. Volkswagen, still sitting in third, saw a 5.5-percent jump to 4.7 million vehicles in the first half of 2013.
If this pace continues for Toyota, it'll finish 2013 in the top sales spot for the second year in a row. The manufacturer fell to third, behind GM and VW, in 2011 after earthquakes and tsunamis ravaged its production capacity.
