Hey FJ40 fans! Up for sale is my 1976 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 with a Chevy 327 V-8 / Power Steering upgrade!
It's stunning. I get compliments on the quality and look for this FJ on a daily basis. It really is nice. In summary, I've gone through this FJ and replaced every item I could think of to get it in tip-top condition - inside and out.
If you look around and compare this product to others out there, you'll find that I go to great lengths to make sure this is quality. For example, this FJ was completely disassembled and sand blasted. After blasting, etching, filler, primer, sealer and then painted in pieces before reassembly.
If you look at the pictures you'll see that most of the parts on the vehicle are new from either Cool Cruisers or SOR. Too many new parts to list.
Some of the main items to note are:
- Brand new Rough Country springs, shocks, zinc plated shackles, and poly bushings.
- Brand new professional upholstery on the front seats. SOR jump seat covers.
- SOR headliner & dash.
- New front fenders from Cool Cruisers.
- Brand new front and rear signals.
- Rhino lining in the rear bed to the front floorboards - flawless. (Lower tub only).
- Saginaw power steering.
- Brand new American Racing rims with 35x12.50 x 15 tires (roughly 80% tread life remaining).
- Plugs, wires, electronic ignition (Mallory distributor), and new timing... Starts and runs like a swiss watch.
- Brand new exhaust system (two mufflers and all new pipe).
- New Cool Cruisers weatherstripping on all four doors.
- New main seal, and service on the engine, transmission and t-case. (Stock Toyota 4-speed Tranny & T-Case.)
- All new emblems from Cool Cruisers.
- Many other new parts not worthy of listing. Please refer to pics.

Honda scores big in Automobile Advertising of the Year Awards [w/videos]
Wed, 15 Jan 2014This year the Detroit Auto Show didn't just celebrate the automobile, it celebrated how we find out about the automobile, too. Partnering The One Club, this year introduced the 2014 One Show Automobile Advertising of the Year Award to Cobo Hall, celebrating winners in five different categories of advertising: broadcast television, online, interactive, experiential, and print/outdoor. Winners in those categories were judged by 50 creative directors and journalists, while a Public Choice category was chosen from among nearly 20,000 online votes.
Honda walked off with three of the six awards, its Hands spot taking Broadcast honors, its Sound of Honda getting the Online category and Illusions winning Public Choice. Hyundai made the grade in Interactive with Driveway Decision Maker, Fiat captured Print/Outdoor with its "Letters" ad, and Toyota's Tundra Endeavor Campaign spot and BMW's A Window into the Near Future were co-winners for Experiential.

At last year's show, hydrogen fuel cell concepts from Honda and Toyota joined a lease-ready Hyundai Tucson FCEV to cast a green hue over the convention center. This year, automakers took us a step closer to a fuel cell future by offering drives of their hydrogen-electric hybrids. Translogic host Jonathon Buckley takes a ride in the Toyota Mirai, which is headed for production in 2016. Spongebob Squarepants Toyota Highlander gets Tanked in Vegas
Thu, 07 Nov 2013In 2006, I bought a Scion xB (the super upright, first-generation one), and I always had this wild dream of turning the xBox into an aquarium after it had run its course in my personal test fleet. Long story short, that never happened. But apparently the folks at Toyota got wind of my idea - only, well, this isn't exactly what I had in mind.
Let's just start at the beginning here. This is a 2014 Toyota Highlander - you know, the redesigned one that bowed in New York earlier this year. I haven't driven it yet, but I'm sure it's plenty nice and will appeal to all sorts of families. Families with kids. Kids who like cartoons. Cartoons like Spongebob Squarepants.
Which brings me to our next talking point: the collaboration between Toyota and Nickelodeon for the Spongebob-themed wrap that covers every inch of this Highlander. This isn't the first time we've seen the yellow cartoon sponge on a Highlander - Toyota unveiled a differently wrapped version earlier this year - but this one features more of an aquatic, under-the-sea sort of theme. Perfect, considering the main point of this crossover's reason for being at SEMA.
