1988 Toyota Corolla Fx16 Gts Hatchback 3-door 1.6l on 2040-cars
Miami, Florida, United States
This is a very rare car, its a 1988 corolla gts, the GTS has the legendary 4age 16valve 1.6 engine that came in the famous ae86 corollas, it has original engine that has 120k miles but is extremely healthy, it has the original 5 speed gearbox, the shifts are incredibly smooth and so is the clutch, the clutch master cylinder was replaced recently so thats new. It has a obx 4-2-1 header, to aftermarket exhaust. The car runs great i changed lots of the drivetrain like new control arms, bushings, cv joints, and even shocks. The car currently has a set of coilover sleeve coils which provide for adjustable height although the ride is a bit rough, but i will include the original springs if you would like to back to stock suspension. The interior is all original with the exception of a grant steering wheel (will include original steering wheel) interior is 7 out 10 and the only bad park is tat the dash is cracked. Popup lights still work perfectly, power windows, power locks and power sunroof still work. Car is a real treasure to someone that can appreciate a nice 80's japanese classic, it has a set of 15 by 7.5 rims and fairly new tires. I changed the brakes rotors and pads, the calipers are in good condition. The car is very sporty and extremely fun to drive, it is a shame that i am selling it but unfortunately i bought another car and have no more space for this one, i just really hope this can go to a new home and be appreciated for the truly great car that it is, if you have any questions or would like more pictures or information please feel free to message me. thank you for your time and good luck!

J.D. Power: Vehicle dependability at all-time high, Lexus and Porsche lead
Wed, 13 Feb 2013
Each year, J.D. Power and Associates surveys original owners of three-year-old vehicles to find out what kinds of problems they have had experienced over the last 12 months, and then it uses this data to create its annual Vehicle Dependability Study. This means that the models in the 2013 study are 2010 model year vehicles, and J.D. Power rates each make as well as the top individual models based on how many problems were experienced per 100 vehicles (PP100).
Debunking the idea that carryover models are more dependable than new or updated models, the 2013 study found that the average carryover model experienced 133 PP100, while all-new or redesigned vehicles for the 2010 model year had 116 PP100; vehicles that received minor changes fared the best with just 111 PP100. The overall average for all makes was 126 PP100, which is the lowest figure since the findings were first issued in 1989.
Toyota FCV Concept comes one step closer to reality
Wed, 20 Nov 2013When Toyota first conceptualized a gasoline-electric hybrid vehicle for mainstream Americans to drive, the initial response was pretty skeptical. Still, through relentless engineering and solid product after solid product, Toyota has built the Prius brand into the dominant force in the hybrid car market.
Something like that plan of attack is what the Japanese company is preparing for hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, as well, and that attack is seeing a critical salvo fired today with the debut of this FCV Concept at the Tokyo Motor Show.
Though there's nothing substantive to be said about rumors of a 300-mile range or a sticker price around $50,000, the FCV concept does offer a few technical details. The sharp-beaked concept makes use of two high-pressure hydrogen tanks and boasts a power output density of three kilowatts per liter.
Toyota discontinuing FJ Cruiser after 2014 model year
Tue, 20 Aug 2013The Toyota FJ Cruiser is not long for this world. According to the manufacturer's own fleet website, the rugged FJ will be discontinued after the 2014 model year, with the companies final orders due in June of next year.
Toyota first launched the FJ Cruiser in 2006 as a 2007 model, and aside from minor year-over-year changes, it has not been substantially updated. The FJ is the modern successor to the original FJ40 Land Cruiser that Toyota produced from the 1960s all the way up through 1984, when the automaker decided to better focus on its larger, four-door Land Cruiser line. Currently, it uses a 4.0-liter V6 engine with either rear- or four-wheel drive, and is available with either a five-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmission. Interestingly, word of the FJ's demise comes not long after Toyota's US boss, Bill Fay, reaffirmed his company's commitment to body-on-frame trucks in late July.
Also of interest, Toyota's fleet website states that the 2014 model year Prius range will have "minor updates," though it's unclear what those are as of this writing. When Autoblog reached out to confirm these developments with Toyota, spokesman Curt McCallister reminded us, "As is our corporate policy, we don't discuss future products beyond the present or upcoming model year."
