Vehicle is actually located in Roscoe, IL - roughly 10 miles north of Rockford, IL. Unfortunately, ebay doesn't recognize this location.
If you have a legitimate interest after reviewing description PLEASE research vehicle before making what you think buy it now price should be. Given year (2012), low mileage, options (Navigation, JBL stereo, OEM roof rack/bars, etc.) this is already one of the - if not THE - lowest priced comparably equipped Highlander Limited on ebay, Autotrader, Craigslist, etc. Outstanding condition, pre-owned 2012 Highlander Limited. This vehicle is about as close to showroom perfect as you will find. To the best of my knowledge this vehicle has every option available (with the exception of rear entertainment system/DVD) and has a few extras such as factory splash guards (mud flaps), factory roof rails for bike and other attachments, and factory door guards along edges of all four doors. The factory black carpet floor mats have never been used...you will get brand new floor mats as I have been using Weather Tech rubber mats instead. 1-owner, non-smoking, very meticulous, professional. Car purchased new by me in early June 2012. Vehicle comes with the balance of 3 year 36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty, plus balance of 2 year 24,000 mile Toyota Care (all oil changes, maintenance, etc.) and of course, the balance of Toyota's power train warranty. I am not selling for any reason other than I don't need this nice of a vehicle for as little as I drive. Our family has a mini van, which we take everywhere except my daily commute of < 20 miles round trip. Again, please do your homework (NADA, KBB, Autotrader, Ebay, etc.) before making an offer. This is NOT a distress or necessary sale, so please don't inquire with low "buy it now" suggestions, or what you think this vehicle is worth. I WON'T TAKE $30,000, or even $31,000, so please don't ask! I recently received a sight unseen trade-in value of $31,500 and was advised they can probably do better once inspected. While I'd rather downsize $$ than trade up, the vehicle has a value to me of at least $32,000 since no sales tax is required on portion of trade value. Given how new and clean (excellent condition) this vehicle is, with below average mileage, and essentially loaded, this is already one of the least expensive 2012 AWD (4x4) Highlander Limited on ebay. If you want a Highlander Limited for $30k you'll have to find an older model year or accept one with significantly more miles and/or without navigation and some of the other great options this vehicle has. If you have a legitimate interest and related questions, please email me. Thank you! |

Toyota recalls power window switches for 6.5 million vehicles [UPDATE]
Wed, Oct 21 2015UPDATE: There was one incident of someone in the US getting a burn to the hand from this issue Toyota spokesperson Cindy Knight tells Autoblog that. "We have 11 reports where part of the door trim and/or switch was burnt," she said. The company isn't aware of any crashes from the problem, though. Because of a potential short circuit in the driver's side power window switch, Toyota is recalling 6.5 million vehicles worldwide, Reuters reports. Of those, the automaker says around 2 million are in the US. The affected models here are: 2007 and 2009 Camry and Camry Hybrid 2009-2011 Corolla 2008-2011 Highlander and Highlander Hybrid 2009-2011 Matrix 2006-2011 RAV4 2009-2011 Sequoia 2009-2011 Tundra 2006-2010 Yaris 2009-2011 Scion xB 2009-2010 Scion xD According to Toyota, the switch might not have received adequate lubricant grease during manufacturing, and over time this could lead to a short circuit. In a worst-case scenario, the part might even overheat, melt and cause a fire. As a fix, dealers will inspect the component on these vehicles and apply heat-resistant grease to it, and any broken examples will have an internal circuit board replaced. Toyota already issued one recall for this problem in 2012 when it had to repair 7.5 million vehicles globally from the 2007-2009 model years, including 2.5 million in the US. These latest models had the grease applied in a different way. Related Video: Toyota Recalls Certain Vehicles for Power Window Master Switch October 21, 2015 TORRANCE, Calif., Oct. 20, 2015 – Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. today announced that it is conducting a safety recall of approximately 2,000,000 vehicles related to the driver's side Power Window Master Switch. The involved vehicles include certain: 2007 and 2009 Camry and Camry Hybrid 2009-2011 Corolla 2008-2011 Highlander and Highlander Hybrid 2009-2011 Matrix 2006-2011 RAV4 2009-2011 Sequoia 2009-2011 Tundra 2006-2010 Yaris 2009-2011 Scion xB 2009-2010 Scion xD The Power Window Master Switch in the involved vehicles may have been manufactured with insufficient lubricant grease. If not enough grease is applied, under certain conditions the switch may develop a short circuit that can cause the switch assembly to overheat and melt. A melting switch can produce smoke and potentially lead to a fire. Toyota previously recalled certain 2007-2009 model year vehicles for a similar condition.
Toyota recalls 370k Sienna minivans, 10.5k Lexus GS models over separate issues
Thu, 22 May 2014The year of the recall continues, but this time it isn't from General Motors. Toyota is announcing two, separate recalls affecting a pair of its models.
First, Toyota is recalling 370,000 Sienna minivans from the 2004 to 2011 model years that are registered or originally sold in cold-weather states. The problem is that the spare tire carrier assembly cable can be splashed by water contaminated with road salt and cause corrosion. There is a splashguard in place to prevent this, but it sometimes gets lost in "normal usage," according to the company. If the cable does break, then "the spare tire may separate from the vehicle."
This is actually the second repair for this problem for some of these vehicles. In 2010, Toyota issued a recall on 600,000 Siennas from the 1998 to 2010 model years. At the time, it installed a new splashguard and sprayed the area with an anti-rust chemical. However, according to Toyota spokesperson John Hanson speaking to Autoblog, the campaign worked for the 1998 to 2003 models but wasn't sufficient for the newer ones. For the latest recall, the vehicles are getting the entire cable replaced with a stainless steel unit and a new splashguard.
White House clears way for NHTSA to mandate vehicle black boxes
Fri, 07 Dec 2012At present, over 90 percent of all new vehicles sold in the United States today are equipped with event data recorders, more commonly known as black boxes. If the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gets its way, that already high figure will swell to a full 100 percent in short order.
Such automotive black boxes have been in existence since the 1990s, and all current Ford, General Motors, Mazda and Toyota vehicles are so equipped. NHTSA has been attempting to make these data recorders mandatory for automakers, and according to The Detroit News, the White House Office of Management Budget has just finished reviewing the proposal, clearing the way. Now NHTSA is expected to draft new legislation to make the boxes a requirement.
One problem with current black boxes is that there's no set of standards for automakers to follow when creating what bits of data are recorded, and for how long or in what format it is stored. In other words, one automaker's box is probably not compatible with its competitors.
