1981 Toyota Land Cruiser Fj40 on 2040-cars
Ogden, Utah, United States
1981 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40. Full frame-up restoration including a completely new rear tub.
Hello and thank you for looking at this beautiful example of a show-room condition FJ40. It really is stunning and
in excellent condition. There really is too much to list that went in to this restoration. I think the biggest
component and best selling points are that it's a 1981 (a very rare year) and that I replaced the entire rear tub.
Body Process: The entire Land Cruiser was broken down into pieces and sent to the sand blaster. Then all pieces
were sanded, etched, primed, sealed and sent to a professional body shop in Salt Lake City. The parts were
professionally painted in Toyota T-309 paint.
Drivetrain: The drivetrain is perfect. Tons of power. Excellent compression in all 6-cyl's. Transmission is the
4-speed Toyota and the T-Case is stock. Tires and rims are brand new with less than 50 miles
on them. The entire exhaust system (cat and muffler) are brand new.

Toyota launches updated Yaris in Europe, Vitz in Japan [w/videos]
Wed, 23 Apr 2014Toyota first launched the Yaris in 1999, though that model was sold in the North America as the Echo. The second generation arrived in 2005, replaced by the third in 2011. Sometime next year, Toyota is expected to roll out a new Yaris for North America, to be built in Mexico on the same platform as the next Mazda2. But before that comes to pass, Toyota has introduced a mild facelift for the Yaris in markets other than ours.
With styling cues borrowed from the new Aygo and the Yaris Hybrid-R concept, the new Yaris (for Europe) and Vitz (for Japan) are distinguished by updated styling front and rear. Though the European model bears a more aggressive look than the JDM version, both feature the new X motif that seems to be the new look for the whole family - particularly for small hatchbacks.
The back end has also been revised to incorporate new LED taillights and a (faux) diffuser in the bumper. The cabin, meanwhile, has been redesigned to feel roomier and quieter with upgraded equipment. The suspension has also been refined, and in Europe at least, Toyota will continue to offer the Yaris with a choice of 1.0- or 1.3-liter gasoline engines, 1.4-liter diesel or hybrid powertrains.
Toyota headed to New York with 2014 Highlander, revised Scion tC
Thu, 21 Mar 2013Toyota has given us a look at what the company will bring to the 2013 New York Auto Show. Visitors will get to set their eyes upon the all-new 2014 Highlander, and while the automaker isn't saying much in the way of details, we do get the teaser you see above (click to enlarge) to ponder on until next week. The image shows little more than a headlamp and a bit of grille, but gives us the flavor of what the crossover will bring to the table.
Scion, meanwhile, says it plans to dust off the "new 2014 tC sports coupe." While we don't imagine the two door will have undergone a major surgery, we're interested to see what the automaker has cooked up. The tC last endured a redesign in 2011. Check out the brief press release below and look for the vehicles to bow on March 28.Y
