1978 Toyota Land Cruiser Bj40 Fj40 - Diesel Engine, Excellent Restoration!!!!!!! on 2040-cars
Kissimmee, Florida, United States
Description: You are looking at a beautiful 1978 Toyota Land Cruiser BJ40 Diesel that has been excellently restored to original quality. It is orange and has had a recent exterior paint job with newly upholstered interior. This BJ40 comes with the original three (3) person front seats and the larger rear two (2) person jump seats for a total passenger capacity of seven (7) people. This BJ40 comes with new tires and original style rims, and halogen headlamps. Installed on each bumper are the oem bumper rubber knobs and rear Toyota mud flaps. It comes with full size rear mounted spare tire with matching rim and an original roof rack and ladder that is extremely rare and very hard to find. This BJ40 has the upgraded 3B Series 3500cc Toyota 4 cylinder diesel Inline engine. The underbody is in excellent shape and the suspension has been maintained to original standard and it stable and true at any cruising speed. There is no rust on this vehicle and all panels have been upgraded with higher gage metal using the original Toyota factory molds which are still in use in CR! This BJ40 is originally from Costa Rica and was restored in Costa Rica where FJ/HJ45s and FJ/BJ40s are common and plentiful, although not in this excellent condition. It currently sits at my home in Costa Rica and will be headed to Miami, via shipping container, shortly after the end of the auction to be completely processed and imported pursuant to EPA and DOT regulations (exempt due to 25+ years old). The BJ40 will be registered in Florida and the winning bidder will receive a clean Florida title when the transaction is completed. I travel on an average of once a month to Costa Rica to scout for restoration candidates and have them either restored to original condition (20 footers), or have the 40s/45s restored (frame-off) to better than original condition and in showroom quality when the right candidate is found (perfect at any distance). This BJ40 is in excellent shape and a real head turner! This is not the FJ40 (gasoline) but rather the BJ40 (diesel) and is very rare in the US in any condition and very hard to find in this condition! Bid with confidence! We have 100% feedback and you will not be disappointed. This BJ40 represents and excellent investment and value at the offering price given its condition and installed upgrades! Since eBay will only let me place a maximum of 24 pictures on the listing, I have included a link below to our Flickr account where you can see even more high-resolution pictures of this awesome BJ40. I have other FJ/BJ/HJ 40/45 trucks for sale that you can also see, which are in very nice, original, and/or frame-off restoration quality. I also have an impeccable FJ40 that has also undergone a complete frame-off restoration with every bolt and component removed, and that one is priced in the high 40s and worth every penny and is by far the nicest FJ40 anywhere and also in true collector's museum quality condition. http://www.flickr.com/vintagecruisers/sets Just one look at the high resolution pictures of this BJ40 and you will see the high standard by which this BJ40 has been maintained! If this one, or any of the other ones I currently have for sale are not to your liking, I can have one custom made for you to any level of quality and budget you desire. 2014 Toyota Corolla and Tundra production underway
Fri, 02 Aug 2013After months of leaked photos and speculative reports, Toyota finally unveiled its 2014 Corolla to the world in early July at a star-studded California party. The confetti has been swept up and the champagne flutes washed and stored, and now the real work can begin: production. Toyota has announced that its new C-segment player has begun rolling off the lines at its plants in Mississippi and Ontario, Canada this week ahead of the planned start of sales in September. What's more, the refreshed 2014 Tundra pickup has also segued into production in San Antonio, Texas.
Corolla production in Mississippi is still a relatively recent phenomenon, with the plant having begun assembly of the outgoing model in the fourth quarter of 2011, while Toyota's Cambridge, Ontario plant has been churning out the compact volume king since 1988. Conversely, the Tundra has been in production at the Texas facility since 2006, and Toyota projects that the plant will build its milestone one-millionth new vehicle in September, right around the time the reworked fullsize pickup goes on sale.
Lightweight Toyota GT86 spotted on Nordschleife with carbon panels, upgraded aero
Tue, 24 Jun 2014We've seen (and frankly reported on) so many rumors of more powerful and performance-focused versions of the Subaru BRZ, Toyota GT86 and Scion FR-S at this point that haven't materialized that, at this point, we're almost tired of them. Almost. But what we have here was enough to pique our jaded interests as only a carbon-bodied sports car on the Nürburgring could do.
What we're looking at is, well, we don't quite know, to tell you the truth. What we can tell is that it's a Toyota GT86 (Scion FR-S for us) wearing new wheels and a carbon-fiber hood, roof, racing-spec rear wing and subtle lip spoiler. The vents in the hood indicate that the prototype in question could be packing an upgraded engine to go with the lighter body panels and upgraded aero, and the interior (at least as far as we can see) looks pretty well stripped out.
The right-hand drive configuration tells us this is either destined for former territories of the British Empire or for the racetrack. Considering the ride height, full glass and apparent lack of roll cage, our money's on this prototype is being developed for the Japanese Domestic Market, where Toyota badges the sports car simply as the 86. We can always hope, though, that some version makes it into Scion showrooms in North America... we just won't get our hopes up too high.
2013 Toyota RAV4
Tue, 16 Apr 2013A Nicer View Than Ever Of Middle Of The Road
When we had our first shot behind the wheel of the 2013 Toyota RAV4, the overall judgment from Managing Editor Jeremy Korzeniewski could be summed up in a sentence along the lines of, "Eh, not bad." The truth is that the compact crossover segment, now filled with not-so-compact offerings, is as cutthroat as any in the industry these days. When a heavyweight player like the RAV4 comes to market with a new generation, it is not at liberty to start from a clean sheet, lest it throw cold water on a vehicle that sells tens of thousands of units globally every month. Like De La Soul says, "Stakes is high."
If the choices in the marketplace were still largely limited to the Honda CR-V, as was the case when this market niche was green, the Toyota offering might actually seem like the exciting choice. But with new players offering better dynamic thrills (Mazda CX-5), cool turbo motors and fancy technology (Ford Escape), or even crunchy cred (Subaru Forester), the small crossover shopper is really spoiled for choice in 2013.
