2001 Toyota Corolla S Sedan 4-door 1.8l on 2040-cars
Bronx, New York, United States
This car is an amazing and economic money saving machine. It still gets 28 (city) and 36 (highway) mpg. The only thing wrong with this car is that it has a leak of freon in one of the hoses that goes to the AC compressor and a very very slow leak in the oil pan. I have to put a quart of oil like every two weeks. As for the check engine light, it only has to do with the emissions system and no other major issues. I changed both oxygen sensors, new spark plugs, new catalytic converter, and gave the car a full tune up but the light is still on. This leads me to believe that the charcoal canister has to be changed. You can expect to pay something like $250-$300 for the canister plus labor. The buyer is responsible for all shipping cost. Full payment required at the end of auction and before scheduled pick up of vehicle NO EXCEPTIONS.
Upgrades include: Pirelli P4 All Season tires K&N short ram air intake Strut Tower Bar (for better handling stability in curves) KYB shock absorbers all around Vogtland Springs all around New front rotors and calipers New brakes all around. If you have any further questions please call or text me @ 718 679 0187 Only PAYPAL accepted for payment NO CASH, NO MONEY ORDERS, NO BANK CHECKS, NO PERSONAL CHECKS, NO EXCEPTIONS. |

Toyota announces Geneva plans including droptop FT-86 Open concept
Fri, 01 Feb 2013Automakers from around the globe are gearing up for the Geneva Motor Show next month, and Toyota is giving us a couple teasers of what will be in its display. In addition to what appears to be a single-seat concept called the i-Road (shown at right), Toyota will also give us our first look at a droptop Scion FR-S courtesy of the FT-86 Open Concept.
All we have to go on right now is this sketch shown above, but we do see that this car will retain its rear seats, which could be a potential advantage over one of its key rivals, the Mazda MX-5 Miata. Toyota says that this concept will be used to gauge public interest in such a convertible, but we've already heard that a Scion convertible is already planned to go on sale as soon as early next year. As far as Toyota's other concept, there also isn't much information about the i-Road except that it will be a zero-emissions vehicle and it will have seating for two passengers, which based on the drawing will have the driver sitting in front of the passenger.
Toyota will also show off the European version of the new RAV4 as well as its new Auris Touring Sports, which it refers to as a "medium-size estate." Scroll down for Toyota's tease of a press release.

Aston CEO claims Cygnet cancelled because Toyota is dropping iQ in 2014
Sun, 27 Oct 2013While slow sales and a $50,000 price tag may have been contributing factors to the Aston Martin Cygnet being cancelled last month, Aston Martin CEO Ulrich Bez is pointing the finger at Toyota for the demise of this luxurious little city car. In a discussion with Autocar, Bez is quoted as saying that the ultimate reason the Cygnet was cut is because Toyota plans on dropping the iQ (on which the Cygnet is based) in 2014 - a claim denied by the Japanese automaker.
Interestingly, the article also cites another publication reporting that a Toyota importer in the Netherlands heard the same news as Bez, and it has already stopped importing the cars. If the European Toyota iQ is cancelled, that would likely spell the end of the slow-selling Scion iQ in the US, which has sold just 3,365 units through September (a drop of 51 percent year over year).
Regardless of why production of the Cygnet ended, Bez also says that a lack of support from Toyota on the project prevented it from being offered in the US or receiving a supercharged engine, which are two factors that likely would have made the car appealing to more buyers.
