Its hard to find a Land Cruiser in this condition, from 1984.

This FJ60 must have spent the majority of its life in California or Arizona, it is in great shape. It has all four of its original Factory Mud Flaps, and yes they are attached with the original hardware ! We purchased it in SLC a little over a year ago. We have upgraded the ignition system with a DUI Distributer and "fire-wires" from DUI. A little hotter spark plug, some carburetor work and adjusted the valves. Now she runs and drives like a Cruiser should.

The previous owner had replaced the suspension with an Old Man Emu complete kit and this Cruiser rides nice, both on and off the blacktop. She has plenty of miles on the odometer, but they must be all highway because she is still running strong. This Cruiser is a fine example of how durable a properly maintained Cruiser can be.

The interior is in good shape. The front seats should be recovered and the dash has a hole/crack in the speaker panel. All lights are in working order and the electrical system appears to be original and "un-molested" .

We have owned 4 or 5 FJ60's over the years, and this one is in the best shape we have ever owned. It appears to have had regular service and garaged, all its life. The paint was original and the previous owned did a good job in keeping it clean. We felt it was time for a bit of a "make-over" so we had it painted this winter. the entire body was sanded, sealed and painted its original color.

This '59 Cadillac is now on display at Toyota's museum in Japan

The Toyota Automobile Museum is different from a lot of other automaker collections in one very interesting way: It doesn't focus solely on Toyota's own automobiles. While the home team is certainly well represented, the love is spread to plenty of non-Toyota brands and vehicles that are significant to automotive history. And that permanent collection now includes the 1959 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz convertible you see here. Yes, the '59 Caddy has the biggest tail fins ever, which makes it measurably significant. You still wouldn't expect to see it in a museum in Japan, though. After updates to the facility and its exhibits finish early next year, the 67-vehicle collection will also include such greats as a Renault 5 (known here as the Le Car), a '64 Ford Mustang, an Audi Quattro, a first-gen Honda Insight, and a Lotus Elite. Someone over there has good taste. You can visit the Toyota Automobile Museum the next time you're in Nagakute City, which is right outside Nagoya. We're booking our tickets now. Expedition drives from Russia to Canada over North Pole...

No, a Ford Expedition did not drive from Russia to Canada via the North Pole, but that's exactly what a team of intrepid explorers accomplished recently. Using specially-modified buses with massive tires, the group slowly drove 2,485 miles in 70 days over drifting ice, occasionally using a pickaxe to clear a path and staying on guard for chasms that could open up and plunge the team into the frigid arctic waters. Average speeds were about 6 mph, "at the speed of a (farm) tractor." While the big tires technically allowed the buses to float if the need arose, the team preferred to stay out of the water to keep the suspension from getting coated in thick, hard ice. Falling in on foot would mean almost certain death.
According to Phys.org, the buses were powered by Toyota diesel engines, but were built with prototype parts from a previous driving expedition to the North Pole. Right now, the machines are parked in a garage in Canada's Resolute Bay while the the team rests up with family back home. They plan to continue their trek to back across the Bering Straight to Russia. If successful, the team may eventually offer a version of their buses for commercial sale.

HQ move based on study, not pitch from Gov. Perry, Toyota says

Toyota's surprising announcement on Monday that it will move its North American headquarters from Torrance, CA location to the Dallas suburb of Plano, TX is allegedly not due to any political wrangling from the state's Republican governor, Rick Perry.
Perry (above) has been up front in his aggressive pursuit of businesses and jobs for Texas, traveling to California, Missouri, Illinois and New York to tempt corporations to his state. And it's not just about the promise of much lower taxes, a Perry spokesman reminds Automotive News that the state boasts, "a workforce that is skilled and ready to do any job."
For his part, Jim Lentz, Toyota's North American CEO said Plano was chosen through an internal process, with the location helped by its proximity to the company's massive pickup factory in San Antonio rather than any campaigning from the governor.
