1971 FJ Cruiser

Great looking, fun to drive recently restored and upgraded FJ Cruiser.  Recently upgraded with a Chevy 350 V8 engine for great power and reliability.

Exterior is in good overall shape with recent restoration.  The body is very straight and has only a few minor blemishes.  It looks straight and clean all the way around.  All the glass is in good shape as are the removable hardtop and doors.  Removable hardtop requires some repairs including a new interior liner. Hardtop has been in storage since 6/2010 as I have only driven the FJ without the top or with the canvas bikini top that I recently purchased.

Interior is very original and well kept with recent professional restoration.  The upholstery is recently new and in great condition.

Mechanically this FJ is ready to be driven anywhere.  Recently upgraded to a Chevy 350 V8 engine that shows great power and reliability.  Original transmission and transfer case may need some attention. Suspension is in great shape. Brakes are original and need some maintenance.  Don't miss this opportunity to purchase one of the best looking 4X4 vehicles on the market.

This vehicle is listed for sale locally and we reserve the right to cancel the auction early for the right offer.
Please call (860)655-6089 or email us with any questions.

Please read the description and view all the pictures prior to bidding.  We strongly suggest that buyers personally inspect or hire a third party to inspect the vehicle.  I have accurately described the condition of this classic FJ40 but it is sold as-is.  This is a legally binding contract and the last bidder will be the owner of this classic vehicle.

Toyota says you might have the 40-millionth Corolla ever built

Sat, 07 Sep 2013

The guy who bought the 50-millionth Toyota in the US got a free Camry and RAV4, but whoever in the world bought the 40-millionth Corolla in August gets a hearty "thank you" from the Japanese automaker. On sale since 1966, the Corolla is the best-selling nameplate in the world by a goodly margin (more than the Volkswagen Beetle and Ford Model T combined). So while you'd think that vehicle number 40 million would be sitting in a museum somewhere, Toyota can't even say in which country this milestone Corolla was sold, let alone to which customer.
One reason that Toyota is unsure where this Corolla was sold is the fact that the Corolla name itself is more than just the compact sedan sold in the US. On our shores alone, sales of the Matrix are lumped in with the Corolla, but around the world, numerous vehicles wear the Corolla name or share its platform. Scroll down for Toyota's press release, and it has also put together a website celebrating 47 years and 40 million sales for the Corolla... and counting.

Toyota announces two recalls affecting 1M Corolla, Matrix and Lexus IS models

Wed, 30 Jan 2013

The recall bug strikes Toyota again. The automaker has issued a voluntary recall of three models that, in total, represent more than one million units. Around 752,000 2003-2004 Toyota Corolla and Matrix models are being recalled for airbag concerns, while a windshield wiper issue is causing the recall for close to 270,000 Lexus IS sedans from the 2006-2012 model years.
Completely unrelated to the small airbag-related recall issued earlier in the week, the Corolla and Matrix recall is caused by a faulty airbag control module that could potentially short circuit, which could lead to the front airbags or seat belt pretensioners deploying. The Lexus recall is due to a wiper arm nut that wasn't tightened properly, which can cause the wipers to not work when trying to clear heavy buildup such as snow.
Scroll down for a press release that includes more information, as well as details about how owners can contact the manufacturer directly.

Toyota GT86 CS-R3 rally car presages for-sale customer racecar

Thu, 31 Jul 2014

Rallying may enjoy a very strong association with all-wheel drive, but it wasn't so long ago that the World Rally Championship was populated by cars that slipped and slid across gravel and tarmac using rear-wheel drive. One of those was the Toyota Celica. While the little Celica eventually joined the gravel-spewing masses with an all-wheel-drive rally car, Toyota is returning to its rear-drive rally roots with a modified version of the critically acclaimed GT86.
Called the CS-R3, the new model boasts all the necessary changes to turn the diminutive twin of the Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ into a car capable of tackling the tough, twisting paths that are so routinely conquered by the world's rally cars. That means, of course, the CS-R3 has gotten a power bump.
Expected output sits between 240 and 250 horsepower, thanks to a new racing exhaust and manifold, as well as other changes. The ECU has been replaced with an item a bit more suited to racing, while the compression ratio has also been adjusted to boost the output.
