1980 Toyota Land Cruiser Bj41 Diesel *rhd* Fj40 Fj45 Bj42 Bj40 Fj60 Bj40 on 2040-cars
Richmond, California, United States
This is a S55 (1980) Land Cruiser BJ-41 right hand drive. It is in U.S and if you have been watching this for the last month, then now is the time to bid! Shipping can be coordinated from Richmond California. The Cruiser is in good condition. The body has a little surface rust but no holes or anything extreme. The undercarriage shows no extreme rust either. It was registered in Chiba, which is about 1 hour east of Tokyo, and was registered and driven until the last inspection expired last month. The driver seat was replaced with a bucket and the rears replaced with a bench. I do not have the originals. Engine runs smooth and everything is functioning from the turning signals to the A/C. There is a fuel leak where the fuel line meets the engine at about 1 drip per 20 seconds. It looked like a gasket where the line bolted in was bad, but I did not have the time to fix so I’m disclosing. It has 17,000km on the odometer; however it could not be verified because Japan does have the same car tracking as the U.S. However many vehicles in Japan have very low kilometers so it’s not far fetched, but since I can’t verify it I will leave it at that. This Cruiser is an easy project for someone who doesn't want to pay top dollar for a restored cruiser, wants something unique, and wants to drive. The intent of this auction is to SELL! Contact me for any questions and happy bidding! Cheers |

Toyota RAV4 EV lease gets cut in half to $299/month
Tue, 27 Aug 2013If you're in the market for a new electric vehicle, now is definitely the time to buy or lease. Following price drops on just about every other EV on the market, Toyota is looking to push a few more all-electric RAV4 crossovers out the door over the Labor Day weekend. The Detroit News is reporting that, through September 3, anyone looking to get into a RAV4 EV in Los Angeles or San Francisco, can get a deal: a $299 a month lease (no word on down payment, though) or zero-percent financing for 60 months for buyers.
The $49,800 RAV4 EV normally leases for twice as much - $599 a month - so this move could be an attempt to sell more of the 2,600 units Toyota has planned to produce. Or maybe, if you thought $599 was a fair price, you can now get two RAV4 Evs. Although temporary, the price drop comes at a time when many other EVs on the market have had their prices reduced, including the Nissan Leaf, Chevy Volt, Smart Fortwo ED and Honda Fit EV, not to mention already low prices for the Fiat 500e and Chevy Spark EV.

Expedition drives from Russia to Canada over North Pole...
Tue, 21 May 2013No, a Ford Expedition did not drive from Russia to Canada via the North Pole, but that's exactly what a team of intrepid explorers accomplished recently. Using specially-modified buses with massive tires, the group slowly drove 2,485 miles in 70 days over drifting ice, occasionally using a pickaxe to clear a path and staying on guard for chasms that could open up and plunge the team into the frigid arctic waters. Average speeds were about 6 mph, "at the speed of a (farm) tractor." While the big tires technically allowed the buses to float if the need arose, the team preferred to stay out of the water to keep the suspension from getting coated in thick, hard ice. Falling in on foot would mean almost certain death.
According to Phys.org, the buses were powered by Toyota diesel engines, but were built with prototype parts from a previous driving expedition to the North Pole. Right now, the machines are parked in a garage in Canada's Resolute Bay while the the team rests up with family back home. They plan to continue their trek to back across the Bering Straight to Russia. If successful, the team may eventually offer a version of their buses for commercial sale.
US-built Corollas will soon be exported to Latin America, Caribbean
Sun, 29 Sep 2013Toyota has announced plans to export the American-made Corolla south, to 18 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean by 2014. The move follows statements made to The Wall Street Journal by Toyota's South American leader, Steve St. Angelo, that spoke to Toyota's resolve in emerging American markets.
Toyota is expected to begin export production in April, with initial production of 7,500 Corollas in the first year, courtesy of its Tupelo, Mississippi assembly plant. Years of unpredictable swings in the value of the Japanese yen has seen Toyota push its manufacturing operations in other countries, particularly the US, where its builds ten different models.
