2007 FJ Cruiser, Great Shape, Never in Shop, NO RESERVE!!!! Check Out My Feedback!  This is my wife's car and had been absolutely a great car for our family.  We have owned this vehicle for two years and NEVER have had a problem.  I really do hate that we are selling this as it is such a great truck, but my wife wants something a little bigger such as a Landcruiser.  This will be our fourth Toyota in a row, we are now believers!

The GOOD...............oil changed every 3,000 miles religiously, title in hand and ready to transfer.  As you can see, the truck is in great shape and ready for another couple hundred thousand  miles @ least.  The interior looks basically brand new as it was always adult driven and not abused. It has the "rubber like" floor and is super easy to clean.  We also have the super duty black mats to protect the truck, also have the big one in the back.  See pic.  We live on a horse farm, but it was never used for hauling, etc, in the field, we have other vehicles for that.  The tires were replaced last year with a set of Dunlop AT20s and have good tread on them.  Everything works as it should on the truck.  Comes with original booklet and 3 keys.  I usually used my truck to pull our boat, but this used a few times on the boat and horse trailer and did just fine.  It is a very sharp vehicle and my wife gets a lot of comments on how nice it is.  As a husband/father, I always felt good about my family being in this vehicle as it is very big, heavy and trustworthy.

The BAD............The truck is a 2007, so it does have several scratches on the paint.  This is an easy touch-up on a black vehicle, but I had it professionally detailed and asked to not have that done so the new buyer could see exactly what you were getting.  Please see pics.  The worst is on the hood, an easy touch-up, but I wanted to leave alone.  This is courtesy of our 900 lb. Saint Bernard trying to get one of our cats on the truck! see pic The brakes squeek when you first back out of the garage, had them looked @, but the original owner said the same thing so we just ignore it.  The little light on the passenger rear view mirror is busted.  It does not look bad, but @ night when she turns on the lights that little bulb does not come on.  It has a small "dent" on the front plastic piece over the driver's tire, see pic.  On the rear plastic piece, there is a discolored spot, see pic.

Any questions, please ask or call me, Jeff @ 502-457-4183.  My goal is to make sure that you are completely comfortable with your purchase, please check my feedback.  I have 100% with 565 transactions!!!!!  I do this for fun, this is not my job.  Trust me and know that I will answer everything 100% accurate.  We live an hour south of Louisville, KY on I-65 in case you will be coming to pick it up.  I do have the truck for sale locally and do reserve the right to stop the auction @ any time if sold.  I have it priced @ the same VERY good price in the paper, Craigslist, so let me know if you are interested ASAP. If not sold locally, this truck will go to the highest bidder.  I will accept Cashier's Check or cash only for this truck, $500 due immediately upon winning the auction.  Again, any questions, just call!  Good luck and remember, this truck will sell within the next 7 days....................NO RESERVE!!!!!!!!

This map reveals the cleanest vehicles based on location

Thu, Apr 28 2016

Naysayers love to point out how dirty the electricity grid mix is when it comes to charging electric vehicles. Curmudgeons are eager to jump into any conversation about EVs to enlighten the lucky listeners about how plug-in cars contribute to pollution, sometimes even throwing in a dash of climate-change denial for good measure. (Thanks, buddy. Pray, tell me more about the plight of oppressed SUV owners.) Unless someone buys an EV just because they think they're cool (which, yeah, they often are), they probably have at least a passable understanding of their environmental pros and cons. As many EV owners are already aware, location has a lot to do with any particular plug-in car's carbon footprint. Still, there's always more to know, and knowledge is not a bad thing, especially if one uses it to do the right thing. That's why this handy-dandy map from Carnegie Mellon University is so interesting. CMU researchers have compiled information about the lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions of various EVs based on where they're charged, as compared to gasoline-powered vehicles. The researchers looked at the Nissan Leaf, Chevrolet Volt, and Prius Plug-In Hybrid versus the gasoline-dependent Toyota Prius hybrid and the stop-start-equipped Mazda3 with i-ELOOP and compared grams of CO2 emitted per mile. CMU takes into account the grid mix, ambient temperature, and driving patterns. CMU takes into account the grid mix based on county, as well as ambient temperature and driving patterns in terms of miles traveled on the highway or in the city. For instance, if you drive a Nissan Leaf in urban areas of California, Texas, or Florida, your carbon footprint is lower than it would be if you were driving a standard Toyota Prius. However, if you charge your Leaf in the Midwest or the South, for the most part, you've got a larger carbon footprint than the Prius. If you live in the rural Midwest, you'd probably even be better off driving a Mazda3. Throughout the country, the Chevrolet Volt has a larger carbon footprint than the Toyota Prius, but a smaller one than the Mazda3 in a lot of urban counties in the US. The Prius and Prius Plug-In are relatively equal across the US. Having trouble keeping it straight? That's not surprising. The comparisons between plug-in and gasoline vehicles are much more nuanced than the loudest voices usually let on.

Consumer Reports says Toyota, Ford, Honda and Chevy are big winners in brand perception survey

Wed, 05 Feb 2014

According to Consumer Reports, the automotive brands that stand out in the minds of car buyers are, in order: Toyota, Ford, Honda and Chevrolet. This news comes after the magazine polled its readers, asking them to take into account vehicle quality, safety, performance, value, fuel economy, design/style, and technology/innovation - which are the factors that car shoppers are most influenced by.
It's important to note that this award is only about perception. In other words, it's perceived quality, not actual quality. "Often, perception can be a trailing indicator, reflecting years of good or bad performance in a category, and it can also be influenced by headlines in the media," said Jeff Bartlett, Consumer Reports deputy automotive editor.
The brand that made the biggest jump in perception amongst Consumer Reports readers is Tesla, which posted an impressive 47-point gain to finish in fifth place. Subaru is also notable for finishing in the top 10, despite being one of the smaller manufacturers doing business in the US. Scroll down below for all the details from Consumer Reports, if you're so inclined.

Everything new at the 2019 New York International Auto Show

Wed, Apr 24 2019

Transcript: Welcome to the 2019 New York Auto Show. It's the last auto show, and so far it's my favorite of the year. We have a new buggy, compact pickup and trail ready SUV from Volkswagen. Ford brought the new Escape and a new Mustang performance variant, and we have a brand new Toyota Highlander and Subaru Outback. Let's go take a look around. We're here at the New York Auto Show with the Subaru stand. Normally the Subaru stand is just some white carpet and some show lighting. This year it's like we're in a national park. It's ... Frankly, I'm from Oregon. You're from Colorado. Yeah. It's making us feel at home. And in that way what better place and what better people to introduce this Subaru Outback which is pretty much the official car of Colorado and Oregon. Yeah. You actually have to buy a Subaru before they let you move to Colorado. Now instead of climbing up there and taking a look because we've been told we can't do that we're gonna go over there and check out another one. So the exterior, not that different. No. Looks exactly like an Outback. There's actually oddly a little more black plastic trim on the outside. A little too much for me. Right. It's interesting because it kind of slowly went away from that from the beginning because in the beginning the black plastic trim kind of made it an Outback, and now they're kind of bringing it back. I guess they needed to make it more macho. Right. Right. Now we're inside. Inside it looks pretty different. Swank. It's kind of swank for an Outback which has been pretty plain. Now this is the newly available vertically gigantic touch screen here. 11.6 inches. That is massive. This is how big it is when it's turned on ... just for the viewers. Now this is the onyx trim. So with that you get the black mirrors, the black wheels. This upholstery is special to the onyx, so it's gray and black and you also have this green stitching. Yeah, I like this accent stitching. It's kind of neat. Oh there's also a little tray there. Well this is a deep bin here. You can probably fit a phone. There we go. Almost. Yeah there are two USB ports. There's an additional two in the backseat. So this thing here you pop in the cup holder and it gives you a little more space or less space. These are really big, so if you have one of those Nalgene bottles I'm guessing it's going to fit in there. One of my complaints about my Subaru that I own now which is a naturally aspirated Crosstrek is that up in the mountains. It's slow?
