1980 Diesel Hj45/fj45/fj40 Toyota Land Cruiser Pick-up on 2040-cars
Miami, Florida, United States
This rare diesel Toyota Land Cruiser pick up is in amazingly, clean
condition. It has been well maintained and garage kept. There is
absolutely no rust or bondo/body filler on this truck. It's a really
good, solid running pick up. A nice bonus is that it has Power Steering
and Power brakes. I can have A/C and heat added for a reasonable cost.
This was the last year HJ45s were made before Toyota switched to the HJ47s. It has the powerful H diesel motor, able to do 80mph easily and still average 22mpg. The
engine has low miles, though not sure if there is a 1 not showing on
the odometer. You can tell it has low miles by how strong the engine is,
and how well it drives. A certified mechanic inspected the truck, and all tests passed perfectly. It
shifts cleanly, transmission, 4x4 shift, all perfect. Lights, wipers,
horn, original radio even works. It has the original overhead
compartment for the radio and speakers, a really nice feature not found
in all cruisers. The truck bed is made of solid, hardwood, that will never rot, These truck beds are built to last a lifetime. The pictures don't do justice to how nice this one is. I've posted a video on youtube to check out. Here is the link http://youtu.be/XgMFJMs5ltQ |

HQ move based on study, not pitch from Gov. Perry, Toyota says
Tue, 29 Apr 2014Toyota's surprising announcement on Monday that it will move its North American headquarters from Torrance, CA location to the Dallas suburb of Plano, TX is allegedly not due to any political wrangling from the state's Republican governor, Rick Perry.
Perry (above) has been up front in his aggressive pursuit of businesses and jobs for Texas, traveling to California, Missouri, Illinois and New York to tempt corporations to his state. And it's not just about the promise of much lower taxes, a Perry spokesman reminds Automotive News that the state boasts, "a workforce that is skilled and ready to do any job."
For his part, Jim Lentz, Toyota's North American CEO said Plano was chosen through an internal process, with the location helped by its proximity to the company's massive pickup factory in San Antonio rather than any campaigning from the governor.
2014 Toyota Corolla gets marginal IIHS small overlap crash test score [w/video]
Fri, 04 Oct 2013Toyota may have performed some major surgery on the 2014 Corolla, but that hasn't helped the Japanese automaker overcome tough new crash test procedures. The Corolla, Toyota's bread-and-butter compact sedan, managed only a Marginal score on the new small overlap crash test, which was just added last year.
Despite the low score, the Corolla performed well in the moderate overlap front, side, rollover and rear testing, which was enough to score it a 2013 Top Safety Pick. In testing in August, six of the Corolla's competitors earned the Top Safety Pick + award, for good or acceptable scores across the board.
According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, the Corolla's "Marginal" score was down to an "intruding structure," that could cause injuries to the lower left leg. There was also concern that in a collision, the driver's head would move after hitting the air bag, and collide with the A-pillar or dash.
Toyota's production fuel cell car to cost between $50-100k
Fri, 03 May 2013
While the cost of building a hydrogen fuel cell vehicle continues to go down over time, reports over the last few years have steadily maintained that the first Toyota hydrogen-powered vehicles for customers should ring up for around $50,000. Company officials cited this figure way back in 2010, and have reiterated it in subsequent years.
So, while a recent Automotive News report about the cost of Toyota's 2015 Hydrogen car doesn't offer up any new figures, it does offer an interesting pricing wrinkle. According to the report, the "cost factor" for the hydrogen vehicles will be in the $50k ballpark, meaning the retail price could be anywhere from there, up to as much as around $100,000.
