2013 Toyota Corolla S Sedan 4-door 1.8l - Like New *low Miles**no Reserve** on 2040-cars
Aiken, South Carolina, United States
2013 Toyota Corolla Type-S ***No Reserve*** This vehicle is practically new...Still has that new car smell. It is nicely equipped...the "S" model is the top of the Toyota Corolla line-up. We even had the dealer install a rear Back-Up camera (which is not even an option on the Corolla). We purchased this great vehicle about 10 months ago, but have opened a new business recently which has not yet began to produce income. Due to this, we have dropped from 2 incomes to only one, so the car payment has to go. Our bad luck is going to be great luck for someone else...If you are looking for a new car, let us take the initial depreciation and you can buy this like-new car for much less than it should cost!!! NADA Values: Clean Trade: $16,235 Clean Retail: $18,675 The MSRP on this, when purchased last year, was $20,219!!! And that was before we had the Back-Up camera added (at an additional $399) This awesome vehicle still has the remaining factory warranty, and Toyota's free service up to 25,000 miles!!! Feel free to call or contact me with any questions about this vehicle. Mark (803)221-4292 NO RESERVE BID EARLY...BID OFTEN Highest bid wins!!! This vehicle is also for sale locally, so I reserve all rights to end this auction early. |

2015 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro priced from $41,285*
Fri, 29 Aug 2014Just a few weeks after announcing pricing for the first two members of its TRD Pro Series, Toyota has finally dropped the final pricing details on its new Tundra TRD Pro. Like the Tacoma TRD Pro, the Tundra will be available in two different body styles, with a more affordable Double Cab and a roomier Crew Cab.
Prices start at $41,285 for the former and $43,900 for the latter - not counting a hefty $1,100 destination charge - effectively slotting Toyota's off-road-ready model between the $41,730, Double Cab Limited and $46,465, Crew Cab-only 1794 Edition trucks.
As we've covered previously, the TRD Pro models come with a raft of off-road gear that should help combat just about any terrain a driver may stumble across. TRD-tuned Bilstein shocks and TRD-tuned front springs add two inches to the big truck's ride height while the black, 18-inch TRD wheels and available Inferno Orange paint add a bit of visual sass. A new TRD dual exhaust system is also standard, which can confirm sounds great (review coming soon!).
Dutch Toyota dealer has plans for old Prius batteries as solar backup
Thu, May 1 2014A Toyota dealer in the Netherlands is looking to the sky for power. The Louwman Hague Toyota dealership has put almost 1,000 solar panels on the roof, and there might be some Prius hybrid batteries involved. Our Dutch isn't as good as it could be and our questions to Toyota in the US haven't turned up any definitive answers, but there is some mention that these solar panels are will someday be feeding power into a bank of Toyota hybrid batteries. The 1,000 panels make up 1,600 square meters, about the size of 4.5 IMAX movie screens, and is the largest in the area. They generate around a quarter of a megawatt of energy [as our readers point out, this is what the translation says, but it doesn't make sense, so we think it might mean a quarter MW of power a day], which is enough to power 80 homes. The excess electricity will go into the battery packs that have (possibly) already been used in a Prius or another of the company's hybrid. There are many examples of automotive batteries being tested as stationary back-up power sources, and maybe this Dutch solution can be used as a guide when Toyota sets up its new US headquarters in sunny Texas.
Toyota expects hybrids will soon reach 20-percent sales volume globally
Wed, 12 Mar 2014Hybrids have come quite a long way from their roots as dull, slow, boring ecomobiles. Today, Porsche sells three hybrid models, one of which is the amazing 918 Spyder. BMW will soon sell four, including a low-slung, two-seat sports car. Even Ferrari and McLaren, full-fledged hypercar manufacturers, are embracing the tech. And all of these cars are sold alongside the same sort of boring cars that popularized hybrids in the first place. According to Toyota Chairman Takeshi Uchiyamada, though, we should see an even bigger increase in the number of hybrid vehicles in the coming years.
"I foresee hybrid models pretty soon reaching 20 percent of global sales from about 13 percent to 14 percent now," Uchiyamada-san told Automotive News. Uchiyamada is the man behind the original Prius, which gives him some degree of authority on making predictions about hybrid adoption.
What's remarkable, though, is that the 20-percent figure doesn't include plug-in hybrids, just gas- and diesel-electric models. "Suppliers need higher volumes to slash costs of components specific to plug-in models, including batteries that should be bigger and more capable than the ones used in traditional hybrids," Uchiyamada told AN.
