1976 TOYOTA LANDCRUISER
"IRON PIG" FJ-55
A/C-POWER STEERING

This is the rarest of Landcruisers imported to the United States. I have owned many over the years, but this is the Holy Grail of Cruisers.  An original Arizona rust free truck that shows and runs excellent.  I have well over $45,000.00 in receipts.  Vintage Air Conditioning and Toyota mini-truck power steering have already been installed.

Options Include:

- 2F motor with Man-a-Fre power pack
- Weber Carb
- Hei Distributor
- Header
- Vintage Air A/C kit
- Power Steering
- Old Man Emu suspension (complete)
- 33" BFG Mud terrains
- Auto Meter gauges (all working)
- Tuffy security console
- Kenwood CD with usb port
- New NOS tail lights
- Aluminum Radiator (never runs hot)
- Custom aluminum fuel tank
- Dual Battery system
- Disc Brake parking brake
- Front power disc brakes

I am sure there is more that I am missing.

This truck has no expense spared, I am not kidding when I say it
is the nicest one I have personally owned.  I drive it regularly on nice days.

There is nothing to hide on this truck, so feel free to call me with any questions!
Thanks for looking

US-built Corollas will soon be exported to Latin America, Caribbean

Sun, 29 Sep 2013

Toyota has announced plans to export the American-made Corolla south, to 18 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean by 2014. The move follows statements made to The Wall Street Journal by Toyota's South American leader, Steve St. Angelo, that spoke to Toyota's resolve in emerging American markets.
Toyota is expected to begin export production in April, with initial production of 7,500 Corollas in the first year, courtesy of its Tupelo, Mississippi assembly plant. Years of unpredictable swings in the value of the Japanese yen has seen Toyota push its manufacturing operations in other countries, particularly the US, where its builds ten different models.

Foreign automakers pay from $38 to $65 per hour to non-union workers

Sun, Mar 29 2015

As leaders for the United Auto Workers gather in Detroit for their Special Convention on Collective Bargaining to work out the negotiating stance for this year's new labor agreements with the Detroit 3 automakers, what they most want to do is figure out how to eliminate the two-tier wage scale. However, the lower Tier 2 wage has allowed the domestic automakers to reduce their labor costs, hire more workers, and compete better with their import competition. As it stands, per-hour labor rates including benefits are $58 at General Motors, $57 at Ford, and $48 at Fiat-Chrysler – a reflection of FCA's much greater number of Tier 2 workers. The Center for Automotive Research released a study of labor rates (including benefits) that put numbers to what the imports pay: Mercedes-Benz pays the most, at an average of $65 per hour, Volkswagen pays the least, at $38 per hour, and BMW is just a hair above that at $39 per hour. Among the Detroit competitors, Honda workers earn an average of $49 per hour, at Toyota it's $48 per hour, Nissan is $42 per hour, and Hyundai-Kia pays $41 per hour. The lower import wages are aided by their greater use of temporary workers compared to the domestics. Automotive News says the ten-dollar gap between those foreign camakers and the domestics turns out to about an extra $250 per car in labor, which adds up quickly when you're pumping out many millions of cars. That $250-per-car number is one that, come negotiating time, the Detroit 3 will want to reduce, as the UAW is trying to raise both Tier 1 and Tier 2 wages. Another wrinkle is that the domestic carmakers are considering the wide adoption of a third wage level lower than Tier 2. Some workers who do minor tasks like assembling parts trays kits and battery packs already make less than Tier 2, but the UAW will be quite wary about cementing yet another wage scale at the bottom of the system while it's trying to fight a bigger battle at the top. They then discuss the Lexus RX350 and why it's likely an ideal premium crossover for a large percentage of buyers. From there, Greg and Jeremy cover some recent news items, including the current state of BMW's coupes and rumors that Toyota's next Land Cruiser will lose its V8 engine in favor of a turbocharged V6. Then it's time to go over some of our current favorite spring beers before turning to the mailbag and spending some listener's money.
