1964 Fj45lv Toyota Landcruiser Diesel on 2040-cars
Ventura, California, United States
The mechanics of the car are awesome. It starts up first try every time. The previous owner was a savvy mechanically oriented guy experienced in these cars. He did a lot of upgrades mostly mechanical. I had initially wanted to totally restore the car, but after I bought it realized it was perfect just the way it is. The car gets crazy attention and drives solid. Not perfect but runs and drives amazing. You could do a complete repaint and the cosmetic fixes and from what have described above, you have a very desirable classic. Either way these are going up in value. I have seen totally restored command serious price points. Please do your homework and a pre bid inspection. I have done my best to describe the car. I am not a mechanic. This is not a fire sale. The vehicle is being sold in "as is" condition with no representation or warranties expressed or implied. Buyer has made best efforts to describe the vehicle and its condition and that there are some things needing attention, however it is up to the buyer to arrange a pre-bidding inspection prior to bidding. I only encourage this because everyone has their own ideas of things and I don't want anyone trying to make a fuss because they didn't understand something. I am honest seller with great feedback and a long time member of EBay. If you have questions you can email me and I will try to answer. If you want to set up a pre bid inspection email me how to get a hold of you so we can arrange it. I have the vehicle advertised locally so at any given time I reserve the right to end the auction. If I don't get what I am looking for, it will get me the justification with the wife to keep it. Again, this is a rare opportunity to find one of these so mechanically sound with a legally registered diesel in California. Yes it is registered as a diesel in California and due to the age of the vehicle seller is not required to provide smog. If you re reading this, you know the rare breed/model that I have listed. The Toyota FJ45LV is the Holy Grail of Landcruisers. Why am I selling after wanting one forever? Priorities have changed and the wife want to remodel. the home. I have owned many Landcruisers from FJ40's, FJ60's, FJ80's and this trumps anyone of them. I know I am going to regret selling it, so please don't try to email me with low ball offers. as they will only be deleted. Thank you and good luck. On Feb-24-14 at 08:16:33 PST, seller added the following information: Also, a lot of folks are unaware you can obtain financing on classic cars. I have used JJBest 1(800) USA-1965 or 1 (855) 344 7104 at www.jjbest.com and they can usually do a loan with just 10% down. |

How many Toyotas are potentially affected by seat fabric problem?
Fri, 31 Jan 2014When we reported yesterday on Toyota's stop-sale order of certain 2013 and 2014 models due to an issue with the fabrics on models with heated seats not conforming to flammability regulations, one of our many questions was how many vehicles were affected? More importantly, how many of those cars have already found homes?
Kelley Blue Book has the troubling statistics. Every 2013 and 2014 Avalon features heated seats. 6.2-percent of 2013 and 4.5-percent of 2014 Camry sedans, meanwhile, were sold with heated seats. That doesn't seem as bad as 100-percent of the larger Avalon, until you consider the Camry's huge volume - the 5.6-percent average still accounts for a lot of cars. Sienna minivans are heavily affected as well, with a total of 37-percent of 2013s and 46-percent of 2014s fitted with butt warmers. The stop-sale only affects 7-percent of 2014 Corolla models, but like the Camry, that number is rather misleading due to the sheer volume of cars Toyota moves. You can see the entire breakdown of percentages by clicking on the inset image.
According to Karl Brauer, a senior analyst for KBB, this problem comes at the worst possible time. "Given that much of the US is currently in the grips of a record cold snap, there's sure to be high demand for models with seat heaters," Brauer notes. The stop-sale order is a good first step, but it doesn't do anything to inform consumers who currently own the affected models and may, in these frosty temperatures, want to use their seat heaters. "Should owners of those vehicles stop using the seat heaters?" Brauer asked.
10 automakers shack up in Detroit hotel to talk Takata airbags
Sun, Dec 14 2014Since Takata has decided not to take the lead concerning potential issues with its airbag inflators, the automakers have. Perhaps that's unsurprising, since it's the automakers, not Takata, that will take a beating on the dealership floor if consumers decide its models are a health hazards. The Detroit News reports that Toyota, Honda, General Motors, Ford, Chrysler, Mazda, BMW, Nissan, Mitsubishi and Subaru met in a hotel conference room near the Detroit Metropolitan Airport last week to sort out a way to understand the technical issues involved. So far, faulty airbag inflators have been ruled the cause of five deaths and 50 injuries around the world, but neither Takata nor investigators understands exactly why the inflators are malfunctioning. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recently asked Takata to issue a national recall, Takata declined, citing a minuscule failure rate and the fact that it's still investigating the issue. Toyota and Honda then made an industry-wide appeal for "a coordinated, comprehensive testing program" that would pinpoint the problem inflators and get them replaced, and that's what the Detroit meeting was about. Numerous issues, however, will make this a long row to hoe: simply getting the parts to replace the nearly 20 million inflators in cars recalled around the world so far - even working with other suppliers - will take a years, but more importantly, no one knows if the replacement inflators currently being installed will suffer the same issue. Answers will hopefully come quickly with Takata, the ten automakers and NHTSA all independently investigating the problem.
Dubai claims debut of Toyota GT86 sedan concept
Sun, 03 Nov 2013Typically, when the organizers of an auto show reveal that a new car will debut at their show, we take notice. But this particular claim from the Dubai International Motor Show ought to be taken with a grain of salt.
As our compatriots at AutoGuide discovered, the Facebook page for the Emirates auto expo includes a post with an interesting claim: that a sedan based on the Toyota GT86 (known in the US as the Scion FR-S) will debut at the show. The Facebook post is accompanied by the image above, purporting to show the concept in question.
The strange part is that the organizers claim the four-door GT86 concept will make its "regional unveil" at the Dubai show, which would seem to indicate that the concept in question would make its international debut at an earlier show. Considering that the doors open in Dubai on Tuesday, that seems increasingly unlikely. All of this begs the question, If this isn't actually a four-door GT86, what might it be?
