1976 Toyota Land Cruiser Fj40 Stunning Rotisserie Restoration on 2040-cars
Topeka, Kansas, United States
1976 TOYOTA LAND CRUISER FJ40 67K DOCUMENTED ORIGINAL MILES COMPLETE RESTORATION TO FACTORY SPECS AND ALL OEM PARTS USED. These FJ's are really popular right now and this one is top notch. This was professionally done by a very reputable restoration shop. The last 3 FJ's that went through RM, and Barrett Jackson have done 90-103k. This has that much money in it and it is amazing. Thanks for looking. 785-633-9336 I've had several questions about the FJ. It's been driven less then 200 miles since the complete restoration. I do have a booklet that documents the whole process. This includes pictures of the FJ before it was started. As far as I can see, there was no expense spared. I have installed the factory hub cap on the spare tire. Also, this is a documented 2 owner car from Arizona. I have all the original paperwork including an older title. This FJ is better then new, every nut and bolt was replaced, or blasted and painted. It is truly remarkable and I'm impressed with the restoration shop's work. Thanks |

Question of the Day: Ever consider driving a minivan?
Thu, May 12 2016Since I'm supposed to know something about cars, it happens all the time: friends and relatives ask me advice about what kind of vehicle they should get. Very often, the only type of vehicle that can check every item on their wish list (e.g., hauls lots of people and stuff, gets good fuel economy, has great crash-test ratings, can take four Great Danes camping, and so on) is a modern minivan... and, of course, nobody wants to hear this. I'm not a minivan person, they will wail, and so they end up with a cramped, fuel-swilling SUV or a not-so-space-efficient minivan-in-disguise CUV. So, is it worth becoming one of those minivan people in order to get the incredible usefulness of these masterpieces of vehicle engineering, or do you hold your head high and drive something that doesn't quite meet your needs? eBay Find of the Day: Back To The Future Marty McFly 1985 Toyota SR5 pickup tribute
Mon, 05 Aug 2013With DeLorean time machine replicas thick on the ground, it was only a matter of time before someone started recreating the other vehicles in the McFly garage. At the end of the first Back to the Future movie, Marty returns to 1985 to find his sweet-looking Toyota SR5 truck all waxed and ready for his date. That truck always did look great in the movie, and now's your chance to own this close facsimile.
This Back to the Future replica Toyota is on eBay with a price of $14,500, which the seller claims is half of what's been invested. Perhaps that's true, but it's still a nearly 30-year-old truck that's covered 280,000 miles. The seller does say the 22RE engine has been recently rebuilt, along with the rest of the drivetrain, and there's new paint, too. The attention to detail is admirable, and if you've always admired Marty's '80s-chic 4x4, now's your chance to own it.
Mazda ad showing Facebook updates while driving criticized by Senate committee [w/video]
Sat, 08 Feb 2014Senate Commerce Committee Chairman Jay Rockefeller, D-WV, held an all-day summit on Thursday to discuss the dangers of using modern technology while driving, during which an ad that Mazda aired during the Super Bowl was used as an example of the worrisome future towards which we're headed. While seemingly innocuous at first glance, the ad, which can be seen below, shows a brief glimpse of a driver using the Mazda Connect infotainment system in a Mazda3 to check/update his Facebook page while driving down the road.
Officials from major communications companies like Samsung, Google and Apple attended the summit, as well as representatives from automakers including General Motors and Toyota. A representative from Mazda was not present despite the company's own currently available technology being used as the poster child for the issues being discussed.
According to Automotive News, Senator Rockefeller warned the automaker and communication execs on hand that he will propose legislation to regulate the use of technology while driving if they don't work together to implement their own standards more quickly. Michael Robinson, GM's vice president of sustainability and global regulatory affairs, argued that his company has had distracted driving guidelines in place for 15 years since the advent of its OnStar system, noting that the technology in question has also helped the automaker save lives through automatic crash detection and calls to 911.
