Hello eBayers! The time has come for me to part with my very faithful 2003 Totyota Corolla and hopefully find it a good home. I have recently purchased  new vehicle and no longer have a use or space for this one. This dependable Corolla makes for the perfect 1st car or commuter car. While the car does run perfectly well, I will be selling it as-is, as I am not a dealer and want to be done with the car selling business upon conclusion of this auction. For anyone interested in having a third party inspect the car, I am very open to that. Likewise, if a potential bidder lives in the area, I am fine with allowing for test drives. In the following description, I will make you aware of any and all issues relating to the car, as I do not want anyone's expectations to be misaligned. Let me tell you a bit more about the car:

Drive: For the last three years I have been driving this car to and from work, roughly 500 miles/week without a single mechanical problem, which is still the case. This car is a real testament to Toyotas, as even though it has 180k miles, you wouldn't know that from driving it, as the car runs perfectly fine. As you can surely imagine, with 180k miles, the car does not have all new parts and in time certain things may need updating, but as of right now the car is ready to drive right off the lot.

Cosmetic: As you can tell from the pictures, the car is in very good cosmetic shape. The car has not been in any major accidents and does not have any dents. There is very slight paint chipping on the hood, which is barely noticeable. There is also one small chip on the driver's side door. The rear bumper also has pretty noticeable wear, as you can see from the picture. As for the interior, it is very clean. This is a non-smoking vehicle. The only interior issues would be a missing compartment door to one of the two compartments under the radio and some wear to the carpet on the driver's side floor.

Other: The corolla needs work on the brake/tail lights, as they are both broken. I tried replacing the bulbs, but they kept falling out, on both sides. In one of my failed attempts to fix it, I actually broke the tail light casing on the drivers side. Because we are talking about lighting, I don't foresee this being a major issue, but it will certainly be something someone needs to fix before inspection. The car will also likely need two new tires in the front, as they are lacking great tread.

Shipping: As I am not a dealer, I am not sure about means of shipping. Obviously I encourage anyone to come pick the car up locally and I can deliver the car in a 25 mile radius. If you want the car shipped, you would have to handle that yourself, but I will do everything I can to help.

Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to shoot me an email and I will promptly get back to you. Happy bidding!

2015 Toyota Camry

Mon, 22 Sep 2014

Every car has its definitive year. Whether it be the Chevrolet Corvette, the Ford Mustang, or yes, even the ubiquitous Toyota Camry, 10.2 million of which have been sold since 1983, every car has its year. For the Camry, that year was 1992. With son-of-Lexus styling, a clear sense of purpose and a parent company that had hit its stride as the purveyor of faultlessly reliable family transportation devices, the Camry got its legs in 1992. It's a car that even your mom is likely to remember, even if she never owned one herself.
The Camry you see here represents the closest Toyota has come to emulating the magic formula that made the 1992 model the stuff of legends. Compared to the 2014 model, some 2000 of the car's 6,000 parts are new, most of them involving things you can see or touch (on the outside, for example, only the roof carries over from 2014).
It's not a full redesign, but nevertheless it's a stunning development considering the predecessor upon which it's based only survived two model years. That's a testament to both the hyper-competitive nature of the family sedan segment and the lukewarm critical response that the outgoing car garnered. But that's in the past now - after driving this 2015 model, we suspect the new car's changes will be thorough enough to continue pulling in new customers by the hundreds of thousands each year for the foreseeable future.

Hurricane Sandy cost automakers 15,000 vehicles, may have ruined up to 200k

Wed, 07 Nov 2012

Hurricane Sandy was the largest Atlantic storm in US history, and its total economic impact is just now coming into view. According to Automotive News, Toyota, Chrysler, Nissan and Honda are set to scrap around 15,000 new vehicles ruined by the storm. Nissan alone accounts for about 40 percent of those, with 6,000 Nissan and Infiniti models deeded "un-saleable" due to damage. The company saw 56 dealerships shuttered due to the storm, but 51 of those have since reopened.
Toyota, meanwhile, had some 4,000 vehicles at its Newark port facility, and of those, 3,000 may be scrapped. An additional 825 were dealer inventory when they were ruined. Honda and Acura dealers are reportedly sending 3,440 vehicles to the salvage yard. By comparison, Chrysler weathered the storm fairly well with 825 units destroyed, while Hyundai suffered only 400 lost units and Kia scrapped around 200.
As you may recall, Fisker also suffered some losses, and Automotive News reports the manufacturer saw 320 Karma models damaged beyond repair. Ford and General Motors have yet to come up with estimates, and no automaker has commented on the full cost of replacing the vehicles.

2014 Toyota Highlander

Tue, 17 Dec 2013

Midsize crossovers like the Toyota Highlander tend to play a thankless role in the life of today's modern family.
That's really too bad. With the ability to hold several hyperactive kids and tons of cargo while keeping everyone safe and comfortable in all kinds of climate conditions day in and day out, they're true heroes in the lives of hundreds of thousands of families across the country. Yet their car-apathetic owners often immediately forget about them as soon as their work is done. And nearly all midsize crossovers are thoroughly ignored by enthusiasts whose eyes begin to glaze over at first mention of the phrase "third row."
Toyota is looking to soften the blow somewhat by giving its midsize crossover, the Highlander, a big redesign for the 2014 model year. With a bold new look, updated suspension and a refreshed interior focused on comfort and convenience, Toyota aims to make the Highlander sportier to drive and more striking in appearance, because, as the marketing team explains, "families are going places and they want to get there in style."
