This is a very tight (no squeeks, rattles) ride. It is very fast for this type of rig and I would not hesitate to drive across the country anywhere. Here are the details-Has zero rust and is a bright yellow. It does have a few chip marks and there is some cracking in the middle of hood and some extra holes in firewall ?. These marks are not noticeable from 10 feet away. The cage is custom and includes the seat mount area. The gauges are autometer brand and all are working properly. Tires are 35-12.50-15 and are new with a new spare and wheels are custom except a non-matching spare wheel. Engine is a custom built 350 chevy with all the chrome goodies. Carburator is a holley truck avenger. Has headers with a nice (lopy)  sounding duel exhaust system. Has a Turbo 350 automatic with HP kit and a 2500 stall converter. Transfercase is a Dana 300 with twin sticks. Rear axle is a Ford 9 inch disc brake with 4.11 gears and Detroit locker and Moser axles. Front axle is stock with new axleshafts and burfields all new bearings with 4.11 gears and truloc locker and 1985 Toyota outers with disc brakes. All new bushings throughout body and springs. 130,000 Toyota Tundra pickups recalled over airbag issue

Fri, 12 Sep 2014

Toyota is announcing a recall for about 130,000 examples of the 2014 Tundra Tundra pickup in Crew-Max Cab and Double Cab configurations.
According to the company, the "garnish on the center pillars" inside the trucks might not have been installed correctly. If the vehicle were in an accident, the side curtain airbags could deploy in the wrong shape. Toyota says that it's not aware of any crashes, injuries or fatalities related to this potential problem.
To fix the issue, the pickups will have their interior center pillars inspected, and if faulty, the pieces will be replaced. Obviously, this will be done at no cost to owners. Scroll down to read the full announcement.

Mazda ad showing Facebook updates while driving criticized by Senate committee [w/video]

Sat, 08 Feb 2014

Senate Commerce Committee Chairman Jay Rockefeller, D-WV, held an all-day summit on Thursday to discuss the dangers of using modern technology while driving, during which an ad that Mazda aired during the Super Bowl was used as an example of the worrisome future towards which we're headed. While seemingly innocuous at first glance, the ad, which can be seen below, shows a brief glimpse of a driver using the Mazda Connect infotainment system in a Mazda3 to check/update his Facebook page while driving down the road.
Officials from major communications companies like Samsung, Google and Apple attended the summit, as well as representatives from automakers including General Motors and Toyota. A representative from Mazda was not present despite the company's own currently available technology being used as the poster child for the issues being discussed.
According to Automotive News, Senator Rockefeller warned the automaker and communication execs on hand that he will propose legislation to regulate the use of technology while driving if they don't work together to implement their own standards more quickly. Michael Robinson, GM's vice president of sustainability and global regulatory affairs, argued that his company has had distracted driving guidelines in place for 15 years since the advent of its OnStar system, noting that the technology in question has also helped the automaker save lives through automatic crash detection and calls to 911.

Toyota, Honda, Nissan and more collaborating to increase fuel efficiency

Sun, 25 May 2014

Toyota, Honda, Mazda, Nissan, Subaru, Mitsubishi, Suzuki and Daihatsu have announced an alliance that will see a push to improve fuel economy from both gas-powered and diesel-powered engines by as much as 30 percent before the end of the decade.
The newly assembled Research Association of Automotive Internal Combustion Engines put the roughly $20-million project together, with the Japanese government committing to half the cost while the eight manufacturers will chip in the rest.
According to Automotive News, the automakers will team up and share basic research on internal-combustion engines in a bid to cut costs. Eventually, the results of the research will find its way into a production vehicle, although it's unclear just when we'll see the fruits of this partnership on the road.
