1980 Toyota Land Cruiser Fj43 Base Sport Utility 2-door 4.2l on 2040-cars
Miami, Florida, United States
Hello, for your consideration is my 1980 TOYOTA LAND CRUISER FJ43. This rare truck is in good condition. If your looking at this truck you obviously know the amazing history behind these unique vehicles. The truck came from a tropical climate in south America. It has no rust. The truck is a oem Green in color with a super rare tan soft top that looks great. Inside the truck has a unique tan heavy canvas material for the interior. It actually feels real nice and not sticky like the usual vinyl. The rear floor of the bed is just scratched and very solid. It has the original famous and super reliable inline 6 cylinder motor. To make this truck even more special the motor is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. That's right a 5-speed. You also get power steering. You should see this cruiser on the highway. All I can say it is amazing. It runs great. I have put oem sparkplug wires and oil filter. I ran new heavy gauge positive/negative wires and a brand new interstate battery. It has Hankook tires and has old school centerline wheels painted black. I just installed an ALPINE radio with SIRUS XM RADIO(not ready but actual xm radio) new owner pays subscription,BLUETOOTH, and PHONE CONNECTIONS. This thing is amazing and everywhere I drive it is non stop thumbs up and people honking. People take pictures and even Jeep people seem to love it. The price on these vehicles has gone through the roof. I was recently at Mecum Kissimmee florida where I saw two trucks in similar condition to mine and the went all the way to 62k and the they did not meet reserve. I found out later the reserve was actually 88k. My Cruiser has a clear florida title under my name. It my vehicle and not a dealer. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to email. or call my number at 305-302-0798. The cruiser is being sold locally. This cruiser is quickly going to find a new home. so GOOD LUCK!

Toyota's Texas move could boost state's economy by $7.2B in 10 years
Thu, 15 May 2014They say everything is bigger in Texas, and apparently that includes the Toyota's effect on the economy. The giant Japanese automaker's new headquarters in Plano, TX, will add an estimated $7.2 billion to the state over the next 10 years, according to a new study commissioned by the city and cited by Bloomberg.
The benefits appear to be an absolute steal compared to the direct incentives that Plano and the state are giving Toyota. The report finds that by the time the automaker's campus is complete in 2018, it could have 3,650 full-time workers there at an average salary of $104,000. The city has prepared $6.75 million in grants, plus property tax discounts, according to Bloomberg. In addition to that, the state is offering the business $40 million in incentives from its Texas Enterprise Fund. This is still a fraction of what Toyota is estimated to bring in.
Toyota announced in April that it would move its US operations to Plano after being headquartered in California since 1957. The move affects thousands of employees from the sales and engineering divisions. The first workers will arrive there this fall, but Toyota will eventually have a whole campus in Plano by late 2017. The move is expected to save it huge amounts in taxation and offer employees a lower cost of living. Toyota North America CEO Jim Lentz also says that the Texas location puts the headquarters closer to more of the business' factories in the south. Texas certainly appears to be showing it some southern hospitality.
Despite slow sales, no new Scion models in near-term pipeline [w/poll]
Mon, 09 Sep 2013According to a top Toyota executive, the Japanese automaker will not be introducing any fresh Scion models in the near future, Reuters reports. As of August, Scion sales for this year were down 1.6 percent from 2012 and accounted for only 0.3 percent of Toyota's overall US sales. And last month, Toyota Motor Sales USA Senior Vice President Bob Carter informed the 1,000 dealers who carry Scion that they can drop the brand without penalty.
However, never fear - Carter has assured that, while nothing new is coming for at least six months, the company is still very committed to the quirky Scion brand. Toyota launched Scion, which targets the youth market, in 2003, and sales peaked in 2006. The brand currently has five models, with the 2013 best-sellers being the FR-S sports coupe followed by the tC sedan and xB hatchback.
What do you think about Toyota's decision to hold off on introducing new or refreshed Scion models? Are they heading in the right direction, or does this spell doom for the funky Gen Y brand?
Scion FR-S Convertible (in Toyota GT86 form) spied in South Africa
Fri, 15 Feb 2013Though the eventual existence of a convertible version of the Toyota GT86 (and its Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ versions for America) is a no-brainer, we've yet to get a glimpse of the real-deal car until now.
Spotted in Cape Town, South Africa, of all places, this completely undisguised GT86 convertible seems to be in a remarkably advanced state of development. The image seen here was obviously sniped from quite a distance and without the aid of a powerful lens, but we can still make out a production-ready looking piece of rear bodywork for the convertible top to hide away in, as well as a functioning trunk lid. It's hard to make out with any certainty, based on this evidence, but there does seem to be space retained behind the front seats for two, small rear chairs.
With the first car spotted, we'd expect to seem some more and better images of it flow through in the near future, and if not, Toyota has already confirmed a concept version for next month's Geneva Motor Show, dubbed FT-86 Open, so stay tuned. For now, click through to the FT86Club.com forum to have a slightly closer look at the images.
