1964 FJ45 Toyota Land Cruiser Short Bed Pickup
The FJ45 comes to you in near perfect condition. It went through a full frame off restoration within the last several years. The original Toyota paint code T403 Lily White, was used, the cap and front headlight ring are the correct off white Toyota used for their trim and was just reapplied last fall, as was the interior silver trim on the inner door panels, dash cluster and glove box. Rims are powder coated the correct Pewter, and with newer Toyota Hub Caps. The front end sports a WARN winch with new nylon rope and stainless tow hook. Under the 45 you will find the under carriage in near flawless condition. Stainless exhaust in new condition. Shocks, leaf springs, gas tank, cables, all in excellent condition. The frame is completely rust free as is the entire vehicle. This 1964 FJ45 comes with pages of documented receipts from TLC 4X4 Service/Repair in Chatsworth, CA. Mr. Ward's company, TLC4X4 is one of the finest Land Cruiser Restoration, service and repair shops in the world. Building the best, and most expensive custom Land Cruisers ever, at ICON. A few notable items installed by TLC in 2011, where: Custom bed cover with front and rear roll up sides. Using 3 ply Mercedes dark gray canvas. Custom made steel one piece bows and J rails powder coated with steel hardware. Parts and Labor $5800 Custom bed mount spare-tire-carrier mounted in bed on bulk head. Parts and Labor $1490 Front and rear break cylinders (all 8) cleaned backing plates, bled brake system and adjusted breaks. Parts and Labor $1410.00 This list goes on for 4 pages and results in a grand total of over $22,000 spent just in upgrades and replacement repairs done at TLC. (see photo of receipts) The 64' FJ45 under went a front axle and front disc brake conversion as well, replacing the front axle assembly with a late model FJ40 (1978) factory disc brake axle and late model FJ40 power brake booster and master cylinder. The axles were re geared to match the rear differential, and entirely over hauled with new inner axle seals, burfield seals wipers, retainers, hubs, rotors, calipers, brake hoses, brake pads, all tie rods, and links, and plumed hard brake hoses to the master cylinder. Since the road test done by TLC in 2011 the 45 has barely been driven. It has a total of less than 6000 miles on the create Chevrolet 350 V8 motor. Compression shows 180 across the board, and the pickup runs like new. As you can see by the photos, this conversion was done professionally, and no expense was spared. The engine compartment is as clean as the day it was built in Japan almost 50 years ago. All phases of the FJ45 check out: Road Test, Engine, Cooling, Ignition System, Transmission, Transfer Case, both Front and Rear Differentials all gone thru as noted. Drive shaft, Universal Joints, all serviced, Brake System, Suspension, Steering, and wheels and tires. The glass, and all exterior components are all in excellent condition. Functional Operations: All work *Horn *low and high beams *High beam blue light works *left and right turn signals *Turn signal goes off when completing turn *tail lights *brake lights *license plate light *parking lights *dome light As mentioned earlier, there is no rust anywhere on the FJ45. The 6 foot bed was completely restored with new 16 gauge metal, and is in excellent condition, and serves nicely as extra room for gear, and even a couple of passengers with added FJ40 jump seats. The canvas top is the nicest I have ever seen, with the easiest and most sophisticated snap system ever built. There are many new items on, and in the FJ45, and it would be redundant to list them all. View the photos and ask questions. The pickup is in exceptional condition, in and out. I reserve the right to end the auction early. Bid with confidence, I have excellent references. 2014 Toyota Corolla shows just enough to keep us interested
Tue, 21 May 2013To date, the best idea we have of what the 2014 Toyota Corolla will look like is the shape and styling of the Furia Concept from this year's Detroit Auto Show. Obviously the compact car will turn down the wick a fair bit from that orange machine, and now we have one more scintilla of an idea of what the final product will look like.
Published today on Toyota's official Facebook page, the image above clearly shows the rear quarter of the 2014 Corolla S. Though the low angle is pretty wonky, we can make out that the shape of the taillight cluster is very similar to that of the Furia, albeit without the same LED treatment, A hint of a trunk-lid spoiler is also in evidence, and also follows the Furia's lead.
Toyota points out that the new Corolla will be shown in earnest on June 6. Expect to see the full version of the car by that date at the latest - online leaks have a tendancy to speed these things up.
Recharge Wrap-up: Porsche Mission E charging for Tesla, net zero energy Toyota dealership
Wed, Oct 5 2016Porsche has confirmed that its Mission E charging infrastructure will also work with Tesla vehicles. The ultra-fast, 800-volt charging system will recharge the Mission E to 80 percent in about 15 minutes, and will also service new EVs from Volkswagen and Audi. Porsche CEO Oliver Blume told Top Gear that development of the charging infrastructure "sounds easy but getting the details agreed is hard. We already have the clear technical concept. It can even work with Teslas, with an adapter." Dieter Zetsche, Head of Mercedes-Benz, also tells Top Gear that they are "in talks" with Porsche regarding charging infrastructure. Read more at Top Gear, or from Electrek. An Oregon Toyota dealership is set to be the world's first net zero energy automotive dealership. The newly constructed, LEED Platinum certified Toyota of Corvallis produces more energy than it consumes, for which it is expected to receive Net Zero Energy certification. The 34,800-square-foot building is equipped with enough solar panels to produce as much energy that the dealership will use, with excess being put back into the grid, which will help during hours of peak demand. Toyota Motor Sales regional manager Steve Haag calls Toyota of Corvallis, "a first-of-its-kind template for the auto dealership of the future." Read more from Toyota. Valeo has introduced a new 48-volt hybrid system. The 48V e4Sport, as it is called, uses a 48-volt battery, electric starter-generator, electric supercharger, and eRAD electric rear axle drive for all-wheel drive. It maximizes regenerative braking and stores that energy for increasing torque with the starter-generator, and increasing acceleration with the electric supercharger. The system also supports all-electric driving modes. Valeo says the system is applicable across all vehicle segments, and works with both gasoline and diesel engines. Read more at Green Car Congress. PSA Group has created its own mobility solutions brand, called Free2Move. Free2Move will handle programs like car sharing, connected services, corporate fleet services, and affordable leasing programs for Peugeot, Citroen, DS, and other PSA partners. "For the PSA Group, mobility means not only making and selling excellent cars, but also offering a full range of mobility solutions," says PSA Group VP of Mobility Services Gregoire Olivier.
Toyota promises Hybrid-R concept for Frankfurt
Thu, 08 Aug 2013Toyota will be bringing a new concept car to the Frankfurt Motor Show next month. Dubbed Hybrid-R, Toyota says the concept will feature the same Toyota Hybrid System-Racing tech found in the automaker's latest endurance car, the TS030 Hybrid.
That car took second place at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, with a gas-powered, 3.4-liter, naturally aspirated V8 and a capacitor-based hybrid system. The result was 530 ponies from the engine and an extra 300 horsepower from the electric motor and batteries.
Toyota's press release came with but one image, a new Hybrid badge which is a far cry from the Hybrid Synergy Drive label found on the automaker's other offerings. There's really not much else to go on yet, but the news that Toyota is already adapting its racing tech for a concept bodes well for the future of exciting, hybridized offerings from the automaker. We'll be at Frankfurt live, and will be sure to bring you all the news on this new concept as it becomes available.
