What we have here is a great 1968 Toyota FJ40.
It is a daily driver
It has everything you could ever want on one.
All that it needs is prep and paint. And mats.

4 wheel power disc brakes.

Full Saginaw power steering including new column and
tilt wheel.

New radiator and heaters. New heater core and blower. New shcool
bus heater in the rear.

Air conditioning from Vintage Air. You can look them
up online. They make custom installations for these FJs. It fits under the
dash like a factory unit. All installed except for the compressor. Everything you
need is there. Just needs installed. The hard stuff is in already.

The clutch, master cylinder, and slave cylinder are less than 2000 miles old.
I have extra parts as well. Boxes. There are 2 extra clutches and pressure plates.

The seats are very nice. They are out of a 2002 Ford Focus.  Very comfortable.
They are leather and the driver seat is electric and fully functional. The rear
jump seats are original and in very good condition.

Other than surface rust where paint has come off, this is a RUST FREE vehicle. Any rust
it had was properly cut out and new metal welded in place. A very nice job. The interior
Is fully Rhino lined. It still needs mats or carpet.

Glass is all very good.
Doors have good weather stripping.

Tires have great tread. Has hubcaps even on the spare.
Shocks are new. It has a 2.5 inch lift on Old Man Emu springs.

Also included is a big Warn winch. It mounts on the front bumper.
It has controls that mount in the cab so you can operate it from inside the rig.

Engine starts right up and runs great. Trans is a three speed on the
floor. Shifts smooth. Never pops out of gear. Tranny and transfer case both feel
great. 4x4 works nice. I'm not a serious off roader but I've used it in the snow.

Lights and turn signals work properly. Lots of interior lighting wired in.
Nice easy to see turn signal display lights on the dash.
Also comes with a tow bar.

This is a great rig. With paint and mats it should be worth 20k
All the hard stuff is done. And if you are looking for a fun family
rig or maybe something for hunting or fishing you won't find a
better built one for the price.
I'm sure I've forgotten a few things so please ask questions.
You'll need to jog my memory.

Our life has changed and we just can't have all these toys anymore.

Buyer is responsible for shipping.
I will help with loading or whatever.
I have a safe place to keep it til it's picked up.
If you choose to but it, I expect quick payment.
I prefer wire transfer.
Sold as is.
Thanks for looking.

Suzuki and Daihatsu join Toyota electric vehicle venture

Wed, Jul 21 2021

TOKYO — Suzuki Motor Corp and Daihatsu are joining a commercial electric vehicle coalition led by Toyota Motor Corp, the carmakers announced on Wednesday, helping the Japanese alliance expand its focus from trucks to smaller cars. The two automakers will each acquire a 10% stake in the joint venture, on par with Isuzu Motors and Hino Motors, while Toyota will hold a 60% stake, they said. "With Suzuki and Daihatsu joining the project and working together, we'll be able to expand our circle of cooperation to not only cover commercial vehicles but also mini vehicles," said Toyota President Akio Toyoda. "With this expansion, I believe that we'll be able to take one step closer to a better mobility society," Toyoda said. The move comes as Japanese automakers face growing competition from tech giants and other rivals making electric and driverless cars. Toyota, Isuzu and Hino launched the Commercial Japan Partnership Technologies Corporation in April to bolster their competitive edge in connected, commercial vehicles. Daihatsu's president Soichiro Okudaira said joining the pact and introducing connected, mini-commercial vehicles would allow data sharing, a major benefit for companies to provide better services to customers and improve logistics efficiency. Autoblog's Editors' Picks: Our complete list of the best new vehicles

Mon, May 13 2024

It's not easy to earn an “EditorsÂ’ Picks” at Autoblog as part of the rating and review process that every new vehicle goes through. Our editors have been at it a long time, which means weÂ’ve driven and reviewed virtually every new car you can go buy on the dealer lot. There are disagreements, of course, and all vehicles have their strengths and weaknesses, but this list features what we think are the best new vehicles chosen by Autoblog editors. We started this formal review process back in 2018, so there's quite of few of them now. So what does it mean to be an EditorsÂ’ Pick? In short, it means itÂ’s a car that we can highly recommend purchasing. There may be one, multiple, or even zero vehicles in any given segment that we give the green light to. What really matters is that itÂ’s a vehicle that weÂ’d tell a friend or family member to go buy if theyÂ’re considering it, because itÂ’s a very good car. The best way to use this list is is with the navigation links below. Click on a segment, and you'll quickly arrive at the top rated pickup truck or SUV, for example. Use the back button to return to these links and search in another segment, like sedans. If youÂ’ve been keeping up with our monthly series of the latest vehicles to earn EditorsÂ’ Pick status, youÂ’re likely going to be familiar with this list already. If not, welcome to the complete list that weÂ’ll be keeping updated as vehicles enter (and others perhaps exit) the good graces of our editorial team. We rate a new car — giving it a numerical score out of 10 — every time thereÂ’s a significant refresh or if it happens to be an all-new model. Any given vehicle may be impressive on a first drive, but we wait until itÂ’s in the hands of our editors to put it through the same type of testing as every other vehicle that rolls through our test fleet before giving it the EditorsÂ’ Pick badge. This ensures consistency and allows more voices to be heard on each individual model. And just so you donÂ’t think weÂ’ve skipped trims or variants of a model, we hand out the EditorsÂ’ Pick based on the overarching model to keep things consistent. So, when you read that the 3 Series is an EditorsÂ’ Pick, yes, that includes the 330i to the M3 and all the variants in between. If thereÂ’s a particular version of that car we vehemently disagree with, we make sure to call that out.

U.S. and Toyota Reach Settlement Over Safety Problems Disclosure

Wed, Mar 19 2014

The U.S. has reached a $1.2 billion settlement with Toyota Motor Corp., concluding a four-year criminal investigation into the Japanese automaker's disclosure of safety problems, according to a person close to the investigation. Attorney General Eric Holder, Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx and U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, Preet Bharara, were announcing the settlement Wednesday morning, said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the official was not authorized to discuss the settlement on the record before the announcement. TOP 5Most Researched Green Cars On AOL Autos 2013 Honda Fit EV MSRP : $36,625 2014 Chevrolet Spark EV MSRP : $26,685 2012 Mitsubishi i-MiEV MSRP : $29,125 2012 Ford Focus Electric MSRP : $39,200 2012 Toyota Prius Plug-in MSRP : $32,000 In a statement early Wednesday, Toyota said it has "cooperated with the U.S. Attorney's office in this matter for more than four years" and had "made fundamental changes to become a more responsive and customer-focused organization, and we are committed to continued improvements." The criminal investigation focused on whether Toyota was forthright in reporting problems related to unintended acceleration troubles. Starting in 2009, Toyota issued massive recalls, mostly in the U.S., totaling more than 10 million vehicles for various problems including faulty brakes, gas pedals and floor mats. From 2010 through 2012, Toyota Motor Corp. paid fines totaling more than $66 million for delays in reporting unintended acceleration problems. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration never found defects in electronics or software in Toyota cars, which had been targeted as a possible cause. The settlement continues a string of bad publicity for Toyota, which before the unintended acceleration cases had a bulletproof image of reliability. Since the cases surfaced, the company's brand image has been damaged and it has lost U.S. market share as competition has intensified. Last year, Toyota agreed to pay more than $1 billion to resolve hundreds of lawsuits claiming that owners of its cars suffered economic losses because of the recalls. But that settlement did not include wrongful death and injury lawsuits that have been consolidated in California state and federal courts. In December, Toyota filed court papers after a four-year legal battle saying that it's in settlement talks on nearly 400 U.S. lawsuits, but other cases aren't included in the talks.
